Chapter 189: Two Wicked Women
Shi Yuke had no better tone with her: "I want to live here, is that any of your business? When will you be able to find me a plastic surgeon? It's been so long with just this little thing, dragging your feet and never giving me a definite answer?"
Back then, Jian Yixin had sought out Shi Yuke and used the conditions of finding her a plastic surgeon and bringing down Sheng Yukai to exchange for all of Shi Youxuan's information!
Of course, what she wanted wasn't the kind that could be checked through official channels, but rather Shi Youxuan's personality weaknesses and flaws.
Shi Yuke had told her a lot at the time, but it turned out that when Jian Yixin tried to implement them, she discovered that none of it was true.
She lowered her voice and roared at Shi Yuke: "You still have the nerve to ask me for a definite answer? Is Shi Youxuan really your sister, or are you sisters colluding to deliberately play me for a fool?"
Shi Yuke laughed in a way that was begging for a beating: "Hahahaha... You didn't manage to outwit her either, did you? Heaven and earth as my witness, not a single word I told you was a lie; it was all true. But that woman is too cunning; it's normal that you couldn't beat her."
That Jian Yixin would lose to Shi Youxuan, she didn't find strange.
A woman who could start pretending to be a fool at twelve and keep it up for eight years under the noses of herself and her mother without a single slip-up—if she were defeated by Jian Yixin so quickly, how disappointed would Shi Yuke be?
That would just show how incompetent she was!
Jian Yixin hadn't made any progress these past few days and was already feeling restless; getting a bellyful of anger from Shi Yuke made her features twist into a ferocious expression.
"Shi Yuke, help me one more time. After this is done, I will reward you handsomely."
Shi Yuke didn't fully believe her words and gave a disdainful "Hmph": "Stop trying to fool people. Last time you asked me to help, the plastic surgeon still hasn't been found for me. Sheng Yukai getting locked up was purely because you wanted revenge yourself; it has nothing to do with me!"
Jian Yixin stopped wasting words with her and said directly: "After it's done, all of Shi Youxuan's shares in Tianma will be yours. Do we have a deal?"
Silence.
Shi Yuke was thinking, and Jian Yixin continued: "I know you don't believe I have this ability, but don't forget that the other person in charge of Tianma is my younger brother, my own brother. Besides, when Shi Youxuan registered it, she used my name. It shouldn't be hard for me to take back what belongs to me, right?"
"Fine, what do you want me to do?" Shi Yuke no longer hesitated and agreed.
Two days later.
The weather was equally hot. Sheng Hanyu had gone to work, and Shi Youxuan was sprawled comfortably on the sofa, eating fruit and watching TV.
For the past two days, whenever Sheng Hanyu wasn't home, Jian Yixin would go out to the opposite side to enjoy family time with her parents, and Shi Youxuan was happy to be left in peace.
"Eldest Young Mistress, Eldest Miss Shi is here. Will you see her?" the housekeeper came over to report.
"She's here... No, tell her I'm not home!"
Nothing good ever came of Shi Yuke visiting; it was better to avoid trouble, and Shi Youxuan couldn't be bothered to deal with her.
"Yo, little sister, now that you've climbed onto a high branch, things are really different, aren't they? You don't want to acknowledge us poor relatives anymore? If I go back and tell Dad what you said, what do you think he'll think?" Shi Yuke had walked in on her own and happened to hear what she said.
The gauze on her face had been removed, but she was wearing a veil, her tone filled with indignation.
"You were the one who said last time that you never wanted to see me again. Did you forget so soon?" Shi Youxuan retorted, but she still had the servant squeeze some fresh fruit juice for her to drink.
Shi Yuke was full of self-justification: "Don't be so petty. I was just speaking out of anger as your older sister; is there any point in dwelling on it? I've come this time to congratulate you on your pregnancy. I hope you can give the Sheng Family a big, fat son; if your position is secure, I can benefit from it too."
