Chapter 346: S: The Radiant Event (21)
At this moment, on the Kree people's new human spacecraft, Venom and Spider-Man were arguing again.
"Let go—I'm operating the forward system, you handle the weapons system! I'm the one who presses the ignition button for the engines!" Venom roared at Spider-Man, his mouth wide open.
"What do you know about spacecraft? This is tech stuff—you go to the armory, I'll fly the ship from the main control room…" Spider-Man shoved Venom aside, but Venom refused to back down, and the two of them jostled each other in front of the control panel.
"Sometimes, being illiterate isn't so bad," Green Spike shrugged. "I can't make heads or tails of all these control panels."
"Don't say that—remember your host is a child now; you should encourage her to learn more knowledge," Blue Spirit interrupted Green. He turned to Shadow and said, "Look, this is why learning matters—if you learned this, you could fly a spacecraft too."
"Really?" Shadow asked hesitantly. "But this looks so complicated—can you really learn it in just a little while?"
"Shadow, come here—I'll teach you how to activate the lighting system," Spider-Man said. Though Shadow's tone was hesitant, her movements were swift; she zipped over to the control panel in a flash.
She rubbed her hands together, excitedly asking, "Really? I can use it? Which button do I press?"
"No, there are no buttons—they use neural interfaces. Come on, place your hand here…"
At that moment, a string of electrical sparks flashed across the ship's floor. A yellow figure leapt up—Amplifier appeared, stretched his neck, and Thunder's voice rang out: "I have to say, the energy conduits here are perfect for a stroll. I just took a walk and found the ship's condition is excellent—probably just left the factory. We hit the jackpot."
"You'd better check again to make sure the communication devices won't reactivate. Their leader, the High Evolutionary, is still a tough nut to crack."
"Relax—I swallowed everything that could emit signals. This ship is completely offline now."
"When do they plan to come up for inspection? With a mage's teleportation portal, this distance isn't too far—or should we move closer?"
"Absolutely not—I haven't figured out how to operate the stealth field yet," Peter's voice came through. "If some Earth astronomer happens to glance this way, we're in trouble. We're still moving the car behind Pluto to use it as a shield."
Green Spike walked over and gazed out the glass window at the vast starfield and the distant sun. He said, "The natural conditions of the Solar System are simply too superior. We've traveled through so many universes and never seen a place so ideal for civilization to develop."
"The sun's age is just right—extremely stable. Mercury is close enough to serve as an energy development outposts. Earth sits perfectly within the habitable zone—truly blessed. And then there's the Moon, a remarkably stable satellite, perfect for your early space experiments…"
"When interstellar colonization begins, Mars will come in handy—and here…" He looked toward nearby Neptune. "A perfectly spaced binary star system, an ideal spacecraft docking port and starport."
"I almost suspect a creator deliberately designed this place. Compared to the Solar System, our homeworld looks like a hostile wasteland."
Crystal's voice echoed in his mind: "What's the Andromeda Galaxy like? Does it have a sun too?"
"The center of the Andromeda Nebula has many stars, but their ages and positions aren't favorable, and there are almost no habitable planets nearby. The only decent one is the twin stars in the Sulphur Dwarf territory."
"Twin stars? Like two Earth-like planets?"
Green's voice sounded weary as he explained to Crystal: "If there were two Earths out there, every other civilization would have teamed up to attack and take them long ago. I've said it before—Earth's habitability is beyond imagination; it could be called a cosmic greenhouse. Even your weak-bodied species could evolve into a planetary civilization here…"
"The Sulphur Dwarfs' twin stars—one has a surface temperature of over five hundred degrees, the other frequently erupts with volcanoes. But their atmospheres and gravity are ideal, so most of the Sulphur Dwarfs live on them."
"But those twin stars are poorly positioned in the universe—far from our core, yet too close to another core of the Andromeda Nebula—the supermassive black hole."
"Though the supermassive black hole is currently stable, no one knows when something might go wrong. That's why the Sulphur Dwarfs have always wanted to wage war and invade us—they're trying to relocate their homeworld."
My Ice Mountain Beauty Wife
Here, Blue Spirit sighed and said, "As for Klinta Star, forget it—it's twenty times Earth's size. Because of its massive mass and great distance from its star, its rotation and revolution are extremely slow, with temperatures constantly below minus 1, 00 degrees. No atmosphere, complete vacuum. Its location is so terrible it gets struck by over two thousand meteorites a year…"
Crystal gasped, hesitated, then asked, "Won't anyone get crushed by them?"
