Chapter 1946

~11 min read 2,155 words

The wings disappeared with a 'swish'.

The three looked at Bruce's face in unison.

"Illusion."

The three narrowed their eyes in unison.

But Bruce walked out of the house like nothing had happened and said: "The sunshine is good today, it's probably a mirage."

"It's cloudy today."

"Mirages are more likely to appear on cloudy days."

"Where did you go?" Lord Superman also walked out of the house's living room and looked at Bruce, asking.

"How did you get out?" Bruce changed the subject.

Wonder Woman sighed and said: "He chased me all over the sky with heat vision. I really had no strength left, and the Lasso of Truth automatically retracted."

"Sounds like Batman's idea."

"It was his, and it exhausted both of us." Wonder Woman walked forward again, saw Bruce sitting on the swing in the yard, walked over, sat on another swing, and asked: "Do you have a solution?"

"I roughly know the principle, I'm still thinking about the solution."

"What principle?" Lord Superman still didn't understand what Bruce had just done.

Only Batman's attention remained firmly unmoved. He was still recalling the wings he had just seen behind Bruce.

That was three pairs of huge feathered wings composed of 140 small wings. Batman was very sure he hadn't counted wrong, and this description sounded very much like Gabriel in the *Bible*. Only his wings were the most special and easy to recognize.

"I studied the principle of your conflict." Bruce said while swinging: "Simply put, you entered a self-exploration period due to major changes in life conditions. During this period, you will re-examine your relationship with others, mapping yourself and establishing yourself."

"During this period, your views on things and people will be unpredictable, sometimes even diametrically opposed. But the process of rebuilding and improving a new self is inevitably accompanied by spiritual depression and pain."

After reciting a few paragraphs of the textbook, Bruce seemed a bit impatient. He stopped the swing, looked at Lord Superman and Batman, and said: "I won't explain the specific principles. In short, I think you should separate for a while to calm down."

Lord Superman opened his mouth to refute, but Bruce said: "If you limit the interpersonal relationships of people in the self-exploration period to just between two people, the final result will be that you can neither accurately observe the self in the eyes of others, nor interfere with the self-exploration process of others because you are too eager to seek attention. Simply put, you are hurting each other."

"But we are a team, where can we separate to?" Wonder Woman raised a question.

"Didn't I leave my team and come here?" Bruce waved his hand and said.

"You mean we should go to other teams?" Lord Superman frowned deeply.

"Can you contact your teammates?" Batman said.

Lord Superman immediately understood what he meant. He looked at Batman with great dissatisfaction, and Bruce thought for a while and said: "If I have to contact them, I have a way, but I don't think you will like the Superman of our universe."

"Why?" Batman was truly a bit curious.

"If you can accept the Superman of this universe, the Clark I know might be a bit..." Bruce was silent for a while and then said: "Have you ever driven a Lamborghini tractor?"

This question made everyone feel inexplicable. The other three only thought Bruce was talking nonsense. Lord Superman still looked at Batman and said: "You cannot leave, Bruce. Escaping won't solve the problem."

"You are the one who has been escaping."

"Stop arguing." Bruce interrupted them and said: "It's not life and death or a permanent break. After you separate, think clearly about what you want, then think about what the other party wants, and then you can communicate more effectively, right?"

Lord Superman actually had no time to think about these problems, but he found that Batman was determined to leave, and his eyes were saying, 'the person you brought back is also supporting my decision'.

Bruce was indeed brought back by himself. Lord Superman thought, I don't know if this counts as lifting a rock to drop it on his own feet, but he wasn't willing to show weakness, so he said: "Fine, when you see other Supermen, you will understand who is the more suitable teammate for you, and who is your true friend."

Batman didn't answer, silent as usual.

The next process was walked by Bruce.

Now the teams couldn't communicate with each other, but Bruce had a way to contact Owen, or at least the person who dominated this competition, because he could return to his world to find Destiny.

All the creatures in all the universes of his world were recorded in the Book of Destiny. If the organizer of the Battleworld wanted to extract the souls of the heroes, they must have obtained Destiny's consent, so Destiny must know about this, and must have the organizer's contact information.

Bruce returned to Heaven again and found Michael. As the administrator of the universe, Michael could contact Destiny, and Destiny could contact the organizer.

Not long after, Bruce returned. He tilted his head at the round platform in the center of the safe zone and said: "Put your hand on it and call the name of the Beyonder, and you can talk to the organizer directly. This is the customer service channel that will be announced later."

Batman understood. He had felt before that an organizer who could make such a big move couldn't have failed to consider that many teams had a need to contact him separately.

For example, some people want to quit the competition, some want to ask about the rules, some just want to chat because they have nothing to do. Since they have already held such a grand competition, is it too much trouble to set up a customer service?

Several people put their hands with the diamond pattern on the round platform together. Bruce shouted 'Beyonder', and a purple little person appeared in the center of the round platform.

"Why is it you again!" Owen was so angry that he rolled his eyes and said: "You master and apprentice are truly cut from the same cloth. I just came from him, and he insisted that my car repair wasn't good, demanding an additional brand-new interior, and it had to be a comfort type. I sewed the seat cushions for half a day."

