Chapter 33: Persistent Harassment
"I am not joking with you. Your sister is indeed alive. I was with her last night, but she ran away from me again."
Sheng Hanyu felt incredibly frustrated whenever he thought about this.
Connecting this to Yingzi's behavior that morning and combining it with what Sheng Hanyu said, it was not difficult to link the two together.
Jian Yining felt a sour, unpleasant sensation in his heart, and his attitude turned cold as a result: "If you're sick, go see a doctor. Don't talk nonsense here."
"You child, how are you talking?"
Lady Jian stepped forward and patted her son on the shoulder, telling him to apologize to Sheng Hanyu.
Although he was no longer their son-in-law, he still harbored deep affection for their daughter, even to the point of being obsessed enough to start talking nonsense. Lady Jian was moved.
Sheng Hanyu had already said the same thing to the couple just now. Jian Fu and his wife felt the same way as their son; they didn't believe it, but they also couldn't bear to expose him!
Jian Yining refused to apologize: "He is the one talking nonsense, I haven't done anything wrong, why should I apologize?"
"I was originally discussing serious business with a friend. You called me back from so far away in such a rush just for this nonsense? Boring."
He lifted his leg to walk upstairs, but Sheng Hanyu suddenly blocked his path: "Who were you with just now? What kind of old friend?"
Jian Yining was furious. He was usually smiling and joking, but that didn't mean he had a good temper. He shoved Sheng Hanyu hard: "Who I see is none of your business! What right do you have to interfere in my private life?"
"If you don't dare to say it, that means you have hidden Yixin. She doesn't want to see me, so you are helping her hide."
Sheng Hanyu had never been this "persistent" before. He clung to Jian Yining and wouldn't let go. No matter what the other party said, he stuck to one point: Jian Yixin is alive, hand her over!
He had the air of someone who would not stop until he reached his goal.
He was making such an unreasonable scene that even Jian Fu couldn't stand it anymore. He darkened his face: "My daughter has been dead for five years. Do you still want to disturb her soul even in death?"
"Uncle, Yixin is still alive. Please believe me."
Sheng Hanyu made an even more outrageous demand: "Open the coffin for an inspection. Jian Yining, if you won't hand Yixin over, then open the coffin and look. Yixin is definitely not inside."
"Get out! My daughter has already suffered enough because of your Sheng Family. Now that she is dead, you still won't let her go. Sheng Hanyu, you are bullying people too much..."
Jian Fu was uncontrollable and ordered the servants to throw Sheng Hanyu out!
It was raining outside, but Sheng Hanyu did not leave. He stood straight in the rain, waiting for the Jian Family parents to change their minds.
The rain grew heavier, the strong wind made the tree branches sway incessantly, and the sound of thunder "rumbling" approached from afar. The sky soon darkened, and with lightning and thunder, a heavy downpour was clearly about to begin.
Soon, bean-sized raindrops mixed with hail began to pelt down. Outside, the wind was howling, and the television station had already issued a typhoon warning, yet Sheng Hanyu still stood at the entrance, unmoved.
Lady Jian felt a bit unable to bear it and said to her husband: "Let him in. If something happens in such heavy wind and rain, what will we do?"
"He deserves it. Don't worry about him. If he wants to stand outside, then let him stand. Is he putting on a 'bitter flesh' act for us to see? Sheng Hanyu has miscalculated." Jian Fu wasn't still angry; he just knew that letting Sheng Hanyu in now would mean the Jian Family was compromising and agreeing to let him open the coffin.
Jian Yining didn't say a word the entire time. He probably already understood what was going on!
But he couldn't say it. If he did, his parents would definitely make him go and clarify things for Sheng Hanyu. However, he had already promised Yingzi he wouldn't betray her. Yet, looking at Sheng Hanyu standing in the wind and rain through the window, he felt very conflicted.
He was caught in a dilemma and felt very conflicted.
No one knows a son like his mother. Lady Jian accidentally saw her son looking full of worries, so she went over to ask: "Yining, do you know some inside story?"
