Chapter 2936: Leisure Time (17)
In the process of Pamela manipulating plants, Tim explained the current situation to her in more detail.
"The FBI, S. H. I. E. L. D., and Hydra have a very subtle balance. On the surface, both the FBI and S. H. I. E. L. D. have the obligation to deal with Hydra. These two righteous organizations should stand together to fight evil."
"But the fact is not that simple. The FBI and S. H. I. E. L. D. have a serious funding competition relationship because their functions overlap. For some cases between superpowers and non-superpowers, there are too many gray areas to argue about."
"This leads to the fact that neither side can take too heavy a hand on Hydra, but they can't not take action."
"They can't take heavy hands because if the rats in their jurisdiction are gone, the cat's role won't be reflected. And they can't not take action because if the rats are rampant and climb onto the dining table, it will show that the cat is useless."
"Both sides are just scratching the surface. On one hand, raising bandits for self-respect, and on the other hand, brushing achievements with limited shots. Whoever controls it more cleverly, reflecting more achievements with limited Hydra resources, can get more funding."
"Some of the FBI's previous actions caused S. H. I. E. L. D. to lose funding. In order to find the place, S. H. I. E. L. D. united with Hydra to first drive the FBI, which can also take action against Hydra, out of Los Angeles, and then make a big fuss in Los Angeles, and then S. H. I. E. L. D. will come out to clean up."
"The West Coast is the FBI's territory. This can not only lose the FBI's face but also show S. H. I. E. L. D.'s achievements."
"Not to mention, making a big fuss at the congressman's party while the FBI's defense is empty can also alienate the two, making the FBI lose face in Congress."
"Since ancient times, party strife is nothing more than this. Either the east wind suppresses the west wind, or the west wind suppresses the east wind. S. H. I. E. L. D.'s power lies in their closer connection with Hydra. At critical moments, it's no longer raising bandits for self-respect, but using Hydra to give the FBI a heavy punch."
"But, is the relationship between S. H. I. E. L. D. and Hydra perfectly trusting? This is clearly impossible. There are no two people in the world who are completely concentric, and no two organizations that are completely concentric."
"The interests of S. H. I. E. L. D. and Hydra are consistent, nothing more than S. H. I. E. L. D. relying on Hydra to get funding, and Hydra relying on S. H. I. E. L. D. to hide itself, relying on the umbrella to seek profit for itself with evil deeds."
"Now S. H. I. E. L. D. needs Hydra, they are still a peaceful cooperative relationship, but once Hydra has no utilization value, S. H. I. E. L. D. also has to find a way to suppress Hydra, so as not to let the rats get on the dining table, showing that this cat is useless."
"In Schiller's original plan, to firmly drag the FBI's main force to the border, it was inevitable to invest manpower to fight with agents, which is also what S. H. I. E. L. D. hopes to see."
"On one hand, it is conducive to the funding plan mentioned before, and on the other hand, it can weaken Hydra's strength. It can be said to be killing two birds with one stone."
Tim said this and looked at Pamela again: "But if we intervene, using superpowers to seal the whole mountain, on one hand, it will make the FBI not see the hope of victory, know the difficulties and retreat, and be unable to drag their main force here."
"On the other hand, the FBI and Hydra can't fight, Hydra's manpower can't be consumed, then S. H. I. E. L. D. can't give Hydra more later, otherwise it will be a tail that can't be dropped, and may even take action to suppress it to prevent Hydra from making trouble."
"This will lead to the collapse of the interest community between S. H. I. E. L. D. and Hydra. No matter if Schiller truly belongs to Hydra or is just an undercover agent, in the struggle involving fundamental interests, collective will is not transferred by individual power."
"Nick cannot ignore the overall situation and insist on cooperating with Hydra because of Schiller's existence, and Schiller cannot violate common sense and continue to listen to S. H. I. E. L. D.'s dispatch because of Nick's existence."
"On the contrary, no matter if they are truly considering for the organization they belong to, or just pretending to consider, they must at least show an attitude of cooperation breaking down and blame each other for being ungrateful."
"In order to restrain Hydra, S. H. I. E. L. D. might choose to join forces with the FBI, but in this triangular relationship, if two righteous forces join forces, it will be a bit too strong, and the balance will be broken in an instant."
"Hydra has to face the pursuit of S. H. I. E. L. D. and the FBI alone, which is almost equivalent to being an enemy of the entire U. S. law enforcement system, which is a very unfavorable situation for them."
"For survival, Hydra's choice is only one, and that is to cooperate with the FBI."
"At this time, Hydra joining forces with the FBI to suppress S. H. I. E. L. D. is right in front of them, and that is to make a supernatural assassination incident at the party at the Love Farm, so the congressman can take the opportunity to accuse S. H. I. E. L. D. of dereliction of duty in Congress."
"And isn't the nearest person with superpowers you?"
Pamela blinked. She actually understood, because the logic in it was very smooth and not that complicated.
In a triangular relationship, either one and two are close, or two and three are close, or one and three are close. There are only these three situations in total, and there are only two choices for individuals.
If one and two break up, one's choice is only one, and that is three. If you choose three, you have to deal with two. What you can use is actually the biggest difference in functions between three and two, which is whether you can control people with superpowers.
