Chapter 177: Scheming Against a Sister-in-Law
Sheng Yukai turned his head and said to his younger brother, "Sheng Zerong, you heard it all, right? All that talk of deep brotherly love is just for show, meant for others to see. Only at critical moments can you tell what truly carries weight."
"He likes beauties, so what are you supposed to be? He didn't suppress you before because you were never his match; he never even looked your way..."
Sheng Yukai spouted nonsense to his heart's content, sowing discord.
Sheng Hanyu did not argue back, his eyes fixed firmly on the hand holding the remote control, his mind racing to figure out how to safely rescue his third brother!
He could not provoke him.
His emotions were very unstable right now; if his hand shook even a little, his third brother would lose his life!
Sheng Yukai was a lecher; he had known that for a long time.
He had let many things slide for the sake of women before; he couldn't still be clutching the remote control while doing whatever he planned to do, could he?
As long as his hand left the remote control for one second, he was confident he could safely rescue Ze Rong.
He would absolutely never let anyone lay a finger on his wife, but the time difference in between could be utilized. Sheng Hanyu knew this was risky and he was extremely reluctant, but it was the only way.
He had thought through all of this, yet it all happened within a few seconds.
The brothers shared a tacit understanding. Sheng Zerong shook his head slightly, his gaze pleading as he stared at his eldest brother, begging him to take his sister-in-law and leave immediately, not to worry about him.
He gave his brother a comforting look, signaling him to trust his eldest brother, that he would definitely rescue him.
"Fine, she's just a woman; if you want her, take her." Sheng Hanyu suddenly changed his attitude and agreed.
He spoke this way to make Sheng Yukai feel that he did not value Shi Youxuan very much, so that he might abandon the idea.
Sheng Yukai had a flaw since childhood: whatever his eldest brother liked, he would try every possible means to possess it for himself; if his eldest brother didn't like it, then no matter how good it was, it didn't matter.
Shi Yuke was an example of this.
However, these words sounded very uncomfortable to Shi Youxuan's ears, even though she knew this was likely his expedient measure and not his true inner thoughts.
But she still felt sad.
"What did you say? Say it again?"
Sheng Yukai had originally thought he would definitely not agree, never expecting him to agree so readily.
The other party agreed, but Sheng Yukai could not believe his ears; he could not believe this was real!
So he repeated it again: "I said I agree to your terms."
"Good, hahahaha, good!"
Sheng Yukai was extremely excited, dropping the Dagger, his eyes gleaming as he stared at Shi Youxuan and grinned: "Baby, you heard it, right? You're mine now. Your husband is trading you for his brother. Brothers are like limbs, wives are like clothes. I am also a brother to your husband, and who cares whose clothes are worn by whom..."
He leered as he stepped forward, and Shi Youxuan stepped back.
Seeing that she was about to back out of the Study door, Sheng Yukai suddenly changed his face, shouting sternly: "Stop! If you take another step back, I'm going to press it!"
Shi Youxuan stopped and did not retreat further.
He continued to command: "Take off your clothes. Do it right here; it's lively with more people."
"Sheng Yukai, you are truly shameless, absolutely disgraceful!" Shi Youxuan was furious.
Sheng Yukai wanted her to do it here, to take off her clothes in front of several men—how could that be possible? She absolutely would not agree.
Shi Youxuan stood still.
He said to Sheng Hanyu: "Make her take them off." After finishing, he shook the remote control in his hand as a threat.
The atmosphere in the Study was exceptionally tense. Shi Youxuan's doe-like eyes looked at Sheng Hanyu, wet with tears, breaking his heart.
He had to have his wife, and he could not lose his brother either.
He suddenly grabbed his third brother's arm with one hand, then grabbed Sheng Yukai with the other: "At worst, we'll perish together. I'm not a man afraid of death. Sheng Yukai, don't go too far. Killing someone is just a matter of a moment; no one could agree to such a demand."
He gave Shi Youxuan a slight wink, his gaze firm, letting her rest assured.
"Let go! Did you hear me? Let go!" Sheng Yukai struggled hard, but helplessly, his large hand was as tight as an iron pincer; he couldn't pry it open with one hand at all.
