Chapter 1534: Litian Changes Career
The plane finally landed.
Litian came out of the arrival gate and spotted his parents at a glance.
"Mom!" He ran straight toward Shi Youxuan.
"My good son, let Mom have a look!" Shi Youxuan looked her son up and down and said with heartache, "Why have you gotten so dark again? And you've lost weight, but it's good that you're back; go home and get some good nourishment."
"It won't take long to get fair again once I'm home."
"Hehe." Litian scratched his head and gave an honest smile.
He had performed excellently in the military, with physical fitness scores that were almost all first place!
It was impossible to stay fair and chubby with such a high volume of exercise.
"I had Fang Jie prepare salted pork ribs, red-braised pork, spicy stir-fried clams, steamed king crab..." These were all things Litian liked to eat; he loved meat and was also very fond of seafood.
Although there were many children in the family, Shi Youxuan knew exactly what kind of tastes each child liked and what their temperaments and hobbies were.
The family happily went back home.
Litian had earned honors in the military, and upon returning to school, he had a guaranteed spot for a master's degree; if all went well after graduation, he would be kept on at the school as a teacher.
Everyone was satisfied with this outcome.
Litian's personality was upright and not slick, so he was not suited for business.
He had originally wanted to stay in the military, but his special background destined that there would be no great future for him there.
Moreover, the university did not want to let him go, so it was better to come back.
Zirui and Zihan surrounded their second brother, asking him how many days he could stay at home and when he would return to school.
Had he seen Moli in the military?
"I couldn't see him; we weren't in the same place. But I heard he's doing quite well. When he first went, he was as delicate as a flower bud in a greenhouse, but now his physical fitness and all other aspects have improved quite a bit, though he has also suffered quite a lot."
Shi Youxuan told her son that it was enough to just say these things at home.
If it were in front of his aunt, he must never say that her son had suffered, otherwise, he would be questioned endlessly, to the point of being driven to a breakdown!
Litian nodded cautiously.
Shi Youxuan encouraged Zihan to learn from his second brother; how wonderful it would be to be a university teacher in the future!
Zihan curled his lips and expressed a different opinion: "I don't want to be a teacher."
Sheng Hanyu was quite happy: "Exactly. Even a dragon has nine sons, and each is different. Every child has a different direction for development; you can't see one path that is good and make all the children follow it. Zihan will be very good at doing business in the future."
He had already planned out a future direction for Zihan.
Zihan had a lively personality, natural charisma, a quick mind, and many ideas; such a person was born to do business.
Zirui had a sense of the big picture and was a born leader; with Zihan as his assistant, the two brothers would be a golden duo.
Now his wife was actually saying she wanted Zihan to learn from Litian and become a university teacher in the future?
Of course, he disagreed.
With his son clearly expressing his disagreement, Sheng Hanyu asked, "What do you want to do in the future?"
"I want to be a tour guide."
"What? Hmph!"
He did not get the answer he wanted and was very disappointed.
Be a tour guide?
Just as unpromising as the eldest son's ideal.
"Cough, cough," Shi Youxuan choked.
"What's wrong with you? Are you okay, Mom?" Zihan dutifully came over to help pat his mother's back.
"Move aside, you're always so unserious, making random jokes."
"I'm not joking; I'm being serious."
"Serious, my foot. Why do you want to be a tour guide?"
"Tour guides can meet a lot of beautiful women, or being an agent in the entertainment industry would work too, or a clerk in a luxury store."
All of Zihan's "ideals" were actually just to have more contact with beautiful women.
Since that was the case, it was easy to handle.
Shi Youxuan said, "Do you know what kind of person is most popular with beautiful women? That would be a second-generation rich kid, preferably a talented second-generation rich kid..."
The Sheng family father and sons were all dumbfounded.
Can you even educate children like this?
Why does it sound so unreliable?
Sheng Hanyu interrupted his wife and said to his son with a tough attitude: "No way. Stop thinking about those nonsense things. Go to university to study economics, and then be your third brother's right-hand man. That's settled."
Zihan was very repulsed by his father's tough attitude and retorted: "Why don't you ask Second Brother to study economics? Why don't you let Big Brother inherit the family business? You don't demand these things of others, but you demand them of me. You're too biased."
"I raised you this big just so you could talk back to me? I'm doing this for your own good..."
"You parents are all the same, interfering with the things we like under the guise of doing it for our own good. I'm not listening to you..."
Zihan had always been the most obedient one since he was a child.
An obedient child talking back was the most infuriating thing.
Sheng Hanyu wanted to continue asserting his authority, but was stopped by his wife's gaze, so he went to the Study in a huff.
Shi Youxuan used only one sentence to make Zihan change his mind: "According to statistics, capable second-generation rich kids are the most popular with beautiful women, much better than those flashy professions of yours."
"Really? Whose statistics?"
"Authoritative statistics, of course. If you don't believe me, look for yourself."
During the argument between father and son just now, Shi Youxuan had looked up the latest list of professions for men that are popular with women.
Zihan beamed with joy: "I'll be Third Brother's right-hand man."
He had always called Zirui by his name, but now, for the sake of a beauty, he had even unconsciously called him "Sange."
Shi Youxuan smiled at her son and said, "So, do you know what you should do now?"
Zihan reacted quickly and immediately apologized to his father.
He claimed that he had just been joking and asked his father not to take it seriously.
He was still a good, obedient child, and would always be a good child...
Whether he was a good child or not remained to be seen.
But after he said plenty of nice things, Sheng Hanyu, knowing full well why his son had changed his mind so instantly, felt his anger dissipate quite a bit.
This topic was closed.
Litian asked Zihan, "By the way, why didn't you go to Teacher Luo's class?"
Zihan glared fiercely at Zirui: "Ask him, this is all his fault."
"How is it my fault?"
Zihan smiled and said, "Wasn't it you who took the initiative to tell Teacher Tian that you wanted to go to her class? Since your self-control is poor and Teacher Tian is strict, it was just right."
"You said the same thing to Sange last time, have you forgotten?"
Zihan had indeed forgotten.
Back then, he had bragged that going to Teacher Tian's class was his own idea, and he had even painted himself as being very noble.
But in the end, he had lifted a rock only to drop it on his own feet; every time he brought this up, Zirui would use it as a shield!
In the past, he had suffered in silence, but now he did not want to endure it anymore.
"It wasn't me who said it; I lied before, it was all you who said it."
"I wanted to go to Teacher Luo's class. If I had gone to Teacher Luo's class, how great would that have been? I could have played however I wanted, been happy, and talked to the female classmates, instead of being like it is now—entering Teacher Tian's class is just like entering a monastery."
Zihan felt aggrieved, but after being glared at by his father, he was too scared to speak.
