Chapter 48: The Shield Turns into a Pig Teammate

~8 min read 1,580 words

Shi Yuke was finally driven out by Achou. She was not someone who gave up easily; since Achou would not agree, she kept knocking on the door outside without end.

The door finally opened, and Achou appeared before her: "Let's go, I'll go with you."

"Really?"

She had agreed too suddenly, so suddenly that Shi Yuke found it hard to believe.

"Fake, if you don't want to, then forget it." Achou's face sank.

Although her face was written all over with displeasure, she had already changed her clothes.

"I want to, I want to, let's go."

Shi Yuke went to take Achou's arm, but was dodged.

"Hmph, what is there for an ugly monster to be proud of?" Shi Yuke curled her lips, but a moment later she put on a smiling face and chased after her: "Achou, walk slower, wait for me."

Sheng Hanyu Villa.

The two were stopped at the entrance by the housekeeper, Zhang Ma. The housekeeper looked guarded: "Is there something, Eldest Young Mistress Shi?"

This could not be blamed on her; it was mainly because she had been terrified by the trouble Shi Yucheng caused.

The housekeeper had an even worse impression of Shi Yuke than of Shi Yucheng. Her coming here definitely meant no good, but Achou from the villa across the street had also come along.

Shi Yuke's attitude was exceptionally good: "Housekeeper, we have urgent business with the Eldest Young Master."

She said "we," and the housekeeper naturally glanced at Achou.

She had seen this person before. Although she was extremely ugly, she was not annoying. If it hadn't been for her help at the villa across the street last time, Shi Yucheng would not have left so easily.

"Please come in."

The housekeeper let them wait in the living room for a while and went upstairs to report.

When Sheng Hanyu heard that Shi Yuke wanted to see him, he waved his hand: "I won't see her."

The housekeeper agreed: "Very well, I will have them leave now."

She turned and was about to leave when she was called back by Sheng Hanyu: "Them? Who else is there?"

"There is also Achou from the villa across the street."

Hearing that Achou had also come, Sheng Hanyu changed his mind: "You go down and tell them I will be there soon."

"Yes."

After the housekeeper went down, Sheng Hanyu rummaged through his drawer, took out the darkest pair of sunglasses, put them on, and only then went downstairs.

He did not know why, but he always felt that Achou's eyes seemed to be able to penetrate a person's heart and see what he was thinking.

Seeing Sheng Hanyu come down the stairs, Shi Yuke immediately stood up from the sofa and went to meet him, solicitously supporting his arm: "Walk slowly, watch the steps."

Sheng Hanyu shook her off without a change in expression: "What business do you have with me?"

Before Shi Yuke could speak, Achou interjected: "I'm not looking for you; it's she who insisted on me accompanying her."

Shi Yuke was furious. It hadn't been like this when she used to drag Jiang Siwei along.

Jiang Siwei was simple-minded, but at such moments she would always tacitly agree and protect her. Achou didn't look like she had many schemes either, so why did she just bluntly blurt out the truth?

She hurriedly tried to remedy the situation, following up on Achou's words: "It's like this, Hanyu, I wanted to ask if there is any news about Xuanxuan? She has been missing for so long, and the family is very worried."

Mentioning Shi Youxuan, a trace of guilt appeared on Sheng Hanyu's face, and he said in a low voice: "My people have been searching constantly. If there is any news, I will notify the Shi Family immediately."

Achou rolled her eyes in disdain: "In this much time, even an ant hill would have been turned over, yet you can't even find a fool. What kind of people did you send out? Did they graduate from kindergarten?"

Shi Yuke really wanted to plug her mouth.

Even if she wasn't going to help, she shouldn't undermine her. Every sentence was stabbing at the heart; who could stand it?

"Achou, shut up." After scolding her, Shi Yuke glared at her.

She turned to Sheng Hanyu and said: "I'm sorry, Hanyu, please don't take it to heart. What the servant says cannot represent my intentions..."

Achou: "What do you mean?"

"Didn't you say you came to get some of your sister's things as a keepsake? Hurry up and take them and leave. Is there any point in dawdling here and dragging out all this nonsense?"

