Chapter 2269

~11 min read 2,141 words

Compared to the Spider-Men, the Robins from the two universes were not only at a slight disadvantage in numbers, but also inferior in physical fitness, speed, and danger perception. Moreover, the Spider-Men were quite united; once they discovered they had a common enemy, Peter was no longer the target of the hunt and was pulled back in. The Spider-Men worked in perfect harmony, using their water guns to launch a fierce attack on the gap.

For a time, the Robins were suppressed quite miserably. The lounge chair area had completely fallen, and it looked like they were about to be pushed to the edge of the pool. Any further forward, besides the swimming pool, was just the remaining deck space; any further back, and they would have to go into the sea.

Both the Spider-Men and the Robins were clear on this point, so they silently and tacitly decided on the goal for victory: whoever entered the sea first would lose.

But just then, the Robins' turning point arrived. Bruce and Selina came around from the changing room corridor. Selina waved her finger and pointed upward, saying, "Go from above, go get the guns!"

The Robins finally realized it. The Spider-Men nearby had taken their water guns from the water park's toolbox; each of them had one, and some even had dual guns. The Robins, on the other hand, only had the two guns they had snatched from the first few Spider-Men who had fallen. Jason and the others had come in a hurry and only brought one gun; their firepower was too weak to form any effective suppression.

They immediately divided their tasks and coordinated. Red Hood and Nightwing, who had the most firepower, dealt with the Spider-Men's attack from the front, while Red Robin led the younger Robins up the stairs beside the pool, walking through the upstairs corridor to circle around to the door opposite the water park, sneaking in to get the guns.

A line of sneaky figures ran along the stairs. Batman, who was blowing in the sea breeze on the deck, turned his head in confusion. How did he seem to hear Tim's footsteps?

Another Batman saw it even more clearly—that was Bat-Bane, because he was right at the doorway of another entrance to the water park. He had also come over for a drink and intended to pass through the water park to the bar, but ended up witnessing this great battle.

Watching the string of sneaky figures pass overhead, Bat-Bane guessed they must be trying to get weapons. Now that he was idle anyway, after Red Robin and the others snuck in through the door crack, he followed them in.

"Oh, shit, the door is locked." Jason lowered his voice and said, "They were prepared early on; they knew we would come to steal!"

He stepped forward to examine the heavy lock and turned to the others, saying, "It's just a regular lock. The lock on the utility room should be standard equipment on the ship. There aren't any valuables inside, so the lock shouldn't be hard to pick, but I need tools."

Dick and Tim felt around on themselves but couldn't find any tools to pick the lock. They had all changed into swimsuits and basically had nothing on them. Red Robin wasn't wearing his uniform and only had two coins in his pocket, and Aisha, with her iron teeth and copper fangs, had been left with Selina. Everyone looked at Barry.

"Fine, I'll make a run back to get some. What do you need?"

"A piece of wire will do."

No sooner had Jason finished speaking than a piece of wire was handed over. He exclaimed as he took it, "God, as expected of the Flash, you're too fast!"

"Wait a second, this isn't wire. Isn't this a specialized lock-picking hook? Where did you get this thing?"

Jason looked up and found his companions opposite him staring at his back in horror. Jason had a bad premonition. He slowly turned his head and saw two pitch-black pointed ears.

"Ah!!!!!!!!!"

Jason's scream quickly attracted the attention of many Spider-Men. After he finished screaming, he realized he had blown his cover. In a rush, he shoved the Batman blocking the doorway aside, picked the lock in a few quick motions, rushed inside, and started throwing water guns out one after another.

The water guns were quickly passed to the end of the line, but there was no water in the guns. However, a small squad of Spider-Men had already landed and were launching a fierce attack toward them.

Each person holding two guns, the Robin squad quickly retreated to the nearest pool and began to load the guns with water. But as luck would have it, this pool was the children's play area. Although the water was shallow, there were several huge rotating water-spraying nozzles in the center of the pool. As soon as they rushed in, they fully experienced the joy of playing in the water outside instead of going home during a rainstorm.

They didn't even need the Spider-Men to hit them; these nozzles sprayed them into a daze. Their heads, faces, and bodies were covered in water, and they couldn't even open their eyes. They couldn't tell the direction or see the path, and all they could do was cover their faces with their hands and keep wiping the water away.

Seeing this, the Spider-Men didn't dare to rush in either. Some of their masks weren't waterproof, and rushing into such a high volume of water would soak the masks, causing them to suffocate. They all dawdled around the edge of the pool, wanting to wait until this group passed through the pool before attacking.

Suddenly, with a squeak, the water from the spray guns stopped. Jason, who was soaked like a drowned rat, turned his head and saw Batman leaning against a switch by the wall.

The next second, everyone took off running, because the Spider-Men had already rushed in. But no matter how shallow the water was here, it was almost up to their knees. Every time someone ran, they kicked up huge splashes, and their speed couldn't pick up at all. To maintain their balance while lifting their legs, they had to raise their arms as high as possible. For a moment, the group looked like they were performing a ritual dance in the pool.

