Chapter 4050: MU: The Super-Body Event (Part 141)
A blue figure appeared at the other end of the room. He was strong, handsome, and had a circular symbol on his head. More importantly, he looked exactly like the Main Universe Batman.
He walked slowly toward the Main Universe Batman, then stood before him and said, "Is she the person you were looking for?"
"Yes." The Main Universe Batman turned back, looking at the frozen Super-Body behind him, and said, "They gave her a perfect body, a vibrant soul, and a heart that beats for love. But we must give her more; only then will she become a true... Super-Body."
"You went through such a huge circle just to shape her?" The blue figure stepped forward and said.
"Only a god can oppose a god." The Main Universe Batman's tone remained devoid of fluctuation as he said, "If the god does not love the world, then we shall replace the god."
"Are you truly decided?" The blue figure looked at him and said, "Things may not necessarily develop as you imagine. Don't you think this approach is still too risky?"
"We are running out of time," the Main Universe Batman said, "She was only right about one thing: we do indeed need her."
The blue figure stopped speaking. He simply turned his head to look at the Super-Body.
In this instant, the same projection appeared across multiple dimensions. Time, space, and consciousness shuttled rapidly like the wind and shone as brightly as the sun. Countless characters emerged, then formed a long formula—"LifeEquation = solicitude + Affinity + courage + hope + self-worth ÷ encouragement ÷ praise ÷ understanding x comfort x confidence x success x forgiveness = y where y = hope and n = Brilliance, love = truths, life = eternity, self = bright future."
At this point, an endless light erupted, as fierce as hundreds of thousands of suns. The radiance overwhelmed everything, and certain changes were quietly occurring beneath the light. Almost all life felt the arrival of a special power.
Strange was the first to rush in. He and Stark exchanged a glance and uttered the same word: "Super-Body!"
Stark clutched his forehead and said, "She has undergone some kind of change. She..."
"It must be something Batman did to her." Strange said with great certainty, "We only gave her a body, and Ultron ignited her soul. And now, Batman has bestowed upon her an extremely powerful force. What is that?"
"You don't know either?" Stark looked at him and asked.
Strange shook his head slowly, then said, "It is very powerful, but also very unfamiliar; it shouldn't be a power from our universe. But it possesses extremely strong vitality. Perhaps it is the origin power of their universe."
"What exactly does Batman want to do?" Stark asked, "Does he not only want to borrow our hands to destroy Apokolips, but also wants to create a god in our universe?"
Strange snorted coldly and said, "Those fools in our Main Universe only want to fight others, not knowing that the other Main Universe may have already calculated things thousands of years into the future."
"What's more fatal is that we might not even be able to beat them." Stark said, "What level is the Super-Body at now? Will she be more powerful than Thor?"
"You should consider one question: what kind of person could allow the Super-Body to evolve?"
"Isn't it the Main Universe Batman?"
"Perhaps it was his plan, but it certainly wasn't him who completed it. He is just an ordinary human; he doesn't have such power."
Stark pursed his lips and said, "Perhaps... perhaps it's the demon god from their side?"
"It would be good if it were really that simple. Do you think they don't have someone like the Scarlet Witch on their side?" Strange said while walking out, "We'll know what's going on once we try."
"What are you going to do?"
"Attack the Dark Quadrant."
When Strange walked into another conference room, the Doctor Stranges had already arrived. They all wore worried expressions and looked slightly flustered, clearly affected by the changes just now.
"I saw the birth of a god during my contemplation, but it wasn't a familiar origin power; it was very strange. What exactly is going on?"
"Alright, great scientists," Strange said with no lack of sarcasm, "or great conductors, stop studying these things. We must go to the new base on the other side; we cannot let them set up defenses."
"But why isn't the main force going?"
"Because judging by the opponent's strength, the most effective measure they can take to protect their new base is to build a magical defense network. So, we are duty-bound to destroy such measures. Let's go quickly; if we are any later, they will have finished building it."