Shi Yuke's face flushed red.

Her original plan was to bring Achou along, and if Sheng Hanyu didn't give her a good look, she would pull Achou to the front to block the wind and rain.

But what she didn't expect was that all the wind and rain were provided by Achou!

She had originally thought it out perfectly: if Sheng Hanyu's attitude was acceptable, she would find an opportunity for the two of them to be alone...

She believed that it wouldn't take more than two times for Sheng Hanyu to fall in love with her.

But all of this had a prerequisite; the prerequisite was that Sheng Hanyu had to have a good impression of her first. Achou always undermined her at the most critical moments, making Shi Yuke's teeth itch with hatred!

Sheng Hanyu said to the housekeeper: "Zhang Ma, you take her to the Eldest Young Mistress's room to get them."

If she let the housekeeper take her, how could she be alone with Sheng Hanyu?

Shi Yuke panicked and made a bad move: "Achou, you go along. I'll wait here; I'm afraid that seeing Xuanxuan's room will make me sad."

She thought her little schemes were invisible to others, but everyone knew clearly what she was thinking.

Achou sneered: "Do you really want your sister's things as a keepsake, or are you eyeing your brother-in-law?"

With her little schemes exposed time and again, Shi Yuke was too embarrassed to keep pestering Sheng Hanyu, no matter how thick-skinned she was. She first scolded Achou for talking nonsense and being biased against her, then followed the housekeeper upstairs to prove that she had indeed come to pick up things.

When they arrived at Shi Youxuan's room, she originally wanted to take two pieces of valuable jewelry to make up for her wounded heart, but the housekeeper looked at her as if she were a thief.

In the end, Shi Yuke only took a hairpin downstairs. The hairpin was not valuable, but she did it to leave a good impression on the housekeeper so it would be convenient to come over again next time.

In the living room.

As Shi Yuke went upstairs, Sheng Hanyu asked Achou, "How did Jian Yining get mixed up with her?"

"I don't know."

Achou was wearing a servant's uniform, yet she sat brazenly on the sofa with her legs crossed.

When speaking to him, she wouldn't even look him in the eye, not even sparing him a glance from the corner of her eye; she was incredibly arrogant!

Sheng Hanyu didn't care about these details and continued to ask, "Besides Shi Yuke, has any other woman been to the Villa recently?"

He still wanted to see Yingzi.

"No," Achou answered very bluntly.

So bluntly that there wasn't a hint of her lying.

Sheng Hanyu took two photos out of his pocket, pulled out the Hallucinogenic Pen to write his phone number on the back of the photos, and handed them over: "If the person in the photos comes to the Villa, call this number and tell me."

She took them and was startled after just one look.

The background of the first one was at the Ginza front desk; the face wasn't very clear, but one could still make out her features—a plain face paired with a hot body, exactly how she looked when disguised as Yingzi.

The second one was taken at the cocktail party when Jiang Siwei was provoking her!

They were all candid shots, and the problem was that she hadn't noticed at all.

"Who is this? I don't recognize her."

Achou denied it, but the flash of shock in her eyes still didn't escape Sheng Hanyu's notice.

He was certain that Achou must have seen Yingzi!

He placed a gold card into Achou's pocket: "A fee for your trouble, 500,000."

As Sheng Hanyu put the card into Achou's pocket, Shi Yuke happened to come down from upstairs and saw this scene.

Her heart skipped a beat, and she thought to herself, could Sheng Hanyu have taken a fancy to this ugly freak?

This thought lasted only an instant before she chased it from her mind; she was certain he wouldn't, for who would ignore a great beauty like herself to like an ugly freak?

"Achou, let's go back."

"Mm."

Achou didn't decline and calmly took the card, so Sheng Hanyu naturally assumed this meant she agreed to help him.

"Achou, what did my brother-in-law give you just now?" As the two walked on the road, Shi Yuke asked.

Achou: "That's none of your business."

Her tone was as abrasive as ever, but Shi Yuke didn't mind: "I saw the bank card he gave you." She had only seen the card, not the photos.

"Correct," Achou admitted.
