Chapter 3531: This Man Comes from Krypton (End)

~11 min read 2,025 words

Barry pondered for a long time and finally decided to tell Jor-El what would happen in the future.

He could see that this man was very reliable. More importantly, he must hold a pivotal position on Krypton; otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to bring a child who was supposed to be destroyed home so easily without being discovered by the Council.

To some extent, El's home was very likely outside the Council's surveillance. This meant he could fully utilize this to interfere with the future.

Barry first asked El for a piece of paper, writing while asking: "You should be able to understand the space coordinates of the Green Lantern Corps, right?"

"'Sectors'?"

"That's right."

"Yes. Although they are different from the coordinates we usually use, they can be converted."

Barry wrote a string of text and letters on the paper, handed it to El, and said: "This is where your son will live after Krypton is destroyed. The name of the star system is the Solar System, and the name of the planet is Earth. There should be the star you need there."

El was not shocked by the fact that Krypton would be destroyed; instead, he had an expression of having anticipated it. He took the paper, looked at it, and said with some surprise: "So far away?"

"Yes." Barry began to write and draw again, then said, "What you need to do now is build a spaceship that can automatically navigate there and have it land precisely at this location on Earth."

Barry handed over another piece of paper. El saw it was a floor plan with several continents drawn on it, and an 'X' marked at a certain location on one of the continents.

"Here, your son, Kal-El, will meet adoptive parents who love him very much, spend a happy childhood and youth, and after reaching adulthood, he will go to Metropolis to attend university, become a reporter, and then become a superhero..."

"Superhero?" El raised an eyebrow at Barry.

"Yes, he is a hero. And, if all goes as expected, at this future point in time, he is sharing a room with us."

Barry turned his head to look at the blue sky of Krypton outside the window. El followed his gaze and turned his head, but saw nothing.

But as if he had a feeling, he stood up, his eyes fixed on the curtains gently fluttering in the breeze.

Clark landed on the balcony, reached out to pull back the curtains, and looked at the dusty interior furnishings. His features appeared even softer amidst the dust illuminated by the floating light.

The room was not large, with a sofa in the middle. The leather sofa was covered with a dust cover, and even the sofa legs underneath were well wrapped, showing that the owner of the house hadn't left in a hurry; perhaps they had long been prepared to say goodbye.

Continuing forward was the dining room, with a floral tablecloth spread on the table. The vase in the center of the dining table was still there, but the plants inside had long since turned to dust with the passage of time.

There were no utensils on the kitchen counter. Clark walked over and opened the cabinet, finding that all the tableware and kitchenware had been carefully packed and placed deep inside the cabinet.

Opposite the dining room were two bedroom doors. Clark pushed open one and found a spacious bedroom. All the bedding had also been packed and placed in the cabinet, with no signs of haste.

Clark found a group photo on the table. There should have been only three people in the photo: a man, a woman, and a little boy with gray skin. However, next to this boy, a photo of an infant had been pasted on.

Clark found scissors, glue, and the leftover scraps of another photo next to the group photo.

All of this had been done in a hurry: the tools hadn't been put away, the cutting wasn't very neat, and even the glue was a bit crooked. But Clark couldn't help but smile.

He could imagine that the whole planet was in chaos, and his parents had hurriedly held him, who had just been born, to take a photo, scrambled to cut out the baby's photo, and pasted it onto another photo to make a family portrait.

Outside the window was the turmoil of the entire planet, and inside the house was the warmth and harmony of a family. It had both the sadness of black humor and the romance of taking life and death lightly.

Clark looked carefully at the gray-skinned little boy in the photo and then confirmed that this was H'El. It seemed he was his older brother.

Clark carefully put the photo into his pocket, then continued to the other side of the bed, where he found neatly folded clothes and some daily necessities.

Clark didn't touch these things, just took a photo with his phone. He tried putting his hand on the desk lamp switch, but unfortunately, the light didn't turn on. This meant the energy in the living area hadn't been restored.

Next, Clark returned to the living room and opened another door. This was a nursery.

The floor was covered with colorful sponge puzzle mats, and the walls were painted in many colors, with patterns of little planets drawn on them.

In addition to a baby cradle, a single bed was placed by the window. This place looked a bit messy: books with text Clark couldn't understand, messy comics, toys made of metal and wood, and half a box of daily necessities that looked like they had been organized but not completely.

Clark picked up a building block and found a name carved on the back—"H'El".

It seems this was H'El's room. But then again, Krypton was destroyed not long after he was born, so he probably wouldn't have used the crib. This crib must have been used by H'El.