"We hope to switch teams." Bruce quickly changed the subject and said: "This Batman wants to go to my original team."

"What are you doing?" Owen frowned and looked at Bruce, then at Batman, and said with some dissatisfaction: "Just one game blew up, how long are you going to blackmail me?"

"I think this is quite reasonable compensation. If your game hadn't blown up, I wouldn't be sitting here chatting with them now, but should be taking the points I won to the next game."

"Since that's the case, you should be responsible for all the choices I made during the game time. After all, you are the creator of the game, aren't you?"

Owen seemed a bit hesitant, but he quickly opened his mouth and said: "Fine, here's some information first. Actually, team contact will be opened later, but it's limited to team members who have participated in the game together. Personnel exchange is also possible, but it requires points."

"We won't pay points." Bruce shook his head and said: "This information can't be called compensation, because we'll know it when the time comes. If you don't want Schiller to come back to you later and demand a sports-style interior, do me a favor."

Owen slapped his forehead.

"The biggest mistake I made was pulling you master and apprentice in. I don't want to sew seat cushions anymore... fine, fine, you bunch of misers. This time it's free, but there will definitely not be a next time."

After speaking, Owen disappeared. The mark on Batman's hand lit up, and the mark on the round platform lit up synchronously.

Bruce looked at it and said: "You put your hand on it and it should be fine. After you go there, help me report safety to Clark."

Just as Batman raised his hand, Bruce added: "Must remember, if he asks you to help plow the land, don't agree. You don't know how big that land is."

Before Bruce finished speaking, Batman's figure had already disappeared. Bruce wasn't sure if Batman heard the last sentence he said, but since the person was already gone, it could only be like this.

At the same time, Owen's purple little person on the round platform was talking to Clark and Diana of Bruce's universe, seemingly talking about Batman coming over.

Just as they were talking, a flash of light appeared next to the round platform, and Batman, wearing a bat suit, had already appeared in front of Clark and the two.

"Oh, my God, a brand-new Bruce." Clark hurried over and shook hands with Batman, saying: "You should have notified us earlier that you were coming. At least we should have prepared a sumptuous dinner for you."

"Welcome." Diana walked up and hugged Batman, saying: "Is Bruce okay over there? Didn't he cause you any trouble? Thanks for taking care of him."

Batman stood stiffly in place, accepting Clark's handshake and Diana's hug. After a long while, he squeezed out a sentence: "I don't think he needs taking care of."

"Too modest, sir." Clark led Batman toward their house. Their base was a treehouse built on a huge tree, built into a cylindrical shape around the trunk. There were some small houses on the small trees next to it, connected by wooden suspension bridges.

Walking out of the largest treehouse, Batman saw a primeval forest. Clark showed an apologetic smile and said.

"The conditions here might not be as good as yours, but our luck isn't bad. The natural environment here is very good, and the land is also very fertile. I'm discussing with Diana about getting some prey back."

"Are you going hunting?"

"There is a river around here, there should be fish." Diana nodded and said: "I was very good at fishing and hunting when I was on the Amazon island, so I'm going to fish. If I run into animals drinking water, I'll kill one back for our dinner. Clark will go do something else."

Batman frowned slightly, because in his view, Superman could fly and had heat vision, even roasting meat was saved—kill it and eat it now. Isn't he the best candidate for hunting?

But now it sounded like Diana was responsible for hunting. Then what was Clark going to do?

Less than two minutes later, Batman knew.

Clark stood on the soft primeval forest soil, crushing a bit of mud, looking at Batman with bright eyes and saying: "The soil here is very, very fertile, and it hasn't been reclaimed. The fertility is very sufficient. I think we can cut down this forest, then burn it. As long as we turn it over a little, it will be a piece of top-grade farmland."

"I went to check over there before. There are no potatoes here, but there is a similar plant root. The raw taste is slightly sweet, and you can feel granular objects, which should contain starch. It's a good staple food. There are some berry bushes over there, which are in the fruiting period, and can also be transplanted here, so vitamins will also be there."

"Wait." Batman interrupted him and said: "Are you doing primitive survival here?"

"No, it doesn't count as survival. After all, we can live without eating." Clark shook his head. Batman just breathed a sigh of relief, and then he heard Clark say: "But with such good land, isn't it too wasteful not to plant something?"

"We've tested it before. We participate in the game, and the time here flows normally. And with so many teams to decide the final winner, it will take at least a few months, right? That's enough to plant a season of crops."

Looking at Clark's fanatical eyes, Batman vaguely recalled that Bruce seemed to have said something about farming at the end, but he left too hurriedly and didn't listen carefully.

Thinking about it, what Clark said wasn't unreasonable. After all, Clark and Diana didn't need to eat, but Batman did. To maintain the best state, he must also have comprehensive nutrition. Relying on nutrient injections wouldn't last long.

Batman just nodded, and Clark flew directly into mid-air, then grabbed his arm and lifted him up. The two flew to a height of at least 500 meters.

Then Batman watched helplessly as Clark used heat vision to draw a circle in the primeval forest of at least 100 square kilometers, and said in an excited tone.

"This is our first-phase test field. Let's start!"
