Chapter 1972: Lighting the Wonder Dream in the Heart (Part 2)
The superheroes in the room looked at one another, unable to react to what Nick was saying for a moment. Finally, Captain America, who had experience in this area, spoke up: "Someone wants to buy out our likenesses for profit?"
"Not a buyout." Nick shook his head and said, "You are living, breathing people. The primary owner of the rights to use your portraits is naturally yourselves, so no one can buy out your likenesses."
"We are still discussing the specific method of cooperation, but I must come and ask about your willingness to cooperate. After all, if this project really launches, it will certainly be a major one, and the negotiation cycle will be measured in years. You don't need to worry about the details; don't you know me by now?"
Steve immediately smiled and said, "That is the one thing I worry about the least. You would never let us be taken advantage of."
"However, it is clear that this matter is not that simple." Schiller shook his head and said, "Is the entertainmentization of superhero images a good thing? What kind of impact will this have? Will it cause any harm? These are all things that need to be evaluated."
"The method of cooperation is very important." Nick said, "We cannot let them just find any director and film the superheroes into whatever they want. That would greatly mislead the public and would not be conducive to the image of superheroes. Any use of the images must be supervised."
"That sounds quite harsh. Will they be willing?" Stark said, resting his head on one hand, "Disney is a big company; they have no rivals in terms of entertainment and cultural dissemination."
"Still the same point: what they want to operate is a real-person IP, which isn't something that can be solved just by money. If you simply refuse to sell, they have no way around it."
"My impression of them is still stuck on Mickey cartoons." Steve thought for a moment and said, "I know, this might be a bit outdated, but their animated films are indeed quite good."
"This is also the reason why I came to talk to you." Nick rested his hands on the table and said, "Disney's scale is large enough, and they have a lot of experience in operating such IPs. If it were those small companies, this plan wouldn't even reach you."
"Precisely because of this, we should be even more cautious." Matt spoke up, "This company's legal department is very formidable. If any dispute arises, we might not be able to gain the upper hand. Moreover, they control public opinion; if something really happens, it will be easier to affect the image of superheroes."
"So we haven't confirmed the cooperation yet. Whether to cooperate and how to cooperate is up to you to decide. I think we are worth a try." Nick said.
The young heroes in the back row had already started chattering away. Their knowledge of this company was much stronger than that of these older heroes. Once they heard that Disney might make movies for them, they were all extremely excited.
"We don't have to decide at this meeting either." Nick stretched out his hands and said, "However, in order for us to better experience their corporate culture, the person in charge has invited all of us to visit Disney World in Orlando."
The back row immediately erupted into deafening cheers, while the adults in the front row sighed in unison. It wasn't that going to Disneyland was such a childish thing, but one had to look at the current situation.
The Battleworld had only just opened, and which other universe wasn't busy organizing personnel to analyze the rules and fight for benefits for their own universe and the organizations they belonged to?
Everyone had originally thought that Nick would be very focused on this matter. Now it seemed he was focused, but not entirely focused—he actually had the time to organize everyone for a trip.
Nick sighed and said, "This is the first large-scale group activity since the establishment of S. H. I. E. L. D. Everyone must participate; no leave is allowed. All your expenses in the park will be reimbursed by the park. You must at least set aside half a month to carefully examine the corporate culture; a month is also fine."
Now they knew why Nick had so much leisure time. The key lay in "all expenses reimbursed by the park." Nick was similar to Schiller; he had contracted a disease where he would die if he didn't fleece the sheep.
"After returning, everyone must write a tour report, which must include the tour experience of every park area. No missing parts, no slacking off, and most importantly, you must talk about the efforts S. H. I. E. L. D. has made in maintaining your physical and mental health. It's the end of the year; don't make it difficult for me when I report to Congress."
The successive sighs formed a sharp contrast with the excited chattering in the back row.
Finally, Schiller asked, "Free activity or group tour?"
"Of course it's free activity. All S. H. I. E. L. D. agents above level six are going. I have to watch that group of young agents to prevent them from playing too wildly and having no time to manage you."
"By the way, you can bring family members. Submit the list of participating personnel to me within three days; no late submissions."
Nick finally slapped the table and said, "Friday morning at seven, gather at S. H. I. E. L. D. headquarters. There will be a special plane to take us to the destination. Be careful not to be late."
"Also, this is not a park buyout tour, so it is inevitable that you will encounter some fans who recognize you. Keep a good attitude, especially you, Tony. If fans want a photo, you absolutely cannot show impatience."
Nick looked down at his watch and said, "You still have four days of preparation time. Arrange your work and everything, then go to Disneyland and play for half a month. Alright, meeting adjourned!"
