Chapter 4730
"How is it?" Stark asked with some worry in the living room, "Why were you suddenly called over?"
"There was a problem with the Professor," Schiller said, "It's fine now."
"Related to the Shi'ar Empire, right?" Steve guessed correctly, and he said, "I don't know if the Shi'ar Empire of this universe is too strong, or if the one in our universe is too weak. I really didn't expect them to pose such a big threat to mutants."
"The mutants in our universe didn't stay on Earth for long. They left before the solar system development plan. Before that, humans didn't have the ability to develop Sentinel robots, and after that, there was no need to develop them. So how could there be any weapon that completely restrains mutants?" Stark said.
"That's true." Steve nodded.
"Are the Sentinels really that powerful?" Ma Te frowned. He put down the file he was reading and said, "As far as I know, the three major empires all want to research weapons to deal with mutants; they are truly terrified of mutants. But it seems no one has succeeded yet."
"Their level isn't good enough," Stark shook his head and said, "I don't mean the technological level, but in terms of researching weapons for genocide against certain groups. They are far behind humans."
"It's no exaggeration to say that if mutants fall out with us now, and we don't participate, in a few days, the human government could also pull out Sentinels, and they might be stronger than the ones in this universe. Otherwise, why would the three major empires fear humans?"
Several people clearly felt the same way. And Ma Te said again, "I just read the economic report document of Krakoa Island, guess what?"
The others looked at him, and Ma Te shook his head and said, "Now the main economic source of the entire Krakoa relies on virtual currency."
"What?"
"Huh?"
"Virtual currency?"
The others were shocked. Schiller said, "I haven't had time to study this, I didn't expect you to read it first. But come to think of it, they really don't have any real industry, so they can only rely on the virtual economy."
"Yes, and their virtual currency servers and keys are overseas. To be precise, on the continent, not on the island itself."
"The risk is too high." Although Stark didn't care about finance, he was an entrepreneur after all, and he said, "Stark Industries also holds virtual currency; this is part of our virtual assets. But the servers and keys are kept by me in Asgard's vault. Earth is like a sieve; it might leak at any time. I don't even trust S. H. I. E. L. D."
"Then you really shouldn't trust them." Steve glanced at Schiller, "If you put it in S. H. I. E. L. D., it might become part of the medical funds at any time."
"What are you talking about? I wouldn't take it without asking."
"Yeah, you just leave others with no choice."
Several people laughed again. Schiller stood up to make coffee, and Ma Te said again, "The situation in the solar system is not good now, I'm worried they will use Krakoa Island's virtual assets to threaten the mutants."
"Threaten the mutants?" Stark frowned, "It's all mutants holding the line now. Their field personnel haven't rested for days and nights, fighting on the Jupiter line. What else does the Earth government want?"
"Of course, they want the two leaders to take action." Steve was obviously more sensitive to this, and he said, "The Earth government hopes that this battle can consume more of the mutants' strength. Although there are many mutants going to the front line, and they are strong enough, they are not their leaders after all."
"But if the leaders die on the battlefield, the mutants will be more united, won't they?"
"Indeed, however, the difference lies in the fact that mutants have two spiritual leaders; if one dies, the other will definitely avenge him, so the mutants and the Shi'ar Empire will become an irreconcilable situation, and the pressure on Earth will be much less."
"So that's it." Stark lowered his eyes, "However, now that they are cooperating with China, virtual assets are not that important, right?"
"Although that's what's said, it would be quite infuriating if they were cracked or seized." Ma Te shook his head and said, "And it's precisely because of the cooperation with China that the possibility of being sanctioned has increased a lot."
"It seems that the Shi'ar Empire's invasion didn't unite Earth at all." Stark looked at Schiller again, "You might have worked in vain."
"Just moving virtual assets is already an improvement." Schiller put down the coffee and said, "You have to know that just using the method of sanctioning other countries to sanction Krakoa is already quite restrained. Their previous step was the Red Orchid factory."
"That's true." Ma Te took a sip of coffee and said, "Sanctioning virtual assets isn't too much of a loss, just a bit disgusting."
"Besides, the mutants don't have no cards in their hands." After Schiller finished speaking, everyone looked at him. Schiller continued, "The engineers who participated in the Red Orchid project are still on the island."
"You mean hostage exchange? But isn't it a bit too wasteful to use these scientists to exchange for virtual assets?"
"Ordinary people cannot stay on Krakoa Island for long. The climate and energy field here will cause all kinds of problems. They will have to leave sooner or later. It's not a loss to exchange such a group of people for some money."
"I'm always worried they will be hunted down after they go back."
"So this depends on the mutants' choice. Perhaps it will be a multi-party extradition plan."
Stark took a sip of coffee and said, "The Iron Man of this universe should have taken them down. Human scientists who can research the Red Orchid factory are definitely the best of the best; no matter how many come, it's not too many.... Achoo!"
Just after taking a sip of hot coffee, Stark sneezed. He picked up a tissue and wiped his nose. Several people looked at him with concern, and Stark waved his hand and said, "Maybe the coffee was too hot."