As she spoke, she used her good hand to place the gift she had brought onto the coffee table: "This is Blood Bird's Nest I entrusted someone to buy from Indonesia. It's the best for nourishment. I couldn't bear to keep even a little bit for myself; I brought it all for you."
Would she really have such good intentions?
Shi Youxuan didn't believe it in her heart, but she still had someone take the bird's nest away, though she wouldn't be eating it.
Seeing her accept the bird's nest, Shi Yuke's words immediately became more frequent, mostly revolving around topics concerning Jian Yixin: "Little sister, I heard that the brother-in-law's ex-fiancée is back?"
"That woman wouldn't rekindle old flames with the brother-in-law, would she? Men are cats that can't resist stealing a bit of fish, especially when it comes to an old flame—they're kept right at the tip of their hearts..."
Shi Youxuan didn't like hearing this.
She interrupted her: "Why did you come here? To celebrate or to annoy me? Don't assume all men are like Sheng Yukai. My husband only loves me. Jian Yixin is already a closed chapter; the two of them are perfectly innocent. Don't go spouting nonsense and ruining people's reputations; she still has to get married in the future."
Shi Youxuan's confidence made her sneer.
"Pfft, your man is having a secret rendezvous with Jian Yixin in the villa across the way. You're the only one being kept in the dark like a fool."
"You should go back and tend to your injuries. In the future, watch your tongue; spouting nonsense and ruining your character isn't good for your wound recovery." Shi Youxuan stood up and issued an order to leave.
Shi Yuke stood up but didn't leave, saying with great certainty: "If you don't believe me, come over and see for yourself. When I came over, I saw them with my own eyes kissing under the villa window. If I'm lying, you can do whatever you want to me."
"Not going. Impossible."
Shi Youxuan wouldn't believe her ghost stories. She knew what her husband was like; it was impossible for him to cheat.
"Shi Youxuan, you're afraid to go, aren't you? Afraid that I'll discover your happiness is just a facade, that it's not real at all, afraid that I'll mock you, right..." She began to act unreasonably.
"Fine, let's go then." She stood up, ready to go to the opposite side, but she still kept her guard up.
To prevent Shi Yuke from setting an ambush on the way to harm her, she had the housekeeper accompany her and insisted that Shi Yuke walk in front.
Shi Yuke walked in front, and beneath her veil, her scarred face revealed a smile of a scheme successfully executed.
The housekeeper supported her and whispered as they walked: "You shouldn't have come on this trip; the Eldest Young Master is not that kind of person."
Shi Youxuan nodded: "I know. It's not that sunny yet, so I'll just treat it as a stroll, and it'll let her give up, won't it?"
The housekeeper agreed: "You're right, but still, be careful. This sister of yours has a very wicked heart."
Neither of them took what Shi Yuke said seriously. When they approached the villa, the two people were not kissing as Shi Yuke had claimed!
Let alone kissing, there wasn't even a shadow of a person.
Shi Yuke put her index finger to her lips to signal for them both to be quiet, then pointed upstairs and gently pushed the front door open to enter.
Shi Youxuan followed her in. As soon as she entered the door, she heard voices upstairs; it was Sheng Hanyu's voice.
"I am willing to take Jian Yixin as my wife, to be good to her for a lifetime, whether in wealth or poverty, sickness or health... never to abandon or forsake her, to care for her for all my life, to grow old together..."
Shi Youxuan's blood seemed to freeze. She stood frozen in place, unable to breathe or think; her mind went completely blank.
Sheng Hanyu's voice.
It couldn't be wrong!
The magnetic baritone was usually very pleasant to hear, but now it sounded incredibly grating to her ears, piercing her eardrums like ten thousand arrows through the heart.
Her heart hurt so much.
Shi Youxuan's heart ached so much she could barely breathe; her brain even hallucinated for a moment, feeling that all of this was unreal, that she was dreaming.
If only it were a dream. Her brain wanted to escape, but her heart was painfully clear.
Nightmares always have a time when you wake up, but if all of this were real, how was she supposed to face it?
