Chapter 1086: The Demons Fall for the Trick

At this moment, he gently raised his hand and pointed toward the location ahead.

All the demons instantly understood.

They began moving toward the position of Lord Chenxi's territory.

Watching the demons charge toward them, Li Yue's pupils contracted slightly.

But he showed no intention of stopping.

He simply shouted, "Everyone, quicken your pace."

With Li Yue's command, the remaining soldiers of Lord Chenxi's territory all hurried their steps.

Although the demons' movements were not slow, due to the distance, the Yishiban Society really made it difficult to catch up in such a short time.

Suddenly, the Demon God seemed to sense something and urgently shouted, "Everyone, stop."

As the Demon God's voice fell, all the demons ceased their actions and looked at the Demon God in confusion.

"My lord Demon God, why not pursue? Now is the best moment to kill these fellows!"

A demon soldier asked in confusion.

The Demon God's face grew gloomy; he did not speak, but simply pointed with his finger toward the position beyond the mountain.

Seeing the Demon God's demeanor, all the demon soldiers looked in the direction the Demon God indicated.

Upon seeing the situation there, each one was stunned.

There stood soldiers of Lord Chenxi's territory clad in armor, hiding.

"An ambush!?"

A demon soldier exclaimed.

The corner of the Demon God's mouth curled into a cold smile: "So that's how it is. First pretending to fail, luring us to advance, then setting an ambush."

At this moment, the Demon God slowly smiled.

"I must say, the lord of Lord Chenxi's territory, your little calculations are quite good!"

The Demon God spoke indifferently, his gaze sweeping around, examining the surrounding environment.

At this moment, his gaze fell upon the multitude of demons.

"Everyone, listen to the order: camp here and rest. Without my command, do not attack."

The Demon God spoke.

"As you command!"

All the demon soldiers answered in unison.

Li Yue's gaze turned to the rear, catching a glimpse of the demons' position.

Seeing the demons stop, he breathed a slight sigh of relief.

"Excellent. Fortunately, they were bluffing. If they had truly continued pursuing, I really wouldn't know what to do."

He secretly felt relieved in his heart.

In truth, the people hiding on the surrounding hillsides were not reinforcements at all, but an army formed of straw men and wooden figures.

It was simply the distance that made them indistinct.

Li Yue's action was, one must say, far too dangerous.

If he had been even slightly careless, he might have directly plunged himself into trouble.

He was gambling, betting that the Demon God was an absolutely rational and calm individual.

Clearly, seeing this scene, Li Yue had gambled correctly.

Because of too many thoughts, the Demon God abandoned the attack under these circumstances.

However, the time ahead would be the most troublesome.

These straw men and wooden figures could not maintain the intimidation for long; sooner or later, the demons would discover them.

However, his purpose was not to fight the demons to the death, but merely to delay time.

"Everyone, begin repairing the battlefield and wait for the demons' next attack. Also, send people to move those straw men and wooden figures every half hour. Remember to occasionally have soldiers expose themselves, giving the demons a false impression. If any demon scouts approach, kill them on sight upon discovery."

Li Yue issued the order.

"Yes."

After hearing Li Yue's order, the soldiers of Lord Chenxi's territory immediately began acting.

Their movements were extremely swift; within just a few minutes, they had moved all the straw men and wooden figures on the battlefield to safe positions. Meanwhile, the moving soldiers gave the demons the false impression that Li Yue had many people.

Time passed bit by bit, and night gradually arrived.

At this time, the Death Lord and others had also finished organizing.