Schiller walked over and closed the window. Before closing it, he glanced outside; the weather was still not very good. Although it wasn't raining, it was always windy.
"Perhaps we should let Storm take action." He said, "Staying overcast like this isn't a solution. Many things can't be done."
Before he even finished speaking, the wind suddenly stopped. The howling wind and the trembling of the eaves disappeared, and several people turned to look out the window and walked to the window. On the distant, foggy horizon, a tiny figure was stopping the storm.
The island soon returned to calm, the clouds dispersed, and a ray of sunlight shone down. The throne, washed clean by the rain, shone brightly in the sunlight. The entire island turned emerald green.
Stark also walked to the window, but as soon as the window was pushed open, he sneezed again. His skin was visibly red. Steve immediately pushed him gently and reached out to touch his forehead.
"You definitely have a cold." Steve said, "You might still have a low fever now. We need to measure your temperature to know for sure. I'll go get a medical kit and wait here."
Stark curled his lips and turned to leave, but Ma Te grabbed his arm, pinned him to the ground with his hands behind his back, and said, "Don't run. You are the only ordinary person here, and you are the most easily affected by this island. We must ensure you are healthy."
Stark naturally shouted in protest, but it was to no avail. There was no way he could beat Ma Te, who practiced martial arts. And if he were to use his armor, Schiller would use some non-scientific means to restrict him.
So he was half-dragged and half-pulled to the sofa to lie down. By this time, the skin on his face was already burning red, and his condition was visibly worsening.
Ma Te hurried to get a towel to cool him down. Stark lay there and said in a hoarse voice, "I don't understand why I caught a cold, I'm already wearing so much."
"It's not necessarily related to the temperature." Schiller sat beside him, adjusted the position of the towel, and said, "You were too tired a while ago, and suddenly relaxing will make you prone to illness. Besides, this island really isn't suitable for ordinary people, and you aren't wearing your armor, so it's normal to be affected."
"Then why didn't you remind me." Stark said with some complaint, "If the other two Iron Men knew that they were fighting on the front line and were fine, while I caught a cold in the rear, I would be laughed at by the entire multiverse."
Schiller smiled and said, "If I reminded you, you wouldn't be willing to wear your armor all the time. You would only think I was alarmist. Don't I know you?"
Just then, Strange walked in. The surgery had taken several hours, but he wasn't tired at all. As soon as he entered, he saw Stark lying on the sofa. He looked him up and down, and then said, "Do you now need to occupy the entire sofa to show your authority?"
"He's sick." Ma Te walked back and said, "It might be a cold."
Unexpectedly, Strange frowned deeply and said, "How could he catch a cold? Did you go out for a walk on a stormy night?"
"How is that possible?!" Stark raised his voice, "Why would I run out?"
Strange sat down beside him, looked at him, and said, "This island isn't very suitable for ordinary people. Especially an ordinary person like you who lacks exercise. I don't mean the kind of exercise in the gym, but that you rarely go to places with completely unfamiliar climates and environments. Adaptability needs to be exercised."
Stark remained silent, perhaps unable to speak. This cold and fever rose very quickly, and before long, Stark's skin was terribly hot.
"Need to find some medicine." Strange sighed and said, "I'll go to the hospital."
"No, I don't need antibiotics." Stark said, "It will be better soon."
Strange clearly felt he was being unreasonable, but just because he was sick, he didn't argue with him. Schiller called out to him and said, "Then don't prescribe him antibiotics. Otherwise, his medical team might come to trouble you."
"A bunch of bastards." Strange cursed as he turned and left.
Steve returned, and there was alcohol in the medical kit. Steve began to wipe Stark's cheeks and arms with alcohol, which could help lower his temperature. However, he was indeed burning very badly, calling out the names of Pepper and Morgan, and occasionally starting to call out the Avengers one by one.
"I really don't know what he dreamed of." Ma Te said in a low voice, "I guess it shouldn't be anything good."
"Perhaps we are hunting him down." Schiller guessed, "He always has such bizarre and strange dreams. Sometimes you can't even tell why. His genius inspiration is always reflected more crazily in his dreams. He has one dream, and human technology can advance by ten years."
Just as they were talking about this, someone suddenly knocked on the door. It shouldn't be Strange, because he had just left. Schiller walked over to open the door, and as soon as the door opened, it was actually Captain America from some unknown universe.
"Hello, are you free?" Captain America looked a bit anxious and said, "The situation on the front line is not good, we need support."
"Sorry, but our friend is sick." Schiller said, "It's not that we aren't saying we won't help, but we might need some time to figure out who will go to help."
"Who is sick?"
"Tony Stark, of course. Ordinary people can't stay on this island all the time. He has a high fever. Perhaps he will be better in a while, perhaps not. We must keep someone here to watch over him."
"Alright, I understand completely, but please be sure to send someone over. Otherwise, the Western Front really might not be able to hold."
"We will, we'll go right away."
