Chapter 2400: The Battle of the Bats (Part 19)

~10 min read 1,859 words

Harley's group finally met the boss of the Wildfire Gang. She was called Cindy, a girl who looked very rebellious, and her ability was controlling fire.

What was surprising was that the place where she was was not a house, but a school in Paris. From the text on the bulletin board and the books in the office, it could be seen that it was a middle school.

After the group broke into this school, they found that it was not heavily guarded like the road they came from, but very quiet, even to the point of being called peaceful and beautiful.

When they walked in, Cindy was sleeping on a desk. Harley had to wake her up, and then almost had her eyebrows burned by the suddenly appearing flames.

Cindy stood up. Harley then saw clearly that this girl was about the same age as her, with black hair, and an angry expression made her look puffed up.

"Rude intruders!" She roared.

"Calm down." Harley shrugged and said, "We just want to know what exactly is going on. If you are not willing to tell us, we might have to take some violent means."

Cindy just wanted to speak, but Barry walked out and pressed Harley's shoulder, saying, "Don't say that, Harley. Perhaps we don't have to understand David to save him."

The rebellious girl called Cindy curled her lips, looking very reluctant. However, under the gaze of the crowd, she still said, "If you want to save someone, go to the castle and take a look. The boss of the X-Alliance has already gone over. I don't have the answer you want here."

"Who are you?" Batman asked.

"I am Cindy. If you mean who I am in reality, I am one of David's middle school classmates."

"His first love?"

"Of course not." Cindy rolled her eyes and said, "David has never been in love, because he is a poor little guy who is squeezed out by others."

"School bullying?"

"It doesn't count." Cindy sighed, turned around and sat on the table, dangling her legs and saying, "His spirit is not normal, he always says strange things, and almost everyone knows he is a mutant. Mutants are very unwelcome here, several times more unwelcome than in the United States."

"You should have met Susan on the way here, right? The little girl who can manipulate emotions. She is actually David's classmate..."

Charles narrowed his eyes and said, "Impossible, the little girl looks like she is in the third grade of elementary school."

"Don't forget this is his mental world. We are just things he imagined. What we are like depends entirely on his subjective view. In his mind, Susan is a naive child, because she once led the whole class to bully David with pranks."

"In David's view, Susan is a naive ghost who can mobilize his emotions and make them explode, so she has such ability."

"Then what about you? What is your relationship with her?"

"We two are friends, to be precise, I was her best friend in junior high school. In order to retaliate against Susan, I lit her coat with a lighter, successfully making her let out a terrible scream."

"So your ability is fire control?"

"Almost." Cindy lowered her eyes and said, "You should have come from the guy who looks like David, right? What did he tell you?"

"He said the guy in the castle who calls himself David is not David."

Cindy curled her lips and said nothing. And Batman asked further, "Do you know who the person who calls himself Lord-Trauma is?"

"Just like his name." Cindy replied, "He is David's most primitive trauma."

"What is that?"

Cindy shook her head and didn't answer. Before Batman continued to ask, she said, "Things are not as simple as you think. However, if you really want to solve the problem, go to the castle and take a look."

The conversation with Cindy ended like this. No matter how they asked later, Cindy was not willing to tell them more. Even if they wanted to take unreasonable means, they were just driven out of the school.

"It can be seen that Cindy's attitude toward our group of intruders is ambiguous." Batwoman said, "It seems she doesn't welcome our arrival, but thinks we can solve the problem."

"She has a strange passivity." Harley judged, "Like that Lord-Trauma, since they found so many people and established these two organizations, they must want to do something. But after we came, the attacks and resistance we encountered were not fierce. After we found them, they didn't explain their philosophy to us at length like a real organizer. They should have done so."

Batwoman turned to look at Batman beside her. Batman frowned slightly, obviously already lost in thought.

However, Batman soon spoke, "Have you found that your thinking has slowed down?"

Everyone was stunned. Batwoman was the first to say, "It seems there is such a problem. Every few seconds, my brain will be blank. It has been like this since just now."

Charles looked around and said, "Maybe the bandwidth is not enough, but if Spider-Man has left, that's impossible. Wait, what is that?"

Everyone followed his gaze and saw a black shadow floating in the air on the distant skyline. Seeing that figure, Batman sighed and said, "Now we know why it's lagging."

That figure was Superman.

Clark landed and looked at White Tank with disbelief, "I might have seen it wrong."

"What did you see?"

"Batman."

"Are there other Batmen here?"

"That's not the point, the point is... Batwoman."

"Ah?"

Batwoman sighed, stretched out a hand, retracted two fingers, and then gradually retracted the remaining three, "Three, two, one..."