Finding that running this way was truly inefficient, Jason turned his head and saw the nearest set of stairs. He waved his hand, and the squad charged toward the stairs.

This was a slide area for children around 1.3 to 1.4 meters tall. Several slides wound around a frame of varying heights, connected by children's off-road-style suspension bridges, pedals, and hand-held grappling ropes, while stairs leading to the ground branched off in various directions.

After Jason went up the middle staircase, he ran across the suspension bridge at top speed, immediately climbed to the higher step, flipped over the water bucket hanging above, and splashed a bucket of water onto the head of the leading Spider-Man.

This bought his other teammates precious time. Figures of all sizes passed through the suspension bridge at top speed. After climbing the stairs, Red Robin identified the direction and said, "The orange slide over there is closest to us."

The group charged toward that side, but at this moment, a bucket of water splashed onto Red Robin's head. He spat a few times, wiped his hair vigorously, and looked up to see a Spider-Man had already climbed to the very top.

At the very top of the entire slide area was a huge water bucket. When the water was full, it would automatically tilt and pour down, and clearly, this Spider-Man who had climbed up wanted to speed up the process for this bucket.

Jason recognized at a glance that this was definitely that student of Schiller's; he must have been lying in ambush here early on.

"RUN!!!!!!!!!!!"

Accompanied by a roar, the squad charged toward the entrance of the orange slide at top speed, but they were still a step too late.

Whoosh—!!!!!!!!!!!

The waterfall poured down, instantly knocking everyone off balance. This tactic of harming the enemy by a thousand while suffering eight hundred oneself caused other Spider-Men to protest.

Seeing the infighting on the other side, the Robins immediately climbed up, crawled over another suspension bridge, climbed the steps, stepped over the hollow pedals spaced about half a step apart, and arrived at the entrance of the orange slide, sliding in one after another like the pulp in orange juice.

After landing, there was a deeper pool. The water here was at least 1.5 meters deep, which meant they could finally swim. The turning point was that everyone on the Robins' side could swim, but the Spider-Men could not.

Although it sounds strange, when it comes to learning to swim, the level of athletic development is not the deciding factor. Some people are naturally resistant to buoyancy; as soon as they hit the water, they sink straight down like a plumb bob.

This is not quite the same as swinging around in the high air. Buoyancy brings a sense of instability, making people feel like they are drifting with the tide. Some call it lightness and stability, while others find it full of danger. There is also a theory that the more sensitive a person is to danger, the harder it is to learn to swim.

It was very obvious that after entering the waist-deep pool, the Spider-Sense of some Spider-Men began to sound a faint alarm; their postures became stiff, and their speed slowed down.

This caused them to lose quite a few people at this stage. Fortunately, several of the main pursuers could swim. Although they were still a step behind the Robins, once they were out of the water, the water gun streams could fully hit them.

The Robins were sprayed until they were screaming and yelling, charging toward the gap regardless of anything else. But the Spider-Men at this location were confronting Red Hood and Nightwing outside, and a team of people rushed out from somewhere, squeezing directly through them.

Disrupting the formation was one thing, but then a stream of water from nowhere hit them, making them howl in misery. The gap instantly became a mess, and the Robins took the opportunity to throw the guns they had loaded with bullets to their companions.

Seizing this good opportunity, the Robin party used water streams to disrupt the Spider-Men's formation at top speed and successfully recaptured the gap.

At this time, Bruce and Selina were sitting behind the bar, drinking while watching their water fight with great interest, occasionally commenting on the strategies of both sides.

Just then, they saw two figures walk up wearing bath towels. It was Clark and Natasha. Clearly, Natasha had taken the opportunity of returning the clothes to strike up a conversation with Clark, and the two were chatting quite happily.

"Hey, why are you two sitting here instead of swimming?" Clark walked over with a smile and patted the back of Bruce's chair.

He had already changed into his swim trunks, revealing his upper body like a classical sculpture. Clearly, he intended to come over for a couple of laps. Natasha had also showered beforehand; both of them had wanted to come over to swim.

"I advise you not to go any further." Bruce took a sip of his drink and advised without turning his head.

Clark and Natasha had actually already heard the commotion ahead, but just from the noise, they couldn't tell what was going on.

The two didn't believe it and walked out from the bar. Both were sprayed in the face with water at the same time. While Clark was still wiping his face in a daze, the female agent had already rushed out in anger.

Jason only felt a massive red whirlwind scrape past him, simultaneously taking away the water gun in his hand. Then he heard "pssh-pssh-pssh-pssh," and the Spider-Men were beaten into a panicked retreat. When it comes to gunfight experience, you still have to look to the Soviet veteran.

After wiping the water off his face, Clark looked at the scene ahead in surprise, and only then did he understand that they were having a water fight. He relaxed, raised his hands, walked to the side of the pool, and with an extremely fluid motion, jumped into the water like a vigorous fish and began to swim.

Just as he swam to the middle of the pool, Natasha grabbed the ankle of Peter, who had just sprayed her in the face, and performed a big loop. Peter flew precisely out of the gap and, with a "thud," smashed Clark into the pool.

"OH!!! MY BACK!!!!!!"