Strange was, of course, talking nonsense. Although it couldn't be considered entirely wrong, that wasn't the purpose he was going for. He wanted to use the lives of the Doctor Stranges to test what kind of thing Batman had brought over.
The Doctor Stranges had to go even if they didn't want to. They knew how terrible their performance had been; if this continued, they would never be able to hold their heads high among the superheroes of the multiverse. Even if they died on this trip, at least it would be a heroic sacrifice.
Thus, they set off quickly. Before long, one portal after another appeared outside the Dark Quadrant.
It could only be said that they had arrived at the predetermined coordinates, but they did not see the Dark Quadrant; it was empty here, as if there was nothing at all.
The Doctor Stranges smashed around with imaging magic, but still found nothing, as if the Dark Quadrant had never existed.
Strange's face turned very ugly, and he said, "The opponent may have gone to another dimension."
"Another dimension? Where would there be another dimension here?" the other Doctor Stranges said.
"There might not have been one before, but there is now."
"Are you kidding? The opponent created a dimension themselves? Then aren't they the masters of the dimension?"
Strange remained silent. He knew that the worst-case scenario had occurred: a true god had arrived on the other side.
According to their definition of gods, someone like Mephisto didn't belong to the gods; he was merely a cosmic demon god. The reason was that the dimensions they possessed were not created by them. They merely occupied them and bound themselves to that dimension. The dimension was still created by the Creator.
And true gods were like Eternity, possessing the ability to create, capable of opening up dimensions and creating universes.
Therefore, Darkseid didn't actually count as a god, because Apokolips wasn't created by him. He merely possessed the Apokolips realm and did not possess the ability to create. Even the Scarlet Witch, who mastered the chaos power of the universe, didn't count as a god as long as she didn't have the ability to open up a universe herself.
"Don't worry, I have already opened up the Dark Quadrant into a separate dimension. They cannot enter." The blue figure said to the Main Universe Batman, "Let alone enter, unless I allow it, they cannot observe this place. It is very safe here."
"Thanks." The Main Universe Batman turned to look at the figure and said, "I asked you to come originally just to write the Life Equation into the Super-Body's soul. You don't have to participate in this war. You can leave now, or go and say hello to them."
"After all, I am also Batman; it is only right to help you. By the way, regarding what you asked me before about Owlman and the other Dr. Manhattans, I have already investigated it; do you want to hear it?"
As they both walked out, the Main Universe Batman said, "Tell me, I'm quite curious how he managed to get in touch with Dr. Manhattan."
"He didn't actually know Dr. Manhattan, but rather the Comedian from the Watchmen team. During a wrong time-space travel, the Comedian arrived in the universe where Owlman was. Owlman saved him, and that's how the two of them got to know each other."
"Would Owlman be kind enough to save someone?"
"Rather than saying they cherished each other, it's better to say they were birds of a feather." The other party said, "Neither of them were good people, so they became friends. This time, it should also have been Owlman who contacted the Comedian, and the Comedian then asked Dr. Manhattan to save Owlman."
The Main Universe Batman nodded to indicate he understood. By this time, they had arrived at the entrance of the conference hall. When they walked in, it was clamorous and noisy inside.
"You say the Main Universe Batman's ability is poor, but are you very capable yourself? You're right, you indeed didn't make any mistakes, because you didn't show up at all. The Main Universe Batman's ability is worse than air; I'm really sorry!"
"I told you, I came late because I was injured, but didn't I still come? Do you want to not even give me a chance to practice because of your prejudice against me? Are all Batmen such pedantic people?"
"You still know you're not Batman?"
"Can't someone who isn't Batman lead a multiverse team? This is naked hegemony on your part! You really should let all the superheroes see your hideous faces!"
"Alright." The Main Universe Batman stood at the very front of the crowd.
"You actually came." Owlman said with exaggerated pretense, "I thought you were going to avoid it for a while longer."
