Chapter 1343: Illegitimate Children 2
He had an expression on his face like he had done something he felt guilty about.
Shi Ran was puzzled inside and asked, "Why are you asking so suddenly?"
"Why would I want to leave you when things are going so well?"
"It's nothing, let me have a hug, wife."
Yun Qitian wrapped his arms around his wife's waist and held her.
He didn't know how to tell his wife about meeting Leng Feng!
He hadn't even mentioned it when he was asked at the time.
It was even harder to bring up afterwards.
All night long, the couple tossed and turned, unable to sleep.
Each had their own thoughts, and neither could speak their mind!
Early the next morning.
The couple got up with dark circles under their eyes.
Yun Qitian opened the closet to pack his luggage: "Wife, let's go on a trip."
"Hmm?"
"Okay!"
Shi Ran could see that her husband wanted to escape; what it was didn't matter, what mattered was that she also wanted to escape.
The couple hit it off immediately and left with their bags.
Just as they reached the door, they saw a man standing in front of them with a beaming smile—Leng Feng!
"What are you here for?"
"How did you find my house?"
The couple spoke in unison.
Leng Feng turned a blind eye to their attitude, and he said to Shi Ran with a smile: "Has your husband told you about the illegitimate children he has outside?"
Shi Ran was petrified.
Yun Qitian almost fainted.
"Go home."
Shi Ran used her last shred of composure to drag her husband back home and "Bang!" shut the door.
"What is going on?"
"Do you know him?"
Yun Qitian avoided his wife's gaze: "What are you talking about? I don't understand. I don't know him. That man is just a lunatic, don't pay attention to him."
Originally, Shi Ran was afraid her husband would overthink things, which was why she hadn't mentioned meeting Leng Feng on the plane.
As it turned out, her husband had secrets too, and seemed even more afraid of her finding out.
Shi Ran questioned her husband: "You're lying. Your reaction isn't normal at all. You weren't surprised at all when you saw his face; this isn't normal."
Seeing that he couldn't hide it, Yun Qitian had no choice but to tell the truth.
He was also being sincere and didn't hide a thing, telling her everything exactly as it was.
Illegitimate children.
Several illegitimate children.
Shi Ran couldn't accept it and turned to walk toward the door.
"Ranran, don't go, you can't go!" Yun Qitian blocked her path.
He knew that if he let his wife walk out of this house, that man named Leng Feng would definitely take advantage of the situation.
He couldn't care about anything else.
He had to keep his wife here first.
"Ranran, listen to me. I really didn't know what happened at the time. I was innocent with those women... No, I thought I was innocent. I don't remember a thing about that day..."
"Move!"
Shi Ran said coldly.
If she had known about this before they got married, she wouldn't mind it now.
But what did Yun Qitian say when he was pursuing her?
He said he was very pure and had never had a relationship beyond friendship with those women, yet now several children had suddenly popped up.
Too much had happened in the last two days, and Shi Ran felt she needed some quiet.
It wasn't that she necessarily believed Leng Feng's words; that man who looked exactly like Qi Heng had clearly come with an agenda.
She just needed a place to be alone and sort through all the twists and turns.
However, Yun Qitian misunderstood; he was afraid of losing his wife.
Leng Feng had expressed his love for Shi Ran very clearly, and he was doing this to take advantage of the situation. Yun Qitian couldn't just watch Shi Ran fall into someone else's arms.
"No, I won't move, I won't let you go."
"Yun Qitian, we both need to calm down now. Let's separate for a while; it's better for both of us."
"No, no, it's not good at all."
Yun Qitian shook his head like a rattle-drum, acting as willful as a child: "I don't care, I can't leave you anyway, I won't let you go."
"Move."
"I won't move."
He grabbed his wife's lapels and refused to let go no matter what.
Shi Ran didn't like this; usually, such clinginess was a form of affection, but now, being this persistent felt like acting like a rascal.
"Yun Qitian, if you don't let go, we'll see each other at the Civil Affairs Bureau."
He let go; that was the scene he least wanted to see.
Shi Ran walked out the main gate, and a black Bentley stopped in front of her: "Get in."
The person in the car was Leng Feng.
He really knew how to seize every opportunity.
Shi Ran pretended not to see or hear him and walked around to open her own car.
As the car drove away from the residential complex, Shi Ran wondered if she should go back to her parents' home.
She was conflicted.
If she went back, her mother would definitely find out about this, and she would worry her again.
Her younger sister Sheng Yue had just turned one month old, and her mother's energy was all focused on the newborn.
She was an adult; she should solve her own problems!
So, she prepared to stay at a hotel, to be alone and quiet, and to sort things out.
Jiangzhou Hotel.
Although this was not the largest or most luxurious hotel in Jiangzhou, it had a very famous reputation; government departments stayed here when holding meetings or hosting important guests.
More importantly, this place was not owned by any of the major conglomerates, so none of the family heads would know she was staying out, and she could stay with peace of mind.
She finished the check-in process.
Shi Ran took a shower, put on a bathrobe, and lay on the bed, but she still couldn't sleep.
She hadn't slept all night yesterday, and she still had no sleepiness today; the illegitimate child her husband had suddenly produced had scrambled all her thoughts.
No matter how rational a woman was, she probably couldn't remain rational when encountering something like this.
"Ding-dong—"
The doorbell rang.
Shi Ran thought it was room service and said unhappily, "Who is it?"
"Hello, room service, here to deliver your meal."
"I didn't order any food."
Shi Ran was annoyed at being disturbed.
"That can't be, Miss. You ordered tomato and egg noodles, spiced beef, and blanched heart of greens half an hour ago."
"You've got the wrong room; don't disturb me, or I'll file a complaint against you!"
It sounded quite convincing, but she definitely hadn't ordered food; the waiter must have made a mistake.
There was no more sound from outside.
But this quiet didn't last for two minutes before the sound of the doorbell rang again: "Ding-dong—"
"Hello, Miss Shi Ran, a gentleman named Leng Feng just ordered tomato and egg noodles, spiced beef, and blanched heart of greens for you."
"Mr. Leng's phone number is 139xxxxxx45."
Why was that person like a ghost that wouldn't go away?
Shi Ran pulled the door open and handed the waiter a few red banknotes: "Please dump the food away, or if you think it's a waste, take a taxi and deliver it to the pig farm on the outskirts of the city; this is for the taxi fare."
"Miss Shi, isn't that a bit inappropriate?" the waiter hesitated.
"Not enough?"
Shi Ran pulled two more bills from her wallet: "Is this enough now?"
"Enough, enough."
The waiter left, and just as Shi Ran was about to close the door, it was held open by a large hand; Leng Feng was standing in front of her again, like a ghost that wouldn't go away.
"I have something to tell you."
Shi Ran said coldly, "I have nothing to say to you."
"Aren't you interested in your husband's illegitimate child?"
Shi Ran paused for two seconds.
"Go to the coffee shop on the second floor and wait for me; I'll be there shortly."
Leng Feng left, and Shi Ran closed the door, changed her clothes, and went to the second-floor coffee shop.
He was already waiting there, and had even ordered coffee for her.
He had ordered Blue Mountain, which was Shi Ran's favorite.
