Chapter 2834: Joker and the King (Part 2)

~10 min read 1,882 words

Jack always seemed not to have woken up. His voice was as hoarse as ever, but it carried a kind of distant haziness, not as if he were describing himself, but more like telling a bedtime story.

"This is impossible," Heath Joker became extremely gloomy. He said, "Batman can never save himself."

"That's why I said it was just a dream," Jack smiled and said. "There are always many magical things in dreams. What's impossible about it?"

"You are very special," the Prime Universe Joker circled around Jack again. He said, "But you also look very ordinary. I can't believe you are the Joker corresponding to that Batman, or do you actually have some other abnormalities?"

"I'm just an ordinary truck driver. What abnormalities do you expect me to have?" Jack asked back.

The Prime Universe Joker felt a bit tricky. Even like Napier, he always had weaknesses because he always wanted to show off something. He was calm on the outside but turbulent on the inside, just like Batman.

Facing such an opponent, Jokers were always very confident. Didn't he cooperate with the other two Jokers to shake Napier's mind?

But Jack was different. He didn't seem to want to express anything, nor was he proud of his unique existence. He seemed really ordinary, ordinary to the point of not looking like a madman at all.

He also accepted his identity as Joker well, not giving birth to more pride or complaints because of it. He wasn't like other Jokers, whose every word was about Batman. When mentioning him, there was no hidden pain, like mentioning an old friend he hadn't seen for a long time.

Everything was too plain, as if there was a calmer abyss beneath the calm water surface.

The Prime Universe Joker didn't think that throwing a big rock into it would splash any water. Besides, they didn't even have this big rock now. Jack hadn't revealed any flaws.

The confrontation hidden under the crazy words continued.

The Prime Universe Joker's eyes rolled around, looking at Jack, and said, "In the dream you mentioned, whose son is Batman? Whose arm? And whose student?"

Jack was just about to speak, but the Prime Universe Joker blocked his words and said, "If it's really a dream, there's no need to delve into these details."

Jack snorted coldly and said, "He is the son of Thomas and Martha, the arm of Clark and Diana, and the student of Schiller."

He showed his true colors. The Prime Universe Joker laughed wildly in his heart, but he still asked unhurriedly, "That's really interesting. Did his parents come back to life?"

"You could say that," Jack sat back down, leaned against the big tree, stretched, nodded, and said, "After experiencing a series of very complicated things, his parents were resurrected."

"And his relationship with his friends is also good?" The Prime Universe Joker seemed to have thought of something and said, "That's really rare. Usually, they don't get along that well, although they seem to get along well on the surface, Batman can never become true friends with others."

"No, they have a very wonderful friendship, trusting each other, getting along harmoniously, and even able to stay together every day without getting bored at all."

"And that professor..." The Prime Universe Joker hummed and said, "I've heard a little bit about him. That's also a complete madman. Is it better for Batman to be in his hands than in Hugo's?"

"I'm afraid you underestimate his degree of madness. It was much harder than being in Hugo's hands. In about a year, he spent all his energy trying to graduate from this professor. This was very difficult, but he succeeded."

"Then what about you?" The Prime Universe Joker finally revealed his fangs. He said, "Knowing the process of his self-redemption so well, you can't possibly be a complete bystander, right?"

"Me?" Jack smiled, crossed his legs under the tree, and said, "What relationship do you think I have with him?"

"Parents, friends, teachers, you always have to occupy one. Which one do you think you are closer to?" The Prime Universe Joker asked.

"Perhaps friends," Jack answered very easily. He smiled and said, "Although we have a bit of an age gap, we felt we hit it off when we first met, and we chatted quite well later."

"Just like that?" The Prime Universe Joker continued to press, "Then who do you think has a better relationship with him compared to Clark?"

"Of course Clark. The two of them are perhaps best friends," Jack looked like he wouldn't be fooled at all, although this statement had already made all the Jokers look sideways.

Come on, which Joker would think Superman is Batman's best friend?

"Oh, I forgot to mention one identity, which is enemy," the Prime Universe Joker seemed to have just remembered and asked, "Are you two enemies?"

"Didn't I say we are friends?"

"Were you friends from the very beginning?"

"There was a period of tit-for-tat, but don't you and your friends have that? Or do you have no friends at all?"

The Prime Universe Joker was choked. Now he was sure that this guy must be the Joker of that special Batman, because he always saw the same choked expression on the Prime Universe Batman's face.

"Oh, I forgot too," Jack suddenly fumbled in his jacket pocket and said, "We do have a special relationship."

He took out a slip of paper, shook it in front of the Prime Universe Joker, and said, "I am his creditor. This is an IOU he wrote to me. It's for a full 100 dollars."