From the layout of the room, it could be seen that the Kal couple loved this eldest son very much and had taught him well. At least Clark didn't see any signs of violent destruction here.

However, this guy had just rushed to the Solar System and punched Mercury to pieces. He didn't look like a well-behaved child at all.

Unless there was a hidden story behind this.

Clark wanted to see if there were any diaries or something, but after thinking about it, he felt that humans write diaries for commemoration, but Kryptonians have super brains and would never forget anything, so they probably wouldn't have that habit.

He searched the surrounding cabinets and drawers again, and found a crumpled piece of paper in a box under the bed with a few sentences of Kryptonian on it. He couldn't understand it, so he could only collect it and put it in his pocket to show Kara later.

After wandering around the house for a long time, Clark felt there were no more clues. He sat down on the sofa.

But as soon as he sat down, he noticed something stuck under the tabletop of the coffee table in front of the sofa.

He picked it up and looked; it was familiar English, and the handwriting was also very familiar—wasn't this Barry's handwriting?

"Clark, I hope you can see this letter. Your biological father and I are writing to you from our home long ago. Because he doesn't know how to write English, I am doing it on his behalf."

"He said he was very happy to learn that you could become a hero, and he also learned about the trouble H'El caused in our universe. However, he said he already has a way to solve it. The specific method is as follows..."

Clark read through all the content of the letter carefully, revealing an expression of sudden realization.

However, the first thing he did was walk to the front of the stereo in the corner of the living room, move the stereo aside, and find a box underneath.

After opening the box, there were several medals, coins, a stack of photos, two things that looked like ID badges, and a small storage device, similar to a hard drive on Earth.

Clark didn't look carefully, because now was not the time to reminisce about anyone. There was still a big trouble in the Solar System that hadn't been solved, and he had to finish things here as soon as possible.

Clark flew out with the box. Previously, he and Kara had decided to act separately: he would come to his own home to find clues, while Kara would go to the Council building.

Now, with El's guidance, Clark first sent a message to Kara, and then flew toward a building in the city at the fastest speed.

Kara didn't find any information at the Council building; most of the information had been burned, and what remained were unimportant things, mostly meeting records and the like.

She still wrote down the content. After receiving Clark's message, she also flew to the location Clark had sent her. After landing, she looked up at the gate, which read—"Core Energy Research and Maintenance Laboratory".

When she went in, Clark was waiting for her in the lobby. Clark seemed to have been writing some information, and didn't notice Kara walking over.

"Hey," Kara called out.

"You're here," Clark said. "My biological father left me a plan, and I've already thought about how to execute it; I'm sending a message to Oliver. Let's go."

"Where to?"

"The laboratory where my father worked before he died, to get something, and then we can execute the plan."

Kara nodded and followed him forward. Coming to a door, Clark put his hand on it, and the door opened directly.

"So he gave you authorization so that you could execute the plan he left behind in the future?" Kara realized, then said, "But what kind of thing has to be kept in the laboratory, and requires you to come and get it?"

"Of course, it's something very important."

Clark recalled the information in his mind, took several turns, and came to a laboratory door. First, he put his hand on the switch, and then took out the previous ID badge. The scanning light on the door lit up, and the gate slowly opened.

The laboratory inside was much tidier and had no dust. Various facilities were also well preserved, as if someone had been working here yesterday.

Clark came to a piece of equipment, opened the hatch, and pulled the handle hard. A chill spread from within the chamber.

Clark reached out and took out a peculiar object from inside that looked like a huge nail, but was made of silver metal wires twisted in a spiral that shimmered with a faint luster, and there was mysterious red liquid in the glass chamber in the middle.

"What is this?" Kara asked.

"Car keys," Clark said.

Kara was full of question marks, but Clark had already turned around. He took a deep breath, turned to look at Kara, and said: "There might be many things blocking us next, but we must bring this thing to the core."

"Someone blocking us? Where would people come from?!"

"Not people, it could be machines, or it could be a locked gate. But no matter what it is, we must break through."

"You mean..." Kara seemed to have guessed something. After all, she already had a premonition at the breeding center earlier.

Clark looked up, as if looking at something that didn't exist, and said: "There is another super artificial intelligence on this planet, created by Kryptonians, and in the end, it also destroyed Krypton."

On the other side, Oliver on Earth felt his breathing stop after seeing the short message Clark sent.

He thought: Sure enough, everyone in the Justice League is like this; they look fine on weekdays, but when it really comes to the critical moment, they are crazier than the next.
