Chapter 2639: Giving It Our All

Tian Hongwei looked at You Guimin, his face full of a helpless expression: "You Guimin, as the head of the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Department and the Supervision and Inspection Office, my duty is to bring to justice all the bad apples hidden within our Party. Therefore, upon receiving the report letter, I immediately reported it to the leadership.

Our factory manager immediately approved the verification of the report letter concerning Hong Jinyan. We only took three days to verify the authenticity of the report letter's content. Thus, this morning, the members of our factory's Party Committee held a meeting to place Hong Jinyan under investigation and suspension.

Saying this, Tian Hongwei sighed: "Everyone in our hearts knows very well that Hong Jinyan has many and serious problems, but with the evidence we currently hold, it is fundamentally impossible to give her a heavy sentence.

"Then investigate her thoroughly." Because of excitement and anger, You Guimin's face turned red with fury, the veins on his neck bulging tightly, as if they might burst at any moment.

"You Guimin, I very much understand your feelings." Tian Hongwei said sincerely: "But investigation requires time. Our quick decision to suspend and investigate Hong Jinyan is meant to create a time gap, so that the network behind Hong Jinyan does not have time to react, allowing us to solidify the facts of her violations of discipline and law.

But since it is a time gap, it cannot be too long. Short as three days, at most not exceeding seven days. If we cannot find other evidence of Hong Jinyan's illegal and disciplinary violations, and make her speak, all our earlier efforts will come to nothing.

"What about your factory manager Zhou Andong?" You Guimin stared with wide eyes, his eyeballs almost popping out of their sockets: "It is said that he does not even take the municipal Discipline Inspection Secretary Sun Baocun seriously. Does he still fear the so-called network behind Hong Jinyan?"

Tian Hongwei gave a helpless smile: "Our factory manager has no tolerance for sand in his eyes and will absolutely not tolerate the moths hidden within our Party gnawing at state property; otherwise, he would not have acted so quickly to suspend and investigate Hong Jinyan.

But for our factory manager, as long as he removes Hong Jinyan from her factory manager position and prevents her from continuing to use power for corruption and lawlessness, that is enough. As for sending her away for one or two years, or even several decades, the meaning is actually the same.

Tian Hongwei picked up his teacup and took a light sip, then continued: "So, Factory Manager Zhou only gave us three days to strive, at most not exceeding seven days. If within this time we still cannot pry open Hong Jinyan's mouth or grasp more evidence of her crimes, we can only abandon further in-depth investigation.

You Guimin clenched his fists tightly, his breathing growing more and more rapid, his heart undergoing intense struggle. He clearly knew this might be his only chance to take revenge on Hong Jinyan, but he still had reservations—what if he handed over the evidence?

If this investigation into Hong Jinyan turns out to be all thunder and little rain, then all his efforts over these years would be wasted. More importantly, if he does not strike Hong Jinyan down with a single blow, everyone in her family will suffer retaliation.

Tian Hongwei took out a cigarette from his pocket, lit it, and looked at You Guimin's troubled expression, immediately guessing what this guy was hesitating about, and couldn't help but smile faintly.

"You Guimin, I am very clear in my heart about the problems Hong Jinyan has, but I simply lack evidence. And as the head of the Supervision and Inspection Office, if I let Hong Jinyan escape severe punishment, I feel suffocated in my heart.

So, I came to find you. Because you are husband and wife, although nominally together but actually separated, after all you live under the same roof, you must certainly have evidence of Hong Jinyan's violations of discipline and law.

You Guimin gritted his teeth and said word by word: "Can you guarantee that if I hand over the evidence of Hong Jinyan's violations of discipline and law, she will receive a heavy sentence?"

"We can guarantee!" Tian Hongwei said solemnly: "You certainly know what kind of person our factory manager is, otherwise you wouldn't know that even Sun Baocun has suffered defeat in his hands, ending up embarrassed and disheveled.

As long as your evidence is solid, not only will Hong Jinyan receive the punishment she deserves, but our factory manager will also tear apart the network behind her and chop off the hands holding that net."

You Guimin no longer hesitated, because this is the only opportunity; if he misses it, he may never encounter such a chance again in his life. So, even if the investigation into Hong Jinyan ends up being all thunder and little rain, he will still give it his all.

"Alright, wait for me here a moment." You Guimin turned and entered the children's bedroom; a few minutes later, he came out carrying a schoolbag, then placed it on the tea table.

Tian Hongwei watched You Guimin open the schoolbag and take out items one by one. There were video tapes, photos, negatives, bankbooks, bank transaction records (bank statements), and so on—enough to fill half the bag.

"It's all here!" You Guimin took out the last document bag and gently placed it on top of the pile of evidence.

Tian Hongwei picked up the photo and looked at it, then picked up the document bag placed on top, opened it, flipped through it, and his expression became increasingly solemn.

"I didn't expect Hong Jinyan to have such gall." Tian Hongwei put the document back into the bag: "You Guimin, if your evidence is all true, it is enough to have Hong Jinyan executed by firing squad."

Hearing Tian Hongwei's words, You Guimin exclaimed excitedly: "Really?"

Tian Hongwei nodded: "You Guimin, to make Hong Jinyan speak, we still need your help."

You Guimin's spirits lifted: "Director Tian, tell me, as long as I can do it, I will certainly give it my all."

Tian Hongwei said: "Come with me to see Hong Jinyan."

"What?" You Guimin's voice suddenly rose several degrees: "You…… want me to go see Hong Jinyan?"

"Yes!" Tian Hongwei took a puff of his cigarette and said coldly: "Tell her all your hatred toward her and all the evidence you have gathered; only then can we break through her psychological defenses."

"Good!" You Guimin had no hesitation at all and immediately agreed: "I'll go change my clothes."

You Guimin turned back to the bedroom, and after about seven or eight minutes, he came out wearing a suit and tie, smiled at Tian Hongwei, and said softly.

"This suit was bought for me by Hong Jinyan when we got married."

Tian Hongwei was stunned, said nothing, stood up, and said: "Let's go!"

At this time, Zhou Andong had already arrived at Jinwan Hotel, Tang Lin and Nie Wen, as well as Zhou Jie and her father Zhou Guodong, were sitting in a private room of the hotel restaurant chatting.

"Wenwen, it's already this late, Zhou Andong still hasn't come; you should quickly make a phone call to ask what's going on."

"Not urgent!" Zhou Guodong smiled and waved his hand: "I still have some understanding of the situation at the wool factory; Factory Manager Zhou is definitely busy. Since he arranged a noon meeting, he will definitely come, only delayed a bit."
