Chapter 632
"Lucifer????"
"Constantine!"
"!"
Two voices spoke at once—Constantine startled, Lucifer furious—and the next second, Constantine raised his hands and shouted: "Let's talk this out! Don't strike! I didn't mean it last time!"
"!"
Lucifer took a deep breath, forced himself to calm down, and said to Constantine: "Last time, while I was away, you smashed up my bar and let that gang of magma demons burn the whole place down. Afraid I'd come after you, you hid at the edge of the Spirit Realm—then dragged a horde of Void Demons into Hell and wrecked my home too…"
At this moment, lying on the hospital bed, Schiller had already picked up an apple from the table beside him and begun biting into it. He'd expected to watch Constantine suffer a terrible fate—but instead, after several deep breaths, Lucifer said: "We'll settle accounts after you're dead."
Constantine took even greater liberty. He exhaled loudly, smiled, stepped beside Lucifer, patted his arm, then turned to Schiller and asked: "You two know each other? I had no idea."
His tone dripped with sarcasm. No sooner had he spoken than an apple flew toward him. Constantine dodged and said: "So you two really—"
Before Lucifer could speak, Schiller immediately said: "I was badly injured earlier. The doctor said I suffered a severe head trauma—I've lost my memory."
"You're not serious, are you?" Lucifer stood beside the bed, arms crossed, sizing up Schiller. "Don't think this trick will get you out of your debts. Get up and work. You haven't paid me in ages!"
"I told you—I lost my memory. Shouldn't you tell me what I owe you first?" Seizing this chance, Schiller could finally ask others outright about his past.
The original Schiller was shrouded in too much fog. More often than not, Schiller could only piece together fragments of his history by eavesdropping, from half-sentences and passing remarks. In truth, his memories of the past were hazy—aware of broad strokes, but utterly blank on details.
For instance, he knew he and Brand were old classmates, close during university—but he had no idea Brand knew he'd once been a KGB agent.
Logically, someone who knew such a secret should be a blood brother—but his memories of Brand held no details. Schiller had no idea why the original Schiller's bond with him ran so deep.
According to his current intelligence, the original Schiller had joined the KGB—but later lost contact due to unknown reasons, and was now likely a defector.
But now Lucifer had come looking for him, meaning the original Schiller hadn't just been a communist warrior—he'd also been tied to the occult world. That made no sense.
If you ask who Lucifer is, no introduction is needed—many have heard his name. His image across myths and films is almost always that of the "Fallen Angel."
Lucifer Morningstar was once God's most beloved child—but one day, he betrayed God, fell from Heaven into Hell, and became the King of Hell. That's the backstory of DC's Lucifer, nearly identical to myth, except Lucifer also held another infamous title: DC's "Second Only to God."
