Chapter 4005: MU: The Super-Body Event (96)
Constantine raised his eyebrows, smoking and said: "Interesting."
The shotgun turned into golden particles and gradually dissipated, and these particles surrounded Constantine's hands. He turned around fiercely, and a huge deep red magic circle lit up at his feet. Two vicious hunting dogs half a person tall rushed out from the magic circle, biting toward Strange.
Strange narrowed his eyes, stood up straight, and formed seals with both hands. A breeze blew his hair and the flowing light in his eyes from top to bottom. The golden magic circle split into four, began to rotate around his body, and then split again, filling all the space around his body and above his head and under his feet.
Strange waved his arms again, and several magic circles flew toward the hunting dogs. The hunting dogs were agile, jumping while rushing, their sharp teeth flashing with cold light, and their drool was flung everywhere. First, they dodged a magic circle flying horizontally, then jumped onto another magic circle, and immediately rushed in front of Strange.
But the next second, the returning magic circle directly cut the huge hunting dog vertically. The turbid energy of deep red exploded instantly. Strange blocked with his hand, and immediately controlled the magic circle again, cutting off the head of the other hunting dog.
Constantine smiled, and stomped his foot. Hunting dogs, lions, tigers, birds, flying dragons, countless blood-colored monsters surged out from the magic circle, rushing toward Strange.
Strange also put away his playful look. The golden magic circle returned to one in front of him. Dazzling light shone suddenly. A violent energy fluctuation scraped across the entire planet like a steel wind, and countless blood-colored monsters dissipated instantly.
Suddenly, a desolate and distant bell sound came from the universe, and an irresistible chill emerged from the bone gaps. The planet turned into a snow scene in an instant, and a huge golden god statue with blurred faces rose from outside the planet, with countless arms behind it emitting light of different colors.
Constantine didn't panic at all, just slightly tilted his head and looked at the arms of the god statue, as if thinking about the source of those powers.
It was Schiller who hurriedly shouted at Strange: "Stop fighting! We are at someone's doorstep!"
Strange then came back to his senses and hurriedly stopped. The god statue gradually dissipated, and the heavy snow gradually stopped. Constantine gently brushed the snowflakes off his black hair with his hand, took a deep breath of the cold air, raised his chin at Strange and said: "Not bad."
"You too." Strange said this sincerely; although it was just these two moves, he couldn't see the depth, but at least it was stronger than most mages in the neighboring universe.
And, Strange really liked Constantine's temper of doing it as soon as he said it; that is a mage. Constantine's kind of chatter, wanting to fight or not, ready to run at any time, is simply a disgrace to mages.
Strange doesn't know how to fight either, even the experience of magic bombardment is very little. He and most Constantines are liars, but what he yearns for is still his teacher, the strongest Sorcerer Supreme, the Ancient One, that kind of martial arts master who fights all over the world. And this black-haired Constantine in front of him is indeed a master.
The other party was obviously ruthless and didn't want to waste time on mutual boasting. He turned his head to look at the Guardians of the Galaxy members tied to the ground, but found that they were all frozen until their faces were blue, looking like they were not far from death.
Gamora spat out a white breath, trembling with teeth, glaring at the two Constantines: You two fought happily, did you consider our life and death? When the dog rushed up, the dog's drool spat all over our faces, followed by those lions and tigers, all stepping over us. A wave of energy fluctuation almost shaved us bald, followed by heavy snow, almost freezing us to death. Damn mages!
"Sharing a few with you is fine," Constantine raised his eyebrows and said, "Just say we captured them together, Batman probably won't ask in detail."
"Many thanks." Strange smiled at him.
Then, Constantine laid the suitcase he was holding flat, opened it, and Strange saw that there were some exorcism props inside, but most of them were religious elements.
Constantine took out a rope engraved with runes from inside, and threw the rope toward the direction of the Guardians of the Galaxy members. The rope bent in mid-air and quickly tied the Guardians of the Galaxy members together.
And then Constantine pulled the rope hard, and several members flew up. Strange pointed his finger, and several people floated in the air.
"Are you also waiting for the patrol ship?" Strange asked knowingly.
Constantine nodded. Strange pretended to complain: "I don't know what's there to open, but it's not good not to come. I originally thought that sitting on the ship for a lap would be enough without going, now it's good, not only don't have to attend the meeting, but also can get a battle merit."
Constantine just looked at the several Guardians of the Galaxy members floating in mid-air, and after a long while he asked: "How did you guys come here?"
"Give up, you damn magician, we won't..." Rocket Raccoon hadn't finished roaring when Star-Lord let out a scream. It turned out that fire was spreading
"He cursed you, why are you hitting me?!" Star-Lord glared at him angrily.
"I don't abuse cats," Constantine replied calmly.
"He's not a cat, he's a fucking raccoon!"
"I'm not a fucking raccoon!"
"Shut up." Strange really couldn't listen to this anymore. When he heard the Guardians of the Galaxy had gone missing, he should have sent people to find them. If he had found them sooner, they wouldn't be making such a fool of themselves here.
"Speak," Constantine said, concise and to the point.
The group still tried to tough it out and stay silent, but then, flames began to spread along the rope in Constantine's hand. Star-Lord let out another scream and said, "I'll talk! I'll talk!"
"It's just that we saw the Green Lantern fleet flying out from here, and we thought there might be a few unlucky stragglers hitching a ride, and then we ran into you, didn't we?"
"No, you were aiming for me," Constantine said. "You thought Constantine was easy to bully, so you picked me to target. Where did you start following me?"