"Thank our creator for turning us into slime," Blue Spirit said sarcastically. "Liquid beings aren't afraid of meteorites—even if hit, some part can always escape. Sure, a few unlucky ones get erased entirely, but no matter—it's easy to split again…"
Crystal shook her head, thinking alien environments were truly hellish.
At that moment, a teleportation portal opened behind them. Stark stepped out first, scanning the spacecraft's interior. Spider-Man saw him and immediately called him over to help study the control panel.
Then came Strange and Loki; finally, Schiller, Nick, and Charles emerged.
Nick also surveyed the spacecraft. Though it was satellite-sized, its engines, weapons systems, and storage occupied over half the space, so the main control room wasn't very large.
At that moment, Schiller called everyone over, gave Nick a glance, and Nick pulled out a document from his pocket, cleared his throat, and read: "According to the draft version of the Human Interstellar Transit Act, all objects lost within the Milky Way and within 100 light-years of it, after 100, 00 years of being unclaimed, automatically become the property of the sole civilization within that star system—the Pan-Human Civilization…"
"Once humanity declares possession, any civilization's infringement upon this property shall be deemed an act of war against humanity, and humanity reserves the right to retaliate."
Nick put away the document and studied the brand-new warship.
"This warship is so battered—it must have been lost for over 100, 00 years, right? I now declare possession. Who agrees? Who objects?"
Blue Spirit stared at the ship's pristine floor and bright interior lighting, speechless.
"Alright, since this version of the act is a draft, there are no rules on objection windows or public notice periods. I'll set it at thirty seconds… Good, since no one objects, this is now humanity's inherent property."
"Of course, to determine the ownership history of this inherent property, we must conduct an investigation. Tony, can you generate a map?"
Schiller turned and called to Stark, who didn't even look back—he simply tapped his arm-mounted system. A small drone flew out of his armor and began spraying patterns on the floor.
The drone drew a bizarre pattern on the floor—like Earth's major tectonic plates forcibly squeezed together, with symbols resembling both letters and Chinese characters inside. The enclosing circle bore faint Mayan decorative motifs, and the outermost thin ring showed traces of tribal iconography.
"Oh, here's a strange pattern—let me see… This looks remarkably like an ancient human civilization's marking," Nick circled the pattern several times, confidently declaring.
"It seems this ship was abandoned here by ancient human civilization. So reclaiming it is only natural. Now, let's erase this pattern and spray an Earth emblem here."
"Alright, procedure complete. Let's take a look at our newest human spacecraft."
Several symbiotes plus Charles stared silently at the massive Earth emblem sprayed in the center of the main control room.
Clearly, their moral standards hadn't kept up with the times, but Nick and Schiller had already approached the control panel. Watching Stark skillfully operate the systems, Schiller asked, "Does this thing have a root directory or something?"
"There's an identification system—strange, different from what humans use. Let me check… Oh, here it is—the underlying protocol…"
"Good. Let's engrave the name we discussed earlier—'Radiance 23'—into the underlying protocol."
After operating for a while, Stark said, "Done. Not just the underlying protocol—all naming protocols have been updated. The warship's insignia, shield shape, and hull patterns are now all Earth-themed."
"How do we handle this ship?" Spider-Man turned to ask them.
"I've figured out how to control the stealth field—we can fly it close to Earth. That way, we can use it to transport materials from the Mercury base."
Stark slapped the control panel. "We don't need teleportation portals anymore. Look—another triumph of technology."
"What about energy? Thunder found the engines and energy conduits, but their power supply system seems designed for that massive planetary warship, using hull-plate conduction." Spider-Man asked.
"I already saw—it's even easier. The so-called hull-plate conduction means flying this ship inside their massive vessel, then charging it by radiating energy fields across its deck."
"So we just need to park this ship near the sun, and it can charge itself."
"Asgardian ships use similar tech—it ensures even non-technical personnel can operate the warship when crew numbers drop."
"It's normal. The endpoint of technological development is simplification and intelligence. If even a normal elementary school child can pilot this ship, astronaut selection thresholds can drop to the bare minimum."
"Alright, let's fly it back first, then continue preparing the Mercury base."
"By the way, since you've seen Magneto's power, let's prepare to show the Kree what true Radiance looks like."