When Schiller walked out the door, he heard Stark complaining to Steve: "How old are we this year? We actually have to be led to an amusement park. What is there to sit on those Ferris wheels and merry-go-rounds? Only wet-behind-the-ears brats like them."
"But I heard that Disney World in Orlando is the largest Disney amusement park in the world. It should be a bit different." Steve said this, and after shrugging his shoulders, he said, "It's nothing to go and play. I've almost never been to an amusement park."
"No way, does that mean you've never sat on a merry-go-round?"
"I don't know if the merry-go-round in the park playground is the same as what you imagine, but that's the only one I've sat on, the one my dad took me to when I was a kid."
"Heh, that only has one layer, right? A real merry-go-round has two layers, and some even have three. The first layer is horses, the second layer is all kinds of cradles, and the third layer is small wooden horses for children. There are little angels painted on the ceiling, and there are all kinds of light bulbs on the partitions of each layer..."
"Aren't you very knowledgeable about amusement parks?"
"Ahem... my parents took me there when I was a kid, but when I was very young. Wouldn't it be very awkward for an adult to line up for a merry-go-round? I don't want to hear those little brats calling me uncle."
"But you can go with Pepper. Aren't you two preparing to hold a wedding? I heard that Disney weddings are very romantic. Maybe you can use your armor to set off fireworks over the castle."
"Forget it, they won't agree."
"How do you know if you don't try?"
The conversation gradually fell silent, or perhaps the two had walked far away. Schiller waited at the door for a while before Nick finished packing his things and came out. Schiller pulled him over and asked, "How many family members can I bring?"
Nick looked him up and down and said, "Theoretically, you can't bring too many, otherwise it will look very much like taking advantage."
Schiller snapped his fingers and said, "Understood."
Ten minutes later, Lucifer, who was sitting in the Sanctuary drinking tea, spat out a mouthful of water and shouted in disbelief at the other end of the phone:
"Invite Superman and Batman to Disneyland?! Schiller, do you want to listen to what you are saying?!!!"
"I invited Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent, and of course Diana Prince. They are not superheroes yet, are they? Could it be that people in this world with these names can't go to amusement parks?"
"You mean the Justice League of the universe you are in?" Lucifer took out a handkerchief to wipe the water stains on his chest and said with some surprise, "That seems to make some sense, but why did you suddenly think of this?"
"I see you are quite bored too, so I invited you, and invited them by the way, so you can bring them over on your way." Schiller held the phone with one side of his head, and while writing in the medical record book, he said, "The other angels can't stop you from going out for a trip invited by a friend, so you can get rid of the boring Heaven guard work. Killing multiple birds with one stone, right?"
Lucifer immediately became interested. He sighed and said, "Now the vast majority of duelists have returned to their own reality to rest. The remaining players can't match with anyone and can't start the game. Owen is drafting a new list of contestants, but it will take at least a month for the game atmosphere to recover."
"So this just fills the blank period, doesn't it?" Schiller handed the written medical record book to the nurse next to him, walked back to his desk, sat down, and said, "Have you ever been to an amusement park?"
"Hmm, last time Angela's children were clamoring to go, so I accompanied them once. Honestly, only species that can't fly like to build a machine to throw themselves into the sky and flip back and forth. What is the point of this?"
"But I heard Bruce say before that you quite like swinging on swings in the Garden of Eden."
"That was all when I was a kid." Lucifer immediately defended, "And those amusement facilities are completely different from swings. They use electricity. You can't use this to demand that someone stay by your side to play with you, so that's why I said it has no meaning."
"So usually God pushes you?"
"Occasionally, he is very busy."
"So are you going or not?"
"I reluctantly agreed."
"There's no need to be reluctant. Perhaps I should find Gabriel?"
"Forget it, have you forgotten that he sheds feathers? Before getting on the pendulum, he has 140 pairs of wings, and after getting off, not a single pair is left. That would seriously destroy the image of angels in the hearts of children."
"Then it's settled. We'll see each other in three days. You figure out how to get over here yourself."
After hanging up the phone, Lucifer sighed, only to find a hand pressed on his shoulder. He looked back and saw it was Uriel.
Lucifer hurriedly spread his wings, but Uriel said, "Are you going out to play with friends? Go ahead, leave this place to us."
Although Lucifer felt a bit strange about his sudden understanding, he still hurriedly walked toward the portal.
"You just let him go like that?" Michael stood behind Uriel, looking at him, also wondering why this archangel, who had always been fair and incorruptible, had suddenly become so easy to talk to.
Uriel also sighed and said, "He enters and leaves Heaven wearing a motorcycle jacket every day, which would seriously destroy the image of angels in everyone's hearts."
Michael patted him on the shoulder again. ===== CHAPTER 1973 =====
