Chapter 26: I Possess a Sword, the Purple Lei Jian
The ride-share finally started up, carrying Fang Yu and the others toward their next destination.
But inside the bronze ancient coffin, it was pitch-black, which made everyone a little panicked.
Fang Yu reached out and moved his hand, and the flying-sword dharma artifact bestowed by the eldest young lady of the Fang family, Fang Qingxue, appeared; the purple thunder brought a sliver of light to this dark world.
Seeing this scene, many people revealed expressions of shock, and at the same time the purple thunder seemed to soothe everyone's emotions, keeping them from immediately breaking down.
"Brother Fang Yu, what's going on?"
Among those present, only Ye Fan had some friendship with Fang Yu; seeing his classmates all looking at him eagerly, Ye Fan spoke up.
"We should have embarked on a journey to another world; that Taiji-Bagua diagram opened the road of the starry sky."
Fang Yu gripped the flying-sword dharma artifact; he had given this dharma artifact treasure sword a name: Purple Lei Jian.
Holding the Purple Lei Jian, Fang Yu surveyed the scene inside the bronze coffin.
As for the other men and women, hearing Fang Yu's words, their state of mind collapsed once more.
"What, we're no longer at Taishan?"
"We've left Earth and gone somewhere else? I still have family, I still have parents; if I leave, what will become of them?"
"We've just stepped onto the road to another world? I don't want to, I just want to go back."
One stone stirred up a thousand ripples.
Fang Yu's words were unbearable for some of the men and women; they felt fear, confusion about the future, and no one knew where their next stop would actually be.
The crowd was in fear, in dread, but Fang Yu, using the light of the Purple Lei Jian, examined the carved diagrams inside the bronze coffin; on those carved diagrams there were ferocious nine-headed divine birds, and also enormous fierce beasts covered in foot-long stiff bristling fur.
The bronze carvings, mottled with rust, some of them were actually fierce beasts recorded in the Classic of Mountains and Seas, such as Taotie, Qiongqi, Taowu, and the like, with massive bodies, vivid and lifelike.
Of course there were also images of ancient ancestors and some primordial deities; besides these, there was also a stretch of starry sky, densely packed, seemingly a star map.
Fang Yu committed all of these to memory, thinking they might be useful in the future.
"Ah, what is that?"
Suddenly, someone, using the light from a phone they had brought, saw that inside the bronze coffin there was also a small bronze coffin, ancient and plain, dim, engraved with ancient patterns, covered in verdigris, filling people's hearts with dread.
What sort of figure could be buried in such a mysterious bronze ancient coffin? In the hearts of the crowd there was both suspicion and fear.
"Don't move, don't think, sit still in the middle, and quietly wait for the next stop."
Fang Yu spoke; he also knew what that small bronze coffin was, but he didn't need to act, only needed to wait for the arrival of the next stop.
"Alright."
"Daoist priest, you'll protect us, right?"
"The Daoist priest is here; even if something happens, we won't be afraid."
Some of the men and women, hearing Fang Yu's words, found their hearts involuntarily calming down; a few of them quietly sat down, waiting for the next stop.
