Chapter 1580: Refusal

Chen Sheng pondered all the way, and even when Hou Xiaojun talked to him, he was a bit absent-minded.

Arriving at the door of Chen Quan's office, he became uneasy again; if it were really like what Zhao Jin Hui said, what should he do?

To be honest, before retiring, he could go further, and he was very willing and very eager.

But he knew very well in his heart that his political sensitivity was too poor, and he couldn't compare with Zhao Jin Hui.

If it weren't for his step-by-step walk on this road, walking steadily, he would have been cleaned up long ago.

Last night Zhao Jin Hui told him so much, if the ministry wanted to promote him, he must refuse.

If this were changed to someone else, he would definitely have resentment toward Zhao Jin Hui.

But Chen Sheng didn't have so many thoughts, and he trusted Zhao Jin Hui, this old friend, very much, so he only thought Zhao Jin Hui was drunk and joking.

But now Chen Quan suddenly looked for him, which made him realize that Zhao Jin Hui was not drunk last night, nor was he joking.

Although he didn't understand why Zhao Jin Hui asked him to refuse, he understood that there must be a problem here.

Especially Zhao Jin Hui's sudden application to be demoted to Guizhou Province, it must be because the Management Department had some danger he couldn't see.

Hou Xiaojun knocked on the door to report, and then came out and said.

"The Minister lets you in."

Chen Sheng nodded, and with an uneasy heart, entered the office.

"Minister!"

Chen Quan raised his head and said with a smile: "Comrade Chen Sheng, you sit first; I still have some work in my hand, and I will talk after processing it."

"Good!" Chen Sheng sat down.

Time passed bit by bit, and Chen Sheng became more and more uneasy, sitting there like sitting on pins and needles.

After about twenty minutes, Chen Quan closed the document in his hand.

"Comrade Chen Sheng, kept you waiting."

"No, no!" Chen Sheng's tense heart also relaxed.

Chen Quan stood up, picked up the cigarette on the desk, walked over, sat opposite Chen Sheng, and pulled a cigarette from the cigarette box to hand to Chen Sheng.

Chen Sheng stood up slightly, flattered, took it with both hands, and then took out a lighter from his pocket to light the cigarette for Chen Quan first.

"Comrade Chen Sheng!"

Chen Quan took a puff of the cigarette, and the expression on his face became very serious.

"You are an old party member, your political theory level is very high, and your political stance is firm. You have a clear head and a distinct attitude on major issues of right and wrong, and you maintain a high degree of consistency with the central government in thought and politics.

You understand the overall situation in your work, take care of the overall situation, do not care about personal gains and losses, and can always maintain a normal heart. You can correctly treat the organization and individuals, and unconditionally obey the organization's arrangements.

Participating in work for more than thirty years, the work experience in more than ten different positions has cultivated a work style of diligent thinking, daring to innovate, daring to practice, and transcending oneself.

You can grasp policies in a timely and accurate manner, complete various work tasks assigned by leaders with high efficiency and fast rhythm, and do not make mistakes, shirk responsibility, or drag your feet in your work, working hard and complaining.

Especially when dealing with urgent and major issues, you are calm and composed, showing strong principles and flexibility. You are better at listening to opinions and suggestions from all sides, improving work methods in a timely manner, and daring to criticize and self-criticize.

You have a strong sense of career and responsibility, work diligently and solidly, have clear thinking, and are serious and responsible. You have an pioneering and innovative spirit, upright style, sincere and friendly treatment of people, respect for leaders, unity with comrades, and are approachable..."

Chen Quan looked at Chen Sheng: "So, the organization decided to give you more courage; what ideas do you have, say it first."

Chen Sheng had already expected it, but when it really happened, his heartbeat was still accelerating unconsciously.

He really wanted to agree, but out of trust in Zhao Jin Hui, he had to refuse.

But what position it was, Chen Quan didn't say, how should he refuse?

And he still had a glimmer of expectation in his heart; if it wasn't the position of Director of the Management Department?

If he refused, he would really miss it, and it would become his lifelong regret.

But he didn't dare to gamble; missing it was his regret, and if he lost the gamble, he would be a corpse.

"Thank you for the organization's trust and care, thank you for the ministry leaders' appreciation and love, being able to get the organization and leaders' trust and affirmation is a very glorious and exciting thing.

This is not only an affirmation of my personal work, but also an recognition and encouragement of my continuous payment. Here, I want to express my deepest gratitude to the organization and leaders.

When I first participated in work, I lacked experience and made many mistakes. But the organization and leaders were not disappointed in me because of this, but gave me great help and support.

Provided a good working environment and conditions, and gave me freedom and rights in work, allowing me to devote myself to work and exert my best level.

For so many years, under the timely and appropriate help and guidance of the organization and leaders, I have continuously improved my professional knowledge and work level, allowing me to better serve the people.

Here, I want to express my most sincere gratitude and respect to the organization and leaders. It is precisely because of the organization and leaders' trust and affirmation that I have greater motivation and confidence, but..."

A smile appeared on Chen Quan's face; no matter who it is, as long as there is a chance to rise, there is no possibility of refusal.

But this "but" at the end, as soon as it was said in Chen Sheng's mouth, Chen Quan's smile froze on his face.

"I am already fifty-five years old this year, my health has always been bad, although there are no major illnesses, there are constant minor illnesses, and my energy is not as good as before.

In addition, I will retire in a few years, and I am no longer suitable to hold a higher leadership position. I think this opportunity should be given to young and capable comrades."

Chen Quan was not feeling well; he calculated everything, but he didn't calculate that Chen Sheng would refuse.

"Comrade Chen Sheng!"

Chen Quan suppressed the anger in his heart, but the expression on his face couldn't see anything.

"Do you know what leadership position is waiting for you this time?"

Chen Sheng shook his head, and at the same time complained in his heart, if you don't say it, do you know how painful my refusal is?

This is not an official talk of the organization, but a normal communication before the official talk.

What leadership position he is allowed to hold, it will definitely tell him, it's just a matter of sequence.

And Chen Quan chose to tell him at the end, in fact, to give him a surprise, so as to win him over.

Chen Quan pressed the cigarette butt fiercely into the ashtray; this can be seen that the anger in his heart is very big.

"Comrade Zhao Jin Hui, actively requested to be demoted to Guizhou Province to hold a post. And the decision to appoint you as Director of the Management Department, the organization has carefully considered. This decision is the organization's recognition of your work, and the ministry leaders' appreciation of you."

Chen Sheng opened his mouth to say something, but was interrupted by Chen Quan waving his hand: "I will give you two days, I hope you can consider it carefully after going back, don't rush to refuse."

Chen Sheng hurriedly said: "Thank you for the organization's trust and the leaders' appreciation, but I still think I am not suitable to hold a higher leadership position."

Finally confirmed, Chen Sheng said this, no longer worrying about gains and losses.

"If there is a suitable one, I recommend Deputy Director Yang Qi. He is young, has motivation, is full of energy, and his ability is much stronger than mine; this opportunity should be given to him." ===== CHAPTER 1581 =====
