Chapter 2783: Preparing Their Aftermath
"If you don't want to leave, then just stay here." The police officer turned and walked away: "Don't worry, our precinct won't let you go without three meals a day—I'll bring them on time."
"Damn it!" Jia Dai cursed inwardly, then hurried after him.
The two arrived on the first floor and entered an office. A female officer glanced at them, then pulled a release certificate from a drawer. It listed Ren Jiazhong's name, gender, home address, reason for administrative penalty, duration of detention, and release time.
"Ren Jiazhong!" The female officer tapped the certificate: "Sign here."
Jia Dai didn't even remember how many times he'd signed this thing—he could recite it with his eyes closed. He didn't even look at it, grabbed a pen, and happily signed his name.
"Alright!" The male officer said: "You can go now."
Jia Dai turned and walked out, quickly exiting the precinct, where he saw a man and a woman—two familiar faces—standing at the gate. He froze for a moment, then hurried over.
"Brother Yong, Sister Yan—why are you here?"
Zhang Chengyong smiled: "Sister Yan heard you were in trouble, so she came all the way from Qiong Province just to see if she could help you."
"Sister Yan!" Jia Dai exclaimed emotionally, then embraced her tightly: "Thank you."
"We're family—no need for thanks." Sister Yan patted Jia Dai's shoulder: "Just getting out is good enough."
"Let's go!" Zhang Chengyong said: "First, take a shower—wash off the bad luck—then we'll eat."
"Let's eat first." Jia Dai rubbed his stomach: "This past month, I've been eating nothing but steamed cornbread and cabbage soup in there—every bit of fat's been scraped off my gut."
Zhang Chengyong laughed loudly: "Good—we'll eat first, and I'll get some fat back into your belly."
The three got into a large Mercedes and headed straight to the restaurant Zhang Chengyong owned.
In the car, Jia Dai curiously asked: "Brother Yong, how did you know I'd be released today?"
"In this matter, I couldn't help you directly, but I know everything about your situation inside—when you'd come out, someone would naturally inform me." Zhang Chengyong sighed, looking apologetic: "Actually, it's not that I don't want to help—it's that I can't."
"Brother Yong!" Jia Dai said understandingly: "I get what you mean, and I understand your position. After all, the people involved behind this are too high-level for us to provoke."
Zhang Chengyong patted Jia Dai's shoulder: "There's something you still don't know—Wen Sanmao was also arrested, and he's very likely going to eat peanuts."
"Wen Sanmao's going to be executed?" Jia Dai's heart jumped: "Doesn't Wen Sanmao have people backing him too?"
"Backing?" Zhang Chengyong snorted coldly: "Neither you nor I can protect him—who could possibly protect Wen Sanmao?"
Jia Dai's mind stirred: "Brother Yong, are you saying Wen Sanmao was also sent in by Zhou Andong?"
Zhang Chengyong nodded: "Wen Sanmao brought this on himself—no one else to blame."
"Wen Sanmao also offended Zhou Andong?" Jia Dai asked, then immediately shook his head: "No, that doesn't make sense—on the day we smashed the first bar, Sanmao was there too. So why were we all arrested while Zhou Andong let him go?"
"That's Zhou Andong's cleverness." Zhang Chengyong sighed: "He let Sanmao go for one purpose only—to make Sanmao, Dao Tou, and Du Zi tear each other apart."
Jia Dai shuddered: "Since Sanmao was arrested, that means Du Zi and Dao Tou..."
"Exactly!" Zhang Chengyong said, voice low: "I don't know all the details, but I'm certain of this: Du Zi and Dao Tou attacked Sanmao first, then Sanmao was arrested, and afterward, Sanmao turned and bit back at Du Zi and Dao Tou."
A flicker of fear crossed Jia Dai's eyes: "So Du Zi and Dao Tou..."
He didn't finish the sentence, but Zhang Chengyong understood: "Du Zi and the guy nicknamed 'Big Call Donkey' might survive, but they'll likely spend at least ten or eight years inside. As for Victory and Dao Tou—prepare their final arrangements."
Jia Dai fell silent. He never imagined the outcome would be so dire—Victory and Dao Tou would get shot, Du Zi and his crew would spend over a decade in prison.
"Don't dwell on it—if they've walked into the gun's mouth, that's fate." Zhang Chengyong comforted: "Besides, Wen Sanmao offended Zhou Andong because this guy recklessly pursued Zhou Andong's sister, even threatened her with wild words—do you really think Zhou Andong would let him live?"
Jia Dai opened his mouth, incredulous: "Wen Sanmao really let his lust lead his brain—going after Zhou Andong's sister like that? His death is completely justified."
Zhang Chengyong leaned toward the family representative and whispered: "Zhou Andong's sister is Zhou Anqin, studying at the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Tell your people tomorrow: no unnecessary trips to CAFA. Don't go wandering around aimlessly.
Especially the female students—steer clear of them. If you accidentally offend that princess, Zhou Andong will send you to meet your ancestors—and no one will be able to save you."
Jia Dai nodded seriously: "I'll pass the word tomorrow."
"Alright, you two stop talking about this—let's talk about something happy." Sister Yan said: "Jia Dai, I've got a big deal—interested?"
Jia Dai perked up immediately: "What kind of big deal? Sister Yan, tell me."
"There's a batch of smuggled vehicles in Qiong Province—about 100,000 units." Sister Yan smiled: "They can get proper documentation and license plates there."
"Really? That's a good thing?" Jia Dai instantly shoved all the unpleasantness aside—nothing mattered more than money: "If we could get 10,000 vehicles, we'd be rolling in it."
"You really dare to dream that big." Zhang Chengyong laughed: "Ten thousand? Even if we three pooled everything and scraped every penny, we could barely afford 5,000. Ten thousand would require mortgaging all our assets."
"Financing isn't an issue." Jia Dai looked at Sister Yan: "This is a guaranteed profit—no loss. But it's a huge piece of meat, and your connections are in the city. Even if we could bite off a chunk, it wouldn't be huge—definitely not enough to need a loan."
Sister Yan laughed: "How big a piece we can take depends entirely on Brother Yong."
Zhang Chengyong pondered: "I can't guarantee I can pull the strings there, but I'll try. If I fail, you can't blame me."
"Of course!" Sister Yan said, as if she could already see money falling from the sky: "I'm leaving tomorrow—too many people are eyeing this meat, I need to rush back and grease the wheels. Even if we don't get 10,000, we must get 5,000."
It's not just them—everyone eyeing this batch of smuggled cars has no idea: this huge piece of meat has already been swallowed by Zhou Andong. All their rushing and scrambling? Totally pointless.