With a 'bang', a figure landed. After the dust settled, the first thing that appeared in front of everyone was that bright red cape.

"What the hell?" Clark rushed to Batwoman's side with a 'whoosh', and then rushed to the other side with a 'whoosh', looking at Batwoman up and down, left and right.

Batwoman rolled her eyes imperceptibly and said, "This is why I call him the Kryptonian search and rescue dog..."

"Hello." The male Batman spoke, trying to stop Clark from continuing to circle Batwoman, but Clark was obviously shocked by the female Batman, like a hyperactive child who couldn't stop at all.

"Superman!" Batman had to raise his volume.

Then Clark stopped. Seeing Batman beside him, he showed a very obvious guilty expression.

And everyone around wanted to ask, what the hell are you feeling guilty about.

"Uh, hello, Batman, that, I mean... so you are here too, how have you been lately?"

"Not bad." Batman answered in a serious and perfunctory tone, "Where did you come from?"

"Over there." Clark pointed to the direction they came from.

This made even White Tank start to sigh. He had to add, "The Alfred of their universe passed away. A monster impersonated him, polluted Batman, and deleted his emotions. Now Batman is in a brand-new mechanical body that was just manufactured, but his psychological problem has not been solved, so he has no combat power for the time being."

As soon as White Tank finished speaking, he heard a 'bang, bang, bang' sound from afar. For a time, the earth shook, and two huge figures appeared behind the crowd. They were two Tyrannosaurus Rexes.

Following behind them was the Time Manipulator. After landing, he opened his mouth and said, "I know you are going to the castle, but you can't leave the city by ordinary methods. I can take you there."

And the female Tyrannosaurus behind him used her head to rub against the Bat-Rex beside her, while the Bat-Rex lowered his head and sighed.

Clark felt that the color scheme of this dinosaur was a bit familiar, and the moment the Bat-Rex spoke, he widened his eyes.

"You should be a gentleman to this lady." A voice came, and the Bat-Monster Car turned his wheels and curled his non-existent mouth.

Clark turned his head to look at him again, and at this time his eyeballs were about to fall out of his sockets.

However, the Bat-Rex stared at another figure, which was the Doomsday Batman standing behind Helen. He lowered his head, brought his head over to sniff, and said, "You remind me of an annoying guy."

"Now is not the time to say this." The Batman wearing a red tight-fitting suit opened his mouth, "We have to find a way to get out of the city and find the guy who calls himself David."

Seeing him, the Time Manipulator walked over quickly and asked, "Did you see the monster in the time flow? What's going on? I've never seen that kind of thing."

Flash Batman ignored him.

Barry sighed deeply and said, "I'm very sorry, but that was brought by us. It is the death of the speedster of our universe and can move in the Speed Force."

"Speed Force? Is it some kind of thing related to time flow?"

"It's hard to explain." Barry spread his hands and said.

It seems everyone is here. Batman looked around, and before he took back his gaze, he had already started to sigh.

The reason was nothing else, everything around was strange.

Batmen who looked like Flash, Batmen with Doomsday spikes, female Batmen, Tyrannosaurus Batmen, off-road vehicle Batmen, Batmen who looked like Spider-Man, mechanical Batmen...

It was as if he was the only normal Batman left in the world.

However, no matter what, Batman was still executing his plan as accurately as possible, and the first step of the plan was to solve the current lag problem.

Batman turned around and patted Clark on the shoulder, and then said to him, "You came from that side, right?"

Clark nodded without knowing why.

"Go back where you came from." Batman said.

Clark widened his eyes immediately, showing a very hurt expression. Before Batman could continue to speak, he argued, "I admit I am very curious about Batwoman, but I didn't say she is stronger than you, and I never thought so, I just..."

"You occupy most of the bandwidth alone." Batman said, "Now we are all lagging. If you don't leave, no one else can act normally."

Seeing Clark still confused, Charles had to explain to him that Legion is a human after all. His mental energy is a lot, but it doesn't mean his bandwidth is enough. It is already a miracle to accommodate a Superman and so many Batmen. Now someone wants to squeeze in, causing them to lag together.

After understanding all this, Clark's gaze fell on the mechanical Batman.

"Don't worry, big guy, we will take good care of him." Harley waved at Clark and said, "If there is no accident, I will personally take him to Dr. Schiller. You just need to leave an address to receive the bill."

Clark still left reluctantly. After he left, the last Batman finally arrived, which was the Batman wearing the Ares helmet brought back by Peter. Before, it was the two of them who had been squeezing in. ===== CHAPTER 2401 =====