"I never thought about avoiding it." The Main Universe Batman remained very calm and said, "If you must describe everything that has happened since the start of the war as my failure, and use that as the basis for your wisdom, I won't stop you from exposing your own shortcomings, nor will I stop you from embarrassing yourself to the multiverse."
Owlman was stunned again. Why was the Main Universe Batman so sharp? More importantly, why was he so righteous? Shouldn't he be humbly reviewing, admitting mistakes, and then appeasing everyone?
The Adventure Superman nudged the Adventure Batman with his elbow and said, "You're right, Superman is gone, and he's not even pretending anymore."
"I think he's full of anger with nowhere to vent." The Adventure Batman lowered his voice and said, "He can't vent his anger on us, so Owlman just happened to be in the line of fire."
"But I don't understand what he's angry about either. Okay, even if the Superman from his universe sacrificed himself first, he should have prepared himself mentally beforehand, right? But now he's like a vicious widow."
"Keep your voice down." The Adventure Batman hurriedly stopped him and said, "Stop playing with that young Bruce; I think you've become vicious too."
"I'm serious, I don't know where he gets so much resentment. I went to comfort him, and he ignored me." The Adventure Superman pouted and said, "Maybe he's thinking that if it were me who died instead of the Superman from his universe, it would be better."
"Don't say that; he's not that vicious." The Adventure Batman shook his head and said, "He's probably angry because of something else."
"What else could it be?"
"Everyone here is a bit unintelligent and really treats what happened before as a failure. It's normal to have some anger after playing the lute to a cow for so long."
The Adventure Superman was full of question marks and said, "If it's not a failure, what could it be? Could it be a victory worth cheering for?"
"It might not count as a victory for us, but for him, it definitely counts as a great victory. If I could tear down the house of the Darkseid in our universe, I would definitely hold a global celebration party."
As soon as he finished speaking, the Main Universe Batman opened his mouth and said, "I didn't want to use such words to describe any colleague, because this has a very significant nature of personal attack. Those who know my character should be clear that I am not such a vicious person. But you, Owlman, your stupidity still exceeded my imagination a bit. I ask you, where did I fail?"
"You have never won a battle! And you lost so many troops." Owlman said somewhat gloomily, "Am I supposed to cheer for your success?"
"That's not necessary. But I think the Darkseid of your universe should be very happy with your current achievements."
"Achievements? What achievements?"
"Of course, no achievements at all. Sitting by and watching him turn Apokolips into the most solid fortress in the universe, plundering in the universe unscrupulously, and recruiting countless Parademons to form an army, until one day invading Earth. Oh, I forgot, you are a universe where good and evil are reversed, so that would be one day coming to Earth to preside over a truly fair trial, and then sending you to the guillotine of justice."
"Uh..." Owlman looked like he had been choked by the throat. Because he suddenly realized that the biggest loss so far, the destruction of their base Apokolips, was a good thing worth partying for three days and three nights for the Main Universe Batman.
The Main Universe Batman continued, "... or when some mysterious existence descends into the universe and says it wants to bring the universe back to a dead and silent era, you can't think of any way, so you have to bow down and be used, and then be thrown away like garbage, making them think that the humans in the universe are all people like you."
After finishing, the Main Universe Batman no longer looked at him, but turned his head to look at the door. At this moment, a graceful figure walked in.
"Let me introduce her; this is Super-Body—the new god of the multiverse."
With her approach, everyone felt a surging vitality, as if all negative emotions were swept away. When the faint light dissipated, people saw a face that was both familiar and strange—the features were a bit like Natasha's, but the brows and eyes were like Batman's. More importantly, there was a pair of indescribable, compassionate, and affectionate blue eyes.
"And this one..." The Main Universe Batman looked at the blue figure beside him and said, "He is also a member of Batman, just transformed his life form by chance. You can call him... Manhattan Batman."
?? The Life Equation is something I made up.
