Chapter 1112: Should We Make Use of Her?
"A-Jiang, over here."
Sheng Jiang walked into the entrance and saw someone waving at him.
Judging by the attire, it was a woman; she had covered herself up tightly and was sitting in an inconspicuous corner.
Yet her outfit was anything but low-key; she was covered in jewels and gold, as if she wished to wear every piece of jewelry she owned at once. Her clothes, skirt, shoes, and bag were all international limited-edition designer brands. Her entire ensemble was screaming one thing—wealth!
Sheng Jiang frowned as he walked over and sat opposite her, thinking: "Say what you have to say quickly; I have things to do afterward."
"What could you possibly have to do? Sit with me for a while and reminisce."
Wang Yingzhi "thoughtfully" poured tea for Sheng Jiang: "This is your favorite West Lake Longjing."
She then pushed snacks toward him: "Osmanthus cake, red bean and yam cake. Try them; I made these at home and brought them over."
Bringing snacks from home to a teahouse—this was something only Wang Yingzhi could do.
On one hand, she wanted to show off in front of others; on the other, she felt spending money was not worth it, so she saved wherever she could.
Although she had been a wealthy wife for many years, her petty nature was ingrained in her bones and could never be changed.
Sheng Jiang's brow knotted into a lump. He didn't even glance at the two plates of snacks and urged impatiently: "I have no past to reminisce about with you. If you don't speak, I will."
"You must have heard the news and come back. That's right, Wang Yinghao is currently bedridden with a serious illness, but don't think your chance has come. I will never abandon Wang Yinghao to be with you. I was weak in the past and harmed everyone for half my life; for the second half, I will absolutely never do that again. Give up. Never mind that Wang Yinghao is seriously ill now; even if she were gone, I wouldn't look for you."
Wang Yingzhi was furious: "Sheng Jiang, you heartless man, do you hate me that much? We were husband and wife for decades, after all. Do you have no feelings for me at all? Do you even have a conscience?"
He touched the spot over his heart and said firmly: "I do. My conscience tells me I must not be soft-hearted toward you. Being soft-hearted toward a woman like you is the greatest cruelty to a woman like Wang Yinghao."
After saying this, he felt refreshed and stood up to leave.
Wang Yingzhi refused to let it go; she chased after him and grabbed his arm: "Don't go! Sheng Jiang, explain yourself clearly. Did you tell someone else about our meeting today? Did someone teach you to say that?"
She didn't believe these were words Sheng Jiang could say.
She knew this man in front of her too well; he was spineless and had never been firm in his entire life.
He had been bullied by her his whole life, yet now he was actually being firm?
Something was wrong. She couldn't accept it, and she refused to accept it.
Sheng Jiang coldly shook off her arm: "That's right, I did tell someone else about meeting you, but the words were all my own. No one taught me. I know you can't accept it and aren't used to it, but there's no need for you to get used to it anyway, since we won't be meeting again."
"You..."
Wang Yingzhi wouldn't let go easily. Just as she wanted to continue pestering him, she saw two men enter from outside.
She let go and bolted, wanting to run out through the back door!
She recognized these two men—they were Sheng Family Bodyguards.
Fortunately, the bodyguards didn't chase her, but as soon as Wang Yingzhi ran out the back door, she knew what was going on—there were people guarding the back as well, the Guards that Shi Yucheng had brought from the Ji Family.
It was over; she couldn't run.
The Shi Family residence.
Wang Yingzhi was tied up like a dumpling on a chair, "muffled" in protest.
The protest was ineffective; no one paid her any mind, as everyone was busy.
Shi Yucheng displayed the authority of a Clan Husband, lecturing and holding his subordinates accountable.
Wang Yingzhi had escaped on their plane, which showed that the security loopholes were severe. Everyone on the plane and the loading crew at the Ji Family would have to be held accountable layer by layer; no one would escape!
Opposite her sat Shi Youxuan, her husband, and Sheng Jiang.
The three were whispering about something, their voices so low that others couldn't hear clearly.
One could see that the expression on Sheng Jiang's face was rich and complex.
Although Wang Yingzhi wasn't very smart, she could guess that the matter they were discussing must have something to do with her. She wanted to know, but no one paid her any attention.
Shi Yuke was playing with the children upstairs, and Gu Zhihao was preparing a meal in the kitchen.
The matter the three were discussing indeed concerned Wang Yingzhi.
Sheng Jiang avoided her like a flood or a wild beast; he wished she would leave immediately and never come back.
But Shi Youxuan wanted to keep her here to "stimulate" her mother-in-law.
Upon hearing the news of Wang Yingzhi's return that morning, her mother-in-law had become very agitated. Because she was on medication, her blood pressure didn't rise, but she had suddenly been able to speak.
Although she couldn't communicate like a normal person yet, it was a good sign and a milestone of progress.
She had asked the doctor, and the doctor said that the six months following the onset of the illness were the golden recovery period. If treated well during this time, there was hope for a full recovery.
But with conventional treatment plans, the possibility was very small—so small it could be completely ignored!
If they used unconventional methods, it was worth a try. There was hope, but the risks were proportional to the hope. She couldn't make the decision alone, so she had to discuss it with her husband and father-in-law.
The "stimulation plan" was simple: let Wang Yingzhi live in the house.
Sheng Hanyu felt the plan was feasible and worth a try.
Sheng Jiang was conservative and even more afraid that Wang Yingzhi would stir up trouble, so he didn't want to try, but he also wanted his wife to get better, so his expression was complex and his heart was conflicted.
Back when he was waiting outside the operating room, heaven knew how worried he was for his wife's safety.
At that time, he had already made up his mind that if his wife passed away, he would follow her!
Having lived a whole life, only the days spent with Wang Yinghao could be called living; he felt his previous days had been lived in vain.
As long as she was alive, it was enough. He served her every day, and being able to see her by his side was happiness.
But what his son and daughter-in-law said was also right; they said life needed quality, and if there was hope, they couldn't give up!
"I have to think about it, think about it carefully."
After much inner turmoil, Sheng Jiang still couldn't make up his mind.
Thus, Wang Yingzhi was locked in the utility room, waiting for him to figure it out.
Gu Zhihao soon prepared a sumptuous meal, but the three members of the Sheng family didn't eat much because they had things on their minds.
He complained unhappily to his wife: "Has my cooking skill regressed? Your second sister's family didn't eat much. Actually, this can't be blamed on me; we usually live in the countryside, and the kitchen supplies here aren't complete, which affects the flavor of the dishes."
Shi Yuke was both annoyed and amused, and she glared at her husband reproachfully: "You, you've become obsessed with cooking. The reason they didn't eat much is because they have things on their minds; it has nothing to do with your cooking level."
"Even if you could make Ginseng Fruit now, and they could live forever after eating it, they wouldn't be able to swallow it."
After his wife explained this, Gu Zhihao felt much better.
As long as his own skills hadn't regressed, he didn't care whether they were in a good mood or not.
Sheng Jiang left the Shi Family, still unable to make up his mind.
But he had to go back; although his wife was taken care of by servants at home, he was worried, as he only felt at ease when he took care of her himself.
