Chapter 16: Love at First Sight
Shi Youxuan's reply refreshed her understanding once again: "No, my husband said that outsiders are not allowed to enter our room."
She deliberately emphasized the two words "outsiders."
Shi Yuke had originally intended to go to her younger sister's bedroom to coax her into giving her a few good things; of course, that wasn't the most important thing.
The most important thing was the equity certificate; she hadn't given up hope and still wanted to coax it into her own hands!
As it turned out, the mission started poorly. The fool who was always obedient was not "well-behaved" at all today. With the housekeeper and bodyguards present, she didn't dare to go too far; after all, Jiang Siwei was a cautionary tale from just a moment ago.
Shi Yuke tried her best to maintain the smile on her face, patiently coaxing Shi Youxuan and saying she had private words to say to her.
But she just wouldn't budge, and the housekeeper and bodyguards were like surveillance monitors, completely lacking any tact.
With no other choice, she could only speak up to drive them away: "Please step aside, I have something to say to my sister."
The housekeeper didn't move an inch, and without even blinking, he refused without hesitation: "I'm sorry, Miss Shi, the Eldest Young Master instructed me to take good care of the Eldest Young Mistress and not let outsiders bully her."
Shi Youxuan thought to herself: He doesn't even come home, when did he give that instruction?
However, she didn't make a sound, while Shi Yuke and Jiang Siwei were furious.
Jiang Siwei was about to lose her temper again, but Shi Yuke pulled her back and patiently explained to the housekeeper: "We are Xuanxuan's sisters, not outsiders."
"That won't do either."
The housekeeper didn't back down in the slightest, insisting that if she had something to say, she should say it in front of him, or not say it at all!
Even a person with a good temper would be unhappy being provoked by the housekeeper like this again and again, let alone Shi Yuke, whose temper was not good to begin with.
Being rejected repeatedly today made the anger in her heart rise "higher and higher."
Her eyes darted, and she said: "Xuanxuan, shall we play a game? Let's play the one you usually like the most."
Shi Yuke wanted to make her sister make a fool of herself in front of her in-laws' servants; let's see who would respect her after that?
Even if she didn't get anything herself, it didn't matter; in any case, she couldn't stand to see the fool doing well.
"Okay."
Shi Youxuan smiled slightly, the corners of her mouth lifting to reveal a trace of mockery.
Shi Yuke felt something was not quite right, but she had no time to ponder it; she wanted to see Shi Youxuan make a fool of herself immediately.
Banknotes of different denominations were thrown onto the floor as usual. Shi Youxuan pointed at the money on the floor and said to Shi Yuke: "Pick it up. Where is the upbringing Mom taught you? How can you throw things on the floor? You are really losing face for the Shi Family."
……
Shi Yuke was extremely familiar with this sentence.
From childhood to adulthood, she had used this sentence to lecture Shi Youxuan countless times in front of outsiders, but she never imagined that one day Shi Youxuan would return this sentence to her—not only in front of outsiders, but also in front of the servants!
Shi Yuke's beautiful, fair face flushed bright red. Her lips parted and closed several times, but she couldn't find the right words to argue back.
But she didn't give up. After picking up the banknotes from the floor, she held one in each hand and offered them to Shi Youxuan: "Sister, which one do you want?"
She gave Jiang Siwei a wink, and both of them waited triumphantly for the fool to make a fool of herself, but Shi Youxuan pulled out the one with the highest denomination!
……
Huh?
Shi Yuke widened her eyes in disbelief.
From childhood to adulthood, she had lost count of how many times they had played this game. She was used to Shi Youxuan picking the small-denomination banknotes and then mocking her to her heart's content, but this time she chose the big one!
Shi Yuke didn't believe the fool had suddenly become smart, so she compared the large and small denominations again and again for her to choose, but every single time, Shi Youxuan chose the big one.
"Bastard." Shi Yuke was exasperated and raised her hand to strike Shi Youxuan's face.
She had endured for a long time just now, and now she couldn't keep up the act at all.
She was the type of person who always had to take advantage and never suffer a loss. It wasn't that she cared about the few banknotes in her wallet, but she had been full of joy preparing to watch the show, only to find out in the end that she was the one being played, and she immediately became enraged.
But this time, before the bodyguard could reach out to stop her, a stern shout came from behind: "Stop."
"If you dare to touch a single finger of hers, I will take your life!"
Sheng Hanyu, in a black suit and wearing sunglasses, entered from outside the door, surrounded by seven or eight bodyguards.
Shi Yuke's face turned deathly pale, and she hurriedly explained: "Eldest Young Master Sheng, you've misunderstood. I was just playing around with my sister."
As she spoke, she poked Jiang Siwei in the waist with her hand, meaning for her to chime in.
"So handsome!" Jiang Siwei stared at Sheng Hanyu like a lovesick fan, unwilling to blink even once, and she was almost drooling.
She hadn't heard a word of what Shi Yuke said.
When Sheng Hanyu walked past Jiang Siwei, she even tried to lean in: "Handsome..."
But before she could even touch the corner of his clothes, she was pushed aside by a bodyguard.
Sheng Hanyu came to Shi Youxuan: "Are you okay?"
Everyone could hear that he was asking—did Shi Yuke hurt her just now? He was preparing to vent her anger for her!
Only Shi Youxuan smiled foolishly and shook her head: "I'm fine, I'm not looking for you."
……
It was as if the two of them were talking about completely different things.
Sheng Hanyu didn't pursue the matter, and without even turning around, he coldly instructed the people beside him: "No outsiders are allowed in this house from now on." He exuded a powerful, cold aura that made people shiver involuntarily.
Shi Yuke and Jiang Siwei were driven out of the Villa, and the expressions on their faces were completely different.
"He is so handsome, his aura is two point eight meters tall..." Jiang Siwei was still in a lovesick daze.
Shi Yuke was annoyed and impatient, interrupting her cousin's incessant chatter: "He's just a blind man. No matter how handsome he is, it's useless; he's just for show and not for use."
This sentence was less for Jiang Siwei to hear and more to comfort herself.
She was agitated. Just now, Sheng Hanyu was so gentle to Shi Youxuan, so good to the fool—on what grounds?
She was just a fool!
Originally, all of this should have belonged to her. Although it was something she didn't want, seeing Sheng Hanyu treat Shi Youxuan well, she still couldn't stand it.
And the place Shi Youxuan lived in, the clothes she wore, the jewelry she sported—everything made Shi Yuke jealous.
Those good things were all her favorites, yet they had nothing to do with her; even when she wanted to get her hands on one or two pieces, the housekeeper would look at her with eyes full of wariness, just as if looking at a thief.
Most importantly, she had traveled such a long distance to come here originally intending to ask for the equity documents back, yet she didn't even have the chance to state her purpose; it was too stifling.
Shi Yuke was unwilling to go back just like that, yet she had no better reason to stay.
Arriving at the car and before she could get in, a man blocked her path, not hiding the joy and amazement in his eyes at all: "Eldest Miss Shi? What a coincidence, I didn't expect to run into you here."
