Chapter 1418: Not Enemies, Not Met
"Hey! How are you walking? Why aren't you looking where you're going? If you aren't going to use your eyeballs, donate them to someone who can, so they don't go to waste!"
Although the girl was not very old, her tongue was sharp and biting.
Zichen had just been about to apologize, but after being mocked, he didn't apologize anymore and retorted: "You're asking me how I'm walking? The road is so wide, no one else bumped into me, but you did. Of course I look where I'm walking, but I don't see things that aren't human, so that's not my fault."
"Who are you calling not human?"
"Whoever it is knows it in their heart."
The two of them started arguing.
Shi Youxuan, lacking any "loyalty," pulled Litian to stand to one side and watch the spectacle.
Zichen and that girl went back and forth, arguing for a long time without a clear winner.
Litian asked his mother: "Mom, should we help?"
Shi Youxuan refused flatly: "No. Your brother is a grown young man; arguing with a young girl is already lacking in grace, we certainly won't help him."
"Stand further away and pretend we don't know him, so others don't mistake us for being with him."
Litian was speechless.
Did that even need to be mistaken?
They were together in the first place.
Ten minutes later.
Still no winner. The girl glanced at the watch on her wrist; it wouldn't do, if she didn't leave now, she would be late.
She pointed at Zichen and said: "You just wait for me. Sooner or later, you're going to fall into my hands."
After saying this, she picked up the vegetables on the ground and left.
Zichen had kindly intended to help, wanting to brush the dust off the outside of her bag.
But his kindness was treated like donkey liver and lungs.
The girl pushed him away: "I don't need your help. Anyway, you've offended me, so you're finished."
She huffed and puffed as she carried the bag away.
Zichen stared at the girl's back until she had walked quite far before turning around: Huh? Where did Mom and my younger brother go?
He saw them sitting on a bench under the shade of a tree, legs crossed.
He walked over, dissatisfied: "Are you two really my family? I was being bullied and you didn't even help me."
Shi Youxuan stood up and patted her son on the shoulder: "That shameless attitude of yours is not like your father, and even less like me. She's just a girl; you bumped into her and then argued with her, and you still want us to help you?"
"You have the nerve to say that, but we don't have the nerve to help; we can't afford to lose that kind of face with you."
Zichen:...
Shi Youxuan sent Zichen to his dormitory. It was a six-person room, and three people had already arrived.
She didn't climb up and down to help her child make the bed like other parents; instead, she pulled a few small gifts out of her bag as if performing magic to give to his roommates.
"From now on, you are all brothers in the same dormitory. Meeting is fate, and being able to get along for several years is a fate cultivated over several lifetimes. Just some small things, keep them to play with..."
In a short while.
Shi Youxuan was already very familiar with Zichen's roommates, chatting and laughing quite lively.
Poor Litian climbed up and down, finally helping his older brother make the bed and hang the mosquito net.
The two brothers climbed down from the bunk, and Shi Youxuan clapped her hands and called to Litian: "Let's go, time to take you to school."
Arriving at Litian School, it was the same routine.
She didn't bother with anything else, only chatting and talking with the roommates; small tasks like organizing the bed, paying tuition, and buying daily necessities were all left for the children to handle themselves.
But when she turned to leave the school and sat in the car, she didn't drive home immediately.
Instead, she sent detailed messages to both sons regarding the personalities, hobbies, strengths, weaknesses, and taboos of their respective roommates.
She told her sons: "This is as much as I can help you with. The rest is up to you. Wishing you all the best!"
Zichen received the WeChat message from his mother, read it in detail, and almost shed tears.
His mother seemed unreliable, but in fact, she was the most reliable mother; her love was as deep and great as any mother's love.
She wouldn't get hung up on trifles, yet she wouldn't miss a single detail.
He replied: Yo yo yo, who would have thought my dear mother had such a delicate side? Thanks!
His mood wasn't very light, but he made his tone sound very light.
Litian wasn't as good at "disguising" as Zichen; he cried the moment he saw what was written on WeChat.
But it wasn't good to cry in front of new classmates, so he buried his head in his pillow, his shoulders heaving as he sobbed.
Just at this moment, Teacher Li came to find him.
Before the person had even entered, his loud voice had already arrived: "Sheng Litian! Sheng Litian, I heard you arrived..."
"What's wrong with you?"
"Nothing."
"If it's nothing, then what is it? Let me see."
Teacher Li's most valued student could not have problems the moment he arrived at school.
He forced Litian to lift his head; there was no choice, he had to lift it, and so Litian's tear-streaked face was seen by everyone in the room.
"Why are you crying?"
"Missing your mom, right?"
Someone added, and Litian didn't deny it. Teacher Li had a constipated expression on his face, the dormitory suddenly went quiet, and a moment later, it erupted in laughter.
"Don't laugh, you all, don't laugh!"
Litian jumped down from the bed, stamping his feet in a hurry.
Consequently, the students' laughter became even more cheerful.
"Hahahaha..."
Standing among his classmates, the two-meter-tall Litian looked like a King Kong; it was hard to associate such an appearance with being a "mama's boy."
But if he wasn't a "mama's boy," it was also hard to imagine why he would cry like that just because his mother had left!
Jiangzhou University.
Zichen and his roommates soon hit it off; everyone had different interests and hobbies, but they were able to understand and tolerate each other, chatting happily.
Everything was going well, but when it came time to eat, a disagreement occurred.
Zichen planned to go to the most famous Cafeteria in the school for dinner; it was said that they had hired very famous chefs from outside, and the food they made was very distinctive.
His roommates wanted to just eat at the nearest Cafeteria; it was the first day of registration, there were many things to prepare, and they didn't want to waste time walking far.
The students had only met that day and did not yet understand Zichen's obsession with gourmet food.
So Litian went to the famous Cafeteria alone for dinner.
He arrived right at mealtime, and a long line stretched from the service window all the way to the door.
Zichen took a tray from the disinfection cabinet and joined the back of the line.
It was finally his turn, and a young female voice from inside the window asked, "What would you like to eat?"
Uh!
The voice sounded a bit familiar?
The two locked eyes, and both recognized each other at the same time.
Talk about a small world; the person serving food at the window wasn't the legendary middle-aged auntie, but actually the young girl who had bumped into him that morning.
"What would you like to eat?" the girl asked in a harsh tone, clearly having recognized Zichen as well.
"I'll have a little bit of everything."
"I can't serve that." The girl impatiently tossed the spoon into the vegetable tray.
Zichen was no pushover, so he certainly wasn't going to just let it go.
"What kind of attitude is that? Apologize to me."
"Why should I apologize to you? You're really funny; there are seven or eight dishes here, and you only have space for three on your tray, yet you want a little bit of everything? It won't fit."
This explanation was much more reasonable.
The student behind him grew impatient and asked, "Classmate, can you hurry up?"
Zichen decided not to pursue it further, and his appetite was gone.
