Chapter 1384: The Pattern of Class Twelve
Not a single student in Class Twelve did not admire Sheng Zichen.
The next day.
Except for the students in Class Twelve, the entire school was discussing the student who jumped from the building in the third grade, and discussing whether Teacher Tian's high-pressure policies were right or wrong; only in Class Twelve did no one discuss it, as they went about their morning reading and classes as usual, waiting for the results of the mock exam to come out.
Before the exam results were even out, people from the Education Bureau arrived!
The parents of the student from Class Three who jumped from the building went to the Education Bureau and reported Teacher Tian.
Their child was diagnosed at the hospital with mania and stage one schizophrenia personality disorder.
The doctor said it was caused by excessive pressure; because the child was sick, they had to drop out of school and stay home, and with only half a year left until the College Entrance Examination after twelve years of hard work, their child was now unable to take it.
The parents could not accept such a thing, so they quietly investigated the classmates who had a good relationship with their child, and thus those three high-pressure policies of Teacher Tian were exposed!
The parents were furious.
They believed that all of this was the head teacher's fault; if she hadn't pressured the child like that, their child wouldn't have gotten sick.
The student's parents went to reason with the teacher, but Teacher Tian shirked all responsibility, pushing all the blame onto the student, saying the child got sick because their psychological endurance was weak.
Otherwise, out of more than fifty children in the class, why didn't anyone else jump, but your child did?
Teacher Tian's ability to shift blame had long since been honed to perfection.
She was glib and sophistically claimed that the reason their child jumped was because of puppy love, which left them with no heart to study well, and fearing their parents would be angry about poor grades, they suddenly had a breakdown in the exam hall...
The same old trick again.
But unfortunately, this girl's parents were not like Lu Feifei's parents; they believed their child didn't have puppy love, and they also saw that Teacher Tian was lying.
In a fit of rage, they reported her to the Education Bureau and threatened that if the Education Bureau didn't handle it, they would take it to the media.
In this day and age, the speed of information dissemination is too fast.
Even those without problems fear media reports, let alone those who have problems.
The girl's parents acted very quickly; they brought reporters with them directly, and the reporters demanded to go to the school with the people from the Education Bureau to investigate; Liu Jun was not very willing, but he had no choice.
You wouldn't know until you investigated, but one investigation gave them a shock; all sorts of problems came out.
Accepting expensive gifts from parents.
Looking favorably upon students who gave gifts, and suppressing and belittling students who did not.
Judging people by their status and looking down on students from poor family backgrounds.
Obsession with grades above all else.
Students with good grades were the treasures of the class, and those with bad grades were nothing... those same rules from before the exam were all exposed!
Such a teacher is not fit to be a mentor.
The Education Bureau issued a suspension for Teacher Tian, telling her to go home to reflect and write a self-criticism.
That evening, Teacher Tian went to Liu Jun's home, crying, begging her cousin-in-law to show mercy and let her off the hook.
Liu Jun shook his head and sighed: "I want to let you off the hook, but the students' parents don't agree; do you know how many complaints I received today?"
His phone was almost blown up today.
Many students' parents called to demand severe punishment for such a teacher, saying it was too much and violated professional ethics.
Teacher Tian came crying and left her cousin's house crying.
Three days later.
The results of the first mock exam came out; the first place was still the Experimental Class, and Class Twelve ranked second in the whole school.
"Kids, I'm treating you to a meal! Let's celebrate!" Teacher Luo shouted with his arms raised.
"Great!"
"Not great."
There was agreement, but immediately there were voices of opposition.
"Teacher, you don't need to treat us; the whole class will go Dutch."
"Right, go Dutch!"
Teacher Luo's salary was not high, but he was very generous; whenever the class's grades improved, he would treat them to a meal, and whenever grades improved, he would treat them to a meal.
One or two meals were fine, but who could stand it for a long time?
Teachers are human too and have to support their families and make a living.
Zichen suggested that the students go Dutch, and it was immediately met with a chorus of approval.
"No, no, I can still afford a meal." Teacher Luo's face turned red; he was a bit embarrassed.
"Teacher, if it weren't for the fear of you making a mistake, we should be the ones treating you."
"Teacher, going Dutch is just fine; you go Dutch for your share too. Even close brothers settle accounts clearly, but we are still close brothers." Litian was already calling the teacher brother.
In the end, the minority followed the majority; everyone went Dutch, and the location was the school Cafeteria.
Teacher Luo used his own special privileges to secure some benefits for the students—leaving class five minutes early to go to the Cafeteria and grab seats.
The so-called dinner party was just everyone sitting in their own seats, eating together!
Although everyone ate their own food, they didn't refuse the fact that Teacher Luo was treating them to drinks; dozens of bottles of drinks wouldn't bankrupt Teacher Luo, and the whole class was happy together.
This unique way of gathering in Class Twelve made other classes envious.
Of course, they weren't envious of dining in the Cafeteria, but of that kind of cohesion and high spirits.
There were still over a hundred days until the College Entrance Examination; the third grade was actually not just Class Three, every class was nervous, wishing they could use one day as two.
Students went to the Cafeteria wearing headphones to listen to vocabulary, but they didn't end up hearing the words because they saw Class Twelve.
After the dinner, the students happily returned to the classroom; they still had to work hard, as celebrating was for the sake of effort being rewarded, not for resting on their laurels and being complacent.
This was what the Class Monitor said, and the Class Monitor's image in their minds was actually even greater than Teacher Luo's.
Everyone felt that what Zichen said made sense and was willing to believe it!
Teacher Luo went to the Principal's office.
"Teacher Luo is here? Come, sit, sit."
The Principal greeted him very warmly, personally brewing tea and bringing out fruit and snacks.
"Try these; they are snacks my daughter brought back from a business trip to Suzhou. I'm not used to the taste, but I reckon you might like them."
Teacher Luo was from Suzhou; that was his hometown.
"Principal, I just came from the Cafeteria and I'm too full to eat any snacks."
The Principal was slightly taken aback, but soon beamed with joy: "It doesn't matter if you can't eat them now, just take them home when you get off work." As he spoke, he brought out a bag, and there was quite a lot.
To show courtesy for no reason is either treacherous or thieving... no, that's not right, there must be a reason.
During holidays and festivals, the Principal only ever received gifts from teachers; there was no logic in him giving gifts to teachers, let alone when it wasn't even a holiday or festival.
"Little Luo, you've come at just the right time. I happen to have a matter I'd like to discuss with you. You already know about the situation with the Experimental Class, so I won't waste words. I want you to lead the Experimental Class; what do you think?"
Teacher Luo asked: "Then what about Class Twelve?"
"The students in Class Twelve like you so much, I couldn't possibly deprive them of what they love. You will remain the homeroom teacher for Class Twelve, and the Experimental Class will be an additional duty. Of course, it will be harder than it is now, but it's only for a little over a hundred days."
"The Experimental Class has a good foundation and the students' grades are stable; they are very easy to lead. Once they graduate, your reputation will skyrocket. By then, you will undoubtedly be the best homeroom teacher in our school. Next year, you'll lead the Experimental Class, become an excellent teacher, a backbone of the faculty..." The Principal began to paint a big picture for Teacher Luo.
But it had to be said, this picture was big and round, and it wouldn't be hard to realize.