People with superpowers make trouble, the FBI doesn't have to be responsible, but S. H. I. E. L. D. is hard to blame, which is the best way to suppress S. H. I. E. L. D.
People with superpowers are far away in the sky and right in front of them, and that is Pamela.
This is the most basic thing in factional struggle, using multilateral checks and balances to create capital for oneself.
The most important thing in party strife is to see the fundamental interests of each group, infer their next actions based on this, and then infer the next response of other groups based on this next action.
To some extent, the further you infer, the lower the accuracy, but if you can really hit it, there will be a feeling of knowing things like a god and a great prophet.
Smart people can usually infer five or six steps later, so this time Tim only inferred two steps later, which is not very surprising.
But Pamela still felt a headache.
It was as if her brain lacked some kind of hardware to think about such problems. This knowledge didn't enter the brain!
But Pamela wasn't stupid either. Tim explained it so clearly, she thought about Tim's train of thought once, and felt that there was really no problem. The relationship between these three organizations should be like this, at least there were no loopholes in logic.
She felt that although Tim said he would stumble sooner or later, this kid was clearly holding his breath, intending to see who could make him stumble. To be precise, he wanted to make others stumble more.
Although he didn't think this other person was Schiller, Tim clearly didn't want to be at the bottom. Now there were four forces in total, can't rank as the boss, can't be the second or third?
While thinking, Pamela had already completed the plant blockade of the cliff. Now the plants on the periphery of the whole mountain top were woven into layers of nets, and tall trees like pine trees had also become tree warriors.
Just as Tim expected, lights kept flickering on the beach and at the foot of the mountain. That was clearly the light of standard flashlights. Dark shadows swayed in the woods, and rustling footsteps shuttled through the mountains and forests.
Tim could see more clearly on the second floor. People landed on the beach, and people were also approaching under the small path they came up. From the movements and the appearance of the equipment, it could be judged that it was the FBI.
A tall figure half-squatted behind the dense bushes. He just moved forward two steps, and a hand grabbed his arm.
"Don't you have much jungle combat experience?" Steve's blue eyes were very clear in the dark night, different from Batman's blue eyes. His eye color was lighter, and when he looked over, he was simply like a glowing beacon in the dark night.
Jason shook his head and said, "I can say I only know street fighting."
"Fine, not strange, but don't go out now. The shadows of the trees in front have some problems. Look at that dirt slope... yes, that one over there, don't you think the shape of the tree roots is a bit strange?"
Jason looked left and right, couldn't see anything. He really lacked such experience. Street fighting was a good hand, but regular combat should be forgotten.
"In the jungle, we will use the direction of plant growth to judge the direction of sunlight. Generally, some herbaceous plants reflect it more obviously, but if the tree canopy is too dense and it doesn't distinguish between day and night, we have to observe the trees."
"Moreover, the morphology of tree roots can sometimes explain the distribution of groundwater. I once relied on observing the direction of tree root extension in the tropical rainforest of South America to find fresh water that could be drunk."
"The posture of the tree roots on the dirt slope is clearly wrong. We saw it when we came up. The exposure of the land over there is caused by soil salinization and soil erosion caused by high salt content in coastal fresh water. Theoretically, it's not strange to expose tree roots."
"But it has become a dirt slope, half of the root system is exposed. In order to maintain its own balance, the other half of the root system will dig into the soil harder to pull the tree trunk that is about to fall, but it will still be somewhat tilted."
"This tree's posture doesn't look like it has grown on this dirt slope for a long time. Its exposed tree roots are too fresh, and the tree roots haven't developed stronger and more powerful organizations because of the changes in the dirt slope. Theoretically, if the tree roots are in this posture, this tree would have fallen long ago, but it didn't, which shows that there might be external force support."
Jason observed for a while, didn't find any artificially made pillars, and just when he was staring at this tree, the tree ran away with its legs.
Jason widened his eyes in shock, then went to look at Steve, unexpectedly Steve was also shocked. Steve said, "What I actually wanted to say is, some people will make camouflage above explosives..."
Before they finished being shocked, the pine trees in front ran away with their legs in unison, waving huge branches, and rushed toward the slightly hidden flashlight light.
Steve took a breath and shouted, "Retreat, retreat quickly!!!"
Not long after, they heard the screams of the team members rolling down the hillside. Steve pulled Jason and ran down. Jason didn't forget to carry the wounded.
"Didn't they say this is the only way for killers?! Damn it, the terrorist organization of this era can even turn pine trees against them???"
Jason heard someone scolding. Steve's face didn't look good either. He raised his shield to cover the retreat of the wounded agents, and Jason acted as a porter, carrying several people in two or three moves, and a group of people fled to the foot of the mountain in a mess.
"Head, the intelligence is wrong. Didn't they say it's a Hydra killer? What's going on with these tree spirits? I was just whipped by a vine."
"Me too, something wrapped around my feet. I thought it was a snake, but when I looked down, it actually had leaves!"
"I was almost pressed into a tree hole and drowned! It's really hell!"
The young team members complained. Steve waved his hand, signaling them to stay calm.
Not long after, rows and rows of cars appeared on the road not far away. The FBI's main force had arrived.
The leading agent looked down at the wounded, then looked up at the tree spirits waving their claws, waved his hand, and the FBI's main force left. ===== CHAPTER 2937 =====