"I don't know. What could I know? Don't follow him in questioning me just because he's acting crazy. I am your son, you have to believe me." Jian Yining denied everything.
Jian Fu also came to his senses: "Hanyu is not a person who talks nonsense. He keeps saying Yixin is still alive, so there must be evidence. Could it be that he recognized the wrong person?"
Even if Jian Yining didn't say anything, his parents were gradually getting closer to the truth. At this moment, a servant suddenly rushed in to report in a panic: "It's bad, sir, madam, the eldest young master of the Sheng Family has fainted at the door."
"Quick, quickly carry him in."
The servants scrambled to carry Sheng Hanyu into the living room. Jian Yining took out his own dry clothes for the servants to change him into, but they couldn't get the boiling hot ginger sugar water into his mouth!
He didn't wake up, his forehead was burning hot, and he kept talking nonsense in his mouth: "Yixin, don't go."
"Don't leave me behind!"
"Yixin, Yixin..."
Sheng Hanyu's high fever would not subside, so the Jian Family sent him to the hospital for an IV drip and notified the Sheng Family.
Bai Xue passed by the Study. The door to the Study was not closed tightly, and she accidentally heard the news that Sheng Hanyu had also been admitted to the hospital. She was very happy!
Her son had been beaten into the hospital by Sheng Hanyu, and she hadn't vented that pent-up anger yet. Now that she heard Sheng Hanyu had also been admitted to the hospital, she felt very relieved.
The conversation in the Study was still continuing. Curiosity kept her from leaving; instead, she stayed to continue eavesdropping.
Sheng Hanyu had fainted at the Jian Family's home.
Sheng Hanyu wanted to open Jian Yixin's coffin.
The Jian Family didn't agree, so Sheng Hanyu stood in the wind and rain to force them to agree, and then fainted himself...
After listening, Bai Xue reached a conclusion: Sheng Hanyu was crazy and mentally unstable.
She quietly left the house and went to the hospital to tell her son this "good news." Sheng Yukai's face was swollen like a pig's head, but upon hearing the crazy things Sheng Hanyu had done for a dead person, he still couldn't help but grin broadly.
Grinning a little wider made it ache and twitch.
He endured the pain and said to his mother: "Mom, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. We must use this chance to ruin Sheng Hanyu's reputation. Grandpa cares most about the Clan's reputation. If his reputation is ruined, it will cut off Grandpa's thought of letting him inherit the Sheng Family."
"Fine."
Bai Xue agreed, and then the mother and son spent the whole morning in the Hospital Ward discussing. By noon, they had come up with several plans and prepared to act separately.
Jian Yining hid in his room and chatted with Yingzi on QQ.
He told Yingzi everything that happened last night exactly as it was. After sending it, he also vaguely asked her if she was with Sheng Hanyu that night?
Yingzi admitted: Yes.
She didn't have the heart to tell the whole story, only saying that Sheng Hanyu found her Apartment and she ran out.
Jian Yining breathed a sigh of relief. He thought the problem wasn't big; as long as he explained to Sheng Hanyu that the woman wasn't Jian Yixin, it would be fine.
Of course, it would be better if Yingzi could go to the hospital and explain it herself, but she refused.
Jian Yining promised her that as long as she went to explain, he guaranteed Sheng Hanyu wouldn't call the police and wouldn't send her to Prison.
He had always thought that Yingzi didn't want to see Sheng Hanyu because she was a fugitive, which was why she didn't want to reveal her identity.
Yingzi asked him to give her one day to consider, to think about how to tell him about this matter, and after she finished speaking, she went offline, leaving Jian Yining staring at the computer screen in a daze for a long time.
Shi Youxuan curled up in the wardrobe to think.
Although she was the only person in the large Villa, the habits formed over many years still made her feel that hiding was the safest!
She did not want to see Sheng Hanyu, not even for a single meeting.
A man who had a legal marital relationship with her, and had also consummated that marriage, yet in his heart was thinking of another woman—why should she have to explain anything to him?
Let him suffer; it would be best if he felt miserable for his entire life.
