Chapter 4350: Justice League: Assembly (Part 5)
After Diana, J'onn, and Schiller all left, Bruce returned to the Batcave and operated the computer to bring up someone's information. The face on the screen was exceptionally young, even much younger than Superman. The young man in the photo had a smile on the corner of his mouth and looked very easy to get along with, and the name column read "Barry Allen."
The screens in front of him lit up one by one, and the young man's figure kept shuttling through them. Bruce saw that he had sat alone in the corner of the school classroom, holding a pile of professional books; or shuttling between the bookshelves in the library, looking up for what he wanted; he had also been blocked in the corner of the corridor by strong school team members, and he just lowered his head and curled his lips silently, not saying a word.
Silent, solitary, this was Bruce's first impression of him. Obviously, Barry Allen was not the kind of popular person, had no friends at all, and was not favored by the opposite sex. But Bruce had also seen several times from his gaze at the crowd that he longed for friendship and wanted an intimate relationship like a family.
But he was destined to be lonely. His talent could not be displayed in the secular world, and only when he started running could he get a glimmer of comfort. Such a genius should not be buried.
"I'll say it one last time! No matter what method you use, immediately get the Capitol Hill back to the damn District of Columbia!!! We are now at an advantage, and the probability of re-election is very high; the general election must not be delayed!!!!"
Roaring came from the President's office again. The Secretary of State standing at the door paused, but still walked in, placed a document in front of the President, and then said: "Amanda Waller has been confirmed dead. She was cut from the middle, and it was Superman who did it."
The President reached out a hand to interrupt him and then said: "I don't give a damn about that crazy woman! Jades has already called me; this is an ultimatum. If I can't get Capitol Hill back to the right place as soon as possible, the election results will inevitably be affected, and my re-election will be finished!!!"
The Secretary of State sighed and then said: "That's what I want to say too. Although Amanda is dead, the A. R. G. U. S. cannot be disbanded. This organization holds information on almost all super-powered individuals within the Federation; we can pick some from it and let them find a way to get Capitol Hill back."
"Then hurry up!!!"
"The A. R. G. U. S. needs a person in charge," the Secretary of State continued, "I have a candidate here; although he is a liar from London, his brain is quite good, and he is very flexible in doing things. More importantly, if something goes wrong, we can push it to the British."
The President took the document in a bad mood, looked at the photo first, and then read the name below: "'Schiller Rodriguez'?"
"Exactly. This person contributed a lot to the previous British royal scandal; we suspect he is Bruce Wei En's black glove. Of the two giants on the East Coast, the Luthor Group is no longer glorious; if we can drag Wei En into the water, we don't have to worry about the follow-up work of this incident."
The President took a deep breath, and after calming down, said: "Okay, let's do it. I hope he can be smarter than Waller."
"Hello, Mr. Rodriguez. The person in charge of the Special Information Security Department of the US National Security Agency, the A. R. G. U. S. is one of the independent organizations that our department has long-term docking with. We should have been on an equal level, but the situation is special now, so I will issue the appointment notice to you on behalf of the director."
Schiller sat opposite him and looked at him, asking seemingly inadvertently: "Issuing an appointment notice, which means I have no right to refuse?"
"Yes. Taking this appointment is good for everyone," the woman sitting opposite Schiller said, "This may be the only opportunity in your life to work for the Federation. I think you should have no possibility of returning to the UK, right?"
"MI6 is hunting me down," Schiller smiled and said, "It is indeed as you said; if there are no accidents, I should not be able to go back."
"Then stay. The A. R. G. U. S. is a very special organization; they are responsible for monitoring super-powered individuals, which means your power will be very great."
"Then my predecessor..."
"Obviously she is not smart enough," the woman said coldly, "She didn't keep a good distance from the super-powered individuals, which is our only requirement for you: manipulate them, but don't get too close to them. They are not your savior, and you are not theirs."
"I see," Schiller said, "I also understand that this is just a stopgap measure. After the election, my position is still a hot bench worth fighting for; by that time I will disappear on my own, and I hope you don't block it."
"We will hand you over to MI6," the woman said, "They will also be very eager to know the situation inside the A. R. G. U. S.; you are valuable."
"I hope I can live to that day," Schiller put his hands on the table, crossed his fingers, and then said, "You are so anxious to arrange a new person in charge, I am afraid there is a very urgent task, right?"
"That's right, Capitol Hill is a big problem," the woman took a light breath and said, "Now is the election vote counting stage, and there must be no mistakes, but congressmen cannot work in such a place."
"With all due respect, why don't they leave and take a plane back to Washington?"
"Washington has no vote counting area, the procedure is not legal enough, and the new president will be questioned. Moreover, the current public opinion situation is unfavorable; if the congressmen leave, it will also affect their prestige, and no one wants to see this happen."