Sheng Yukai threatened: "If you don't let go, I'm going to press the button, okay?"
"Press it!"
Sheng Hanyu's hawk-like eyes glared at him. Sweat began to appear on his face, and a trace of panic appeared in his expression; his finger was even a bit further away from the remote control.
He didn't want to die. He had caused such a big commotion to kill others and seize everything for himself, not to perish with them!
Sheng Hanyu had suddenly used this tactic; he hadn't expected it, but he believed that if Sheng Hanyu were pushed to the edge, he really would do it.
It was precisely because he believed it that he couldn't take the risk.
In his anxiety, he clamped the remote control in his mouth and freed his hand to pry at the hand Sheng Hanyu was using to grab him!
The opportunity had come.
Shi Youxuan was quick-witted and fast-handed; she rushed over with a "whoosh" and swung her fist, smashing it into his chin.
Sheng Yukai felt the pain, his mouth opened, and the remote control flew out, landing right in Shi Youxuan's hands.
She caught it steadily with both hands, then turned and ran outside.
Once she was sure she had run to a safe place, she shouted excitedly: "Hit him! Beat him to death! The remote control is in my hands!"
In fact, before she even shouted, the fighting had already started inside.
Sheng Yukai was no match for Sheng Hanyu at all, and within a few moves, he was beaten until he collapsed on the ground.
The bodyguards outside rushed in, working together to subdue Sheng Yukai and dismantle the explosives on Sheng Zerong's body. He was safe.
The two of them didn't call the police and didn't immediately send Sheng Yukai to the police station.
He had already been inside twice, but each time he was able to cunningly escape.
Sheng Yukai was tied to the chair where Sheng Zerong had just been tied. The three of them sat opposite him, with bodyguards guarding every door. Even if Sheng Yukai grew wings, he wouldn't be able to fly out of here.
"Where is Father?" Sheng Zerong asked.
When he came yesterday, he had asked this question too, only to drink a cup of tea and know nothing more.
When he woke up, he was tied to a chair, and after his eldest brother called, explosives were even strapped to his body!
The first time he asked this, he had still held onto a glimmer of hope, feeling that he had overthought things.
But after what happened in the middle of the night, the sliver of hope in Sheng Zerong's heart grew smaller and smaller, leaving only a tiny bit behind.
"Dad? Dad took money and ran off with a woman."
"You're full of shit."
Sheng Zerong's eyes were wide with rage, his lips trembling with anger: "Dad called me and told me everything about the disgusting things you've done. Even at a time like this, you're still spouting nonsense. Sheng Yukai, are you even human?"
When Sheng Hai was alive, he had called Sheng Zerong to ask him to come back and take over the Clan business, but he hadn't been willing.
That day, his father seemed to have had a bit to drink and said so many, many things to him, even saying that if he were to suddenly go missing, it must have been Sheng Yukai who harmed him...
At the time, he hadn't paid it any mind, thinking it was just drunken talk from his father.
But not long after that call, his father couldn't be reached, and his mother had been sent to a mental hospital; only then did Sheng Zerong decide to return to the country.
Under the relentless offensive of several people, Sheng Yukai began to panic, his words full of holes, incoherent and contradictory.
Finally, having no way to quibble any longer, he could only admit that Sheng Hai had indeed been killed by him!
Grandfather as well.
But then he revealed another earth-shattering secret: "Jian Yixin is not dead."
Sheng Hanyu glanced at him with disdain: "At a time like this, is there any point in you still lying?"
"I'm not lying."
Sheng Yukai slumped in his chair as if his bones had been removed, saying weakly: "As the saying goes, the words of a dying man are good; I know you won't let me go, so there is no point in me telling this lie. Jian Yixin is indeed not dead!"
"Where is she?"
Sheng Hanyu didn't know why he had asked such a thing, but he asked it nonetheless.
Shi Youxuan glanced at him, her gaze very hurt.
He noticed, but pretended not to; he didn't look back, nor did he offer comfort, because he truly didn't know how to comfort her.
Sheng Yukai shook his head: "I don't know."