"We didn't... No! Don't! We bought the news at a market in Centauri. It's a black market where you can buy news on every movement in the universe."
"Who sold it to you?"
"Another Constantine, your variant! He said Batman issued a summons, and since most Constantines aren't at the base, now is the perfect time for them to return. So we waited on the only path, and then we found you."
Strange couldn't help but sigh inwardly. This Constantine really didn't hesitate to screw over his teammates; could he even sell this kind of intelligence?
"What did that Constantine look like?" Constantine asked.
Star-Lord pointed tremblingly at Strange.
Strange almost burst into a string of curses, but he still said, "Most Constantines look like me. Isn't there any more specific information?"
"Everyone listen to my command!" The main universe Thor held Mjolnir high. "For the All-Father, for Asgard! Advance!!!"
Strange's lips moved: "Never mind then."
Constantine frowned slightly, seemingly contemplating just how serious the leak of his whereabouts was. However, just then, the patrol ship they were waiting for arrived.
This type of patrol ship was automated, but it contained a massive amount of Parademons, just so that if they collided with an attacker, they could use human-wave tactics to stall the opponent first.
The two Constantines jumped onto the ship with their captives. Strange looked back worriedly at the place where they had been hiding. Schiller hadn't made a sound since he stopped, but he wasn't worried that Schiller hadn't kept up; he was mainly afraid of the bizarre way Schiller might have followed.
"Schiller? Schiller?" Strange called out in his mind.
"Stop shouting, I don't have telepathy," Schiller's voice appeared in his ear.
Strange was speechless for a moment, then asked in his mind: "Where are you? You didn't possess Constantine, did you?"
"No, I'm in his briefcase."
"Huh?"
"There's a demon sealed in a jar in his briefcase. The Gray Mist ate that thing, and now it's squatting in the jar in his form."
Strange couldn't help but give him a thumbs-up in his mind, but then asked with some confusion: "A demon? Which demon? Who was captured by him?"
"Judging by the taste, it's not from our side," Schiller replied. "It should be one he brought with him from their world."
"Why is he carrying a demon?"
"Probably to extract power, and it can be released to bite people when necessary. Maybe it can even be used as a crafting material or something. It has plenty of uses, anyway."
"Then what if he extracts your power?"
"Let him have it. I'm not short on that little bit of power."
"I mean, won't there be any contamination or something?"
The bullet left ripples on the golden magic circle; Strange drew smooth arcs in the air with both hands. "Light and dark guard the heart, soul forever solid!" ===== CHAPTER 4005 =====
"Then what if he wants you to bite someone?"
"I'll bite. It's not like the Gray Mist doesn't bite people."
"Then what if he wants to use you as a crafting material?"
"It would probably blow up the pot."
"And in the remaining small chance, what would he create?"
"It's fine, it shouldn't be able to destroy the universe."
Strange sighed deeply in his heart, feeling a bit of Eternity's helplessness.
The two jumped onto the ship's deck. Strange pushed the door open and looked inside. Fortunately, Parademons are usually kept in jars; although they look a bit scary, it's not a big problem as long as you don't touch them.
"Hello? Batman?" Constantine had already started calling Batman. He said, "We've caught a few captives here who claim to be the Guardians of the Galaxy. We are currently on patrol ship F1312. Adjust the route and have the ship go directly to the main star."
Strange didn't hear clearly what Batman said, but the ship soon changed its route. The two entered the cabin, and the ship clearly performed a jump, soon arriving above Apokolips.
The real Apokolips was a black planet that looked slightly terrifying, but once they landed, they discovered that this blackness was a type of obsidian with a faint glow, which actually looked quite beautiful.
Strange followed behind Constantine, leading the group of Guardians of the Galaxy inside. He was actually still a bit nervous, feeling like he might be discovered.
"Don't worry," Schiller said to him in his mind, "I used the Gray Mist to shield your brainwaves; no one can read what you are thinking."
"Isn't this like saying 'there is no silver buried here'?"
"Of course not. Most Constantines have ways to resist telepathy, otherwise they would have died at the hands of demons long ago. Not being able to read their minds isn't a strange thing, so rest assured."
"Then can I not act too serious?" After saying this, Strange shivered. He said, "Don't expect me to simulate Constantine's behavior. Good heavens, I can't say those things."
"No need. Isn't there a serious type standing right in front of you? Just don't act too much like Doctor Strange."
"Then what if we have to fight later..."
"There are so many people here, you can just stand by and watch. Nothing will happen anyway. Constantine doesn't like using magic to begin with, and Batman won't force him in that regard."
Despite being told this, Strange still felt uneasy. Actually, as a con man, his psychological quality was quite good, but unfortunately, the person on the other side was Batman.
Watching the main universe Batman walk toward them, Strange's heart pounded. Fortunately, the main universe Batman's attention was focused on the members of the Guardians of the Galaxy, and he didn't pay much attention to the two Constantines.
Constantine recounted to the main universe Batman how they had encountered the Guardians of the Galaxy. The main universe Batman nodded and said, "Good work. Go to the hospital for a check-up first, then go get some rest. You don't need to attend the upcoming meeting."
Constantine was visibly relieved. He picked up his case, lit a cigarette, and headed toward the infirmary. Strange followed behind him and asked as if casually: "What do you have in this case?"
"Some little gadgets," Constantine also said nonchalantly, "weapons and materials I might need."
"Weapons? Are they very powerful?"
"Average, but some of the materials are quite valuable."
"Yeah," Strange thought to himself, "they are probably unprecedentedly valuable now."