The Prime Universe Joker snatched the IOU, but immediately laughed wildly and said, "You are really good at dreaming! This IOU is signed with Bruce Wayne's name, but who can't sign this name? You must have written it yourself while sleepwalking in the middle of the night!"

"You actually dream of being Batman's creditor," Phoenix Joker walked over, patted Jack on the shoulder, and said, "I have to say, this is a great dream, but it's even more absurd than the dream you described before."

Jack glanced at him. At this time, the Prime Universe Joker tore the IOU to shreds, opened his big mouth to reveal his teeth, turned around, and roared at the others: "You all have to listen to me now! Otherwise, I will kill you all!"

Jack just silently opened the communication system.

The Prime Universe Batman watched Bruce and Owlman exchanging glances and silently turned his head away. He didn't know if he had sighed, but Batwoman looked at him with a somewhat strange gaze.

To change the subject, the Prime Universe Batman had to ask, "How are you and Clark?"

"What Clark? Oh, you mean that big dummy? Not so good," Batwoman said. "He's a bit annoying."

"You must have seen that he wants to pursue you."

"Heh," Batwoman sneered, looked at the Prime Universe Batman, and said, "If what he did to me can be called pursuit, then what you two are doing is simply passionate love."

The Prime Universe Batman was speechless.

Batwoman rolled her eyes slightly and said, "I won't try to resurrect Silvius because I know there's no free lunch in this world. I'm also not necessarily infatuated with a dead person, but Clark has no chance."

"Why?"

"Then why didn't you marry Superman?"

The Prime Universe Batman opened his mouth. He found that he had been led around by Batwoman's logic. He found that this topic was also not very good, so he planned to change another one.

But at this time, Bruce let out a scream.

All the Batmen nearby turned to look at him. They seemed to have become a bit accustomed to this guy's fuss, so after looking, they turned back to do their own things.

Now most Batmen had been sent out to scout the way. This was the Prime Universe Batman's decision because even if they wanted to build a house, they had to choose a good place. The cave they were staying in now wasn't very good because there was no water source and the structure wasn't good. It was best to find a more spacious place.

So except for the team that went to save the most miserable Batman to prepare for battle, other Batmen were on the way to map. Not many people were left, including several Batmen with relatively stable mental states.

But after a while, a blue figure appeared in the cave. The mall interface's mascot, Molecule Man Owen, suddenly appeared in the cave. He looked at Bruce and said, "Why did you call me here? Don't tell me the system has problems again?"

Before Bruce could answer, Owen grumbled and complained, "I said let's test it a few more times, but you were in such a hurry to open the server. If the system has any problems, we have to give compensation, and that stingy guy won't..."

Before he could say anything, Bruce interrupted him and said, "The system has no problems. I want you to help me run an errand and deliver something."

Owen was so shocked he almost jumped up. He cursed, "You called me here just to make me deliver something for you?! Do you know how busy I am now? I..."

"The system has no problems now. If you don't help me deliver it, it might not be the case," Bruce said sinisterly.

Owen immediately shut up. He pursed his lips, reluctantly stretched out his hand, and said, "I'll only run this errand for you once. Where's the thing?"

Bruce casually handed out a piece of paper, and Owen disappeared without even looking at it. The Prime Universe Batman wanted to know what kind of trick he was playing. Batwoman decided to go ask directly, but encountered Owlman, the roadblock, and finally had to give up.

Looking at Bruce's unkind gaze, the Prime Universe Batman knew that someone was probably going to be in big trouble.

A blue portal opened on the canopy of the big tree, and with a "bang," Owen fell in front of a pile of Jokers.

He screamed in fright, then let out a long sigh, stretched out his hand to hand the note to Jack, and said, "Bruce asked me to give this to you. Don't come looking for me again."

After saying that, he disappeared with a "whoosh." Jack took the note, folded it, and put it in his pocket.

Then he was stared at by countless gazes.

"Hand it over." The Prime Universe Joker's eyes almost started to glow green. He gritted his teeth and said, "What did he give you?! Hand it over!!!"

Jack took the note out of his pocket as if he didn't care, slowly stood up, as if he had finally woken up, and held the note high.

All the Jokers' gazes were fixed on that thin piece of paper.

Jack seemed to have finally woken up. He regained the Joker's spirit, raised his hands, and shouted, "That's right, this is the IOU Batman wrote to me—"

"Now, who is the boss?!"

Birds were startled, and only high-pitched and crazy laughter echoed in the valley.

"Jack... it's Jack!!!!"

"Hahahahahahahahahahaha!" ===== CHAPTER 2835 =====
