Out of 4 lanes, nearly 3 were being used for evacuation purposes, but one lane was left vacant for teams and raiders.

Half an hour later, driving slowly in the single lane that was vacant, two cars reached a checkpoint.

A small team of young ladies was stationed at the place, all of them dressed in military clothes and carrying specialized plasma firearms that were actually effective against monsters.

Seeing their cars approaching, the ladies got up and waved at Jaq to stop.

After a couple minutes, Jaq was allowed to pass by and then Aaron’s turn came.

"ID and purpose?" the guard said in a nonchalant tone, but when her eyes fell over Aaron, they widened.

Claire rolled down the window from the backseat and handed out her raiders ID, stating the purpose to be government mission whose slip she already had.

"Miss, I am sorry but the situation within the city is really bad.