"So, you want to move the whole Capitol Hill back."
"That's right, and this requires the power of super-powered individuals. Your task is to form a team as soon as possible, work together, go all out, and let Capitol Hill return to its proper position as soon as possible."
Schiller thought silently, seeming to be weighing, and the woman spoke again: "All law enforcement departments will cooperate with you; this is the President's order."
"Okay, I think it's possible," Schiller said, "I don't want to cause trouble for myself at all, and I don't want to follow in the footsteps of my predecessor; I need a fake identity."
The woman took out a document from her arms and then said: "Fill it out yourself, we will notarize it for you."
Schiller took the driver's license registration document and wrote "Nyog Sothip" in the name column.
Central City is located in Missouri, in the Midwest of the United States. This is a typical central city with a mild climate, developed agriculture, and sparse population. Although economic development is not as good as the big cities on the East and West Coasts, the security level and average living standard are among the best in the entire Federation, and it is a very gentle and inclusive city.
The most famous large group in this city is Monsanto, the agricultural technology company famous for genetically modified seeds. And Central City University is ranked around 120th in the United States, and agriculture and chemistry majors are trump cards.
Surrounding the university are rows upon rows of university towns composed of old buildings. Although the buildings are quite ancient, they have a very strong Mississippi River basin style, and you can still see many tourists visiting and taking pictures on the street.
At the end of the street, there is a row of buildings at the corner. The door at the very end opens to a small and somewhat messy room. A black-haired young man wearing a hoodie and jacket pushed the door open, threw the book in his hand aside, and fell onto the plaid quilt.
After a while, he climbed up, tidied his hair with his hand, stood by the bed, moved the bed aside, and a cellar door appeared below. He jumped down along the door and came to a basement full of screens and wires, with a set of red battle armor on the right side; this basement was even more spacious than the small room above.
Sitting on the swivel chair, the young man breathed a sigh of relief. He immediately operated the computer to open the screen, and as soon as the image on the computer screen appeared, he gasped.
Ice-blue electric light flashed and disappeared, and the young man started running. When he took action, everything seemed to be frozen. When he rushed out of the door of the small room and came to the street, everyone was like a character in a frozen photo, only he could move quickly.
He ran to the street corner all the way, and sure enough, he saw a robber wearing a hoodie pulling a tourist's bag, and the people around were fleeing in all directions. He ran over and saw the knife the robber was holding.
The young man kicked the robber's wrist, the time flow accelerated instantly, the robber inexplicably lifted his hand, and the knife fell to the ground. Immediately after, the electric light flashed again, and the bag strap held by the robber also disappeared, and the tourist carrying the bag appeared five meters away from the robber.
The robber and the tourist looked at each other, but the young man smiled and ran again. At the entrance of the coffee shop at the other end of the street, he took the donuts that the clerk had already packed, sent them to the police car not far away, and then transported the police at the entrance to the police car, started the ignition, stepped on the accelerator, and the car arrived at the robbery scene instantly.
The young man stood outside the door, checked the police's handcuffs, sidearm, and police officer's ID, and after finding that there was no problem, stopped running. The police turned their heads and saw the donuts that appeared in the passenger seat; as soon as they turned their heads back, they saw the robber who was planning to grab another one.
"Stop! Raise your hands and squat down with your head, or I will shoot!"
The robber ran back in a panic, and after taking two steps, he was tripped directly by the roadblock. The police rushed over, pressed him to the ground, and handcuffed him. The tourist was still in shock, and the young man stood at the street corner, biting a donut, and shrugged.
"Hey, Barry, why are you here?!" A voice came from behind the young man, and the young man turned his head and saw a girl.
"I... I..."
"You came out to buy donuts, right?" The girl smiled at him and then said, "I didn't expect you to love sweets so much."
The young man named Barry blushed, but still nodded and said: "Yes, that donut shop is not bad..."
"Oh, really? I also love donuts very much; can you take me there?"
"No... let's not, I have something else to do, I'll go first."
Barry ran away in a panic. It wasn't until he ran to the next street that he leaned against the wall and gasped. Then he heard the tourists walking over from there whispering.
"The clerk told us that it was the Flash, the superhero of Central City."
"So Central City also has superheroes. You don't know, Superman in Metropolis made big news two days ago and moved Capitol Hill to their place directly; those congressmen were scared to death..."
"Yeah, yeah, I heard that too..."
"This guy called Flash should also be very powerful; I didn't see him from beginning to end; he must be as fast as lightning."
"Of course. I guess he must be very handsome; maybe not inferior to Superman."
After the tourists passed by the alley, Barry dared to come out. He just passed a store and saw the TV in the window playing Superman's speech. He stared at the handsome face on the TV screen, and a look of envy appeared in his eyes. ===== CHAPTER 4351 =====
