Chapter 622: Immortal!
"What?"
Inside the Kanlishen Sect, a minor conflict erupted.
Fang Yu defeated this young man from Liuling Peak without any effort.
He merely used the Great Slaughter Art from the Three Thousand Great Dao and the Grass Character Sword Art from the Perfect World, leaving the young man from Liuling Peak disfigured.
"Damn it! You dare injure me—through heaven and earth…"
The man flew into a rage and prepared to fight Fang Yu to the death.
At that moment, Yang Anru stepped forward, her entire aura exploding as she shielded Fang Yu: "Xie Liuyun, how bold of you to directly attack a genius I invited! I shall now test your skills."
As she spoke, a fire cauldron appeared in her hand—the upper-grade Dao Artifact, the Nine Fire Divine Cauldron.
"Anru sister, you'd summon your Nine Fire Divine Cauldron for this man? Hmph, I'll remember him. For your sake, I'll spare him for now—but there'll always be an opportunity. I'll have a proper chat with you later!"
Seeing Yang Anru's magic power surging and her upper-grade Dao Artifact unveiled, the young man from Liuling Peak, Xie Liuyun, darkened in expression, as if about to lash out—but he held back. He cast a cold glance at Fang Yu, then sneered, his body dissolving into a blade of light as he departed.
"Go pay respects to your Master. Your current cultivation base has passed the trial. Xie Liuyun is the chief disciple of Liuling Peak—he sneaked an attack on you and still got injured. Clearly, your strength rivals his. You're qualified to be a disciple."
Yang Anru looked at Fang Yu with unmistakable astonishment, as if she hadn't expected him to be this talented.
She felt she had stumbled upon a treasure.
The three headed deeper into the Kanlishen Sect, soon arriving at a mountain peak—this one was Shengjifeng.
Upon entering, Fang Yu sensed an overwhelming density of pure yang energy, hundreds of times denser than at the Shanmen, and with each breath, vast quantities of pure yang energy condensed into the form of pure yang pills.
This was unquestionably a paradise of cultivation, something Yuhua Sect had never possessed.
Fang Yu reflected that his own Yufeng had already been refined by his Great Five Elements Art, teeming with spiritual herbs and even several sentient trees, protected by a grand array that prevented the loss of Xu Yuan Qi—it could be called a paradise—but compared to Shengjifeng, it was vastly inferior.
At the very least, he had not yet reached the Longevity Secret Realm and could not draw pure yang immortal energy from the Immortal Realm. Just this one point made Shengjifeng far superior to his Yufeng.
As they admired the scenery of Shengjifeng, they pressed forward.
Along the way, they encountered many disciples of Shengjifeng, the weakest of whom were Golden Core ancient minor titans—ancient Golden Core minor titans were commonplace on Shengjifeng.
Beyond the Golden Core disciples, most were experts who had passed the Wind-Fire Great Tribulation at the 8th Stage of Divine Abilities or had formed the Heavenly Manifestation at the 9th Stage; there were even a few at the 10th Stage of Divine Abilities, though their cultivated abilities likely didn't match Yang Anru's, or else they wouldn't have immediately bowed upon seeing her.
"The total number of Golden Core disciples in an entire Xiandao Sect Sect from the Yellow Great World seems less than the number on a single peak of the Kanlishen Sect…"
Fang Yu felt the gap and pondered how he would bridge it upon returning to the Yellow Great World—he'd need countless pure yang immortal energies.
If he could obtain the treasure of a single Xiangu in the Yellow Great World, the entire Yuhua Sect could rise instantly.
As he contemplated these matters, they gradually reached the summit of Shengjifeng, where a grand hall stood. Instantly, Fang Yu and Fang Qingxue sensed that within this hall, a mighty titan was cultivating, exhaling and inhaling boundless pure yang immortal energy with every breath.
Suddenly, an immensely powerful will swept over them, as if probing their cultivation levels.
"Master, these two are the extraordinary geniuses I've brought to join Shengjifeng—please don't harm them."
Feeling the terrifying will descend, Yang Anru quickly spoke.
"Relax. I'm just checking their cultivation."
The will instantly retracted, its voice echoing through the air.
"Excellent, Anru. You've brought back two extraordinary geniuses who've cultivated numerous techniques and abilities—remarkable. I watched your duel with Xie Liuyun just now. You've brought honor to Shengjifeng. Very good. Take them in now and pay homage to my true form."
"Yes."
Yang Anru nodded.
Fang Yu inwardly shuddered—he was glad he had sent most of his belongings into the Ten Thousand Worlds Wang Tu, or else he might have faced serious trouble. The master of Shengjifeng's cultivation must have reached at least the 5th Stage of Creation in Longevity, and his presence was no weaker than Feng Feng Baiyu, the Zhang Sect of Yuhua Sect.
But he had prepared in advance: above his Heavenly Manifestation, he displayed not ninety-plus abilities, but only seventy-plus, concealing many Great Dao-level techniques.
Even so, this still exceeded the number of abilities cultivated by Yang Anru of Shengjifeng.
Yang Anru, the chief disciple of Shengjifeng, had cultivated only forty-two abilities—far fewer than his "seventy-plus."
The front gate swung open, and Fang Yu, Fang Qingxue, and Yang Anru entered the hall together.
Deep within the hall, radiant light filled the space, suffused with tranquil, harmonious energy. In a palace of crystal sat a throne, upon which rested a young girl.
The girl appeared only sixteen or seventeen, yet exuded an aura of stern authority, especially her eyes, which seemed to pierce straight into one's soul.
Vast quantities of pure yang energy emanated from her body. Though seated upon the throne, she constantly communicated with a great world, her mind linked to it.
"You two are quite impressive. Since you wish to become my disciples, from this day forward, you are disciples of Shengjifeng."
The girl-like being spoke. "I don't require oaths of loyalty—vows are useless. I don't demand unwavering devotion. All I ask is that you uphold the interests of Shengjifeng—and of the Kanlishen Sect. That's enough. Joining a sect is an exchange of benefits: you receive protection and resources, and in return, you contribute. Here is your Shengjifeng token. Take it. It contains three million contribution points, enough to exchange for some items. To earn more, you'll need to work hard."
As she spoke, the girl-like being waved her hand, sending two tokens flying—each landing in the hands of Fang Yu and Fang Qingxue.
"Good. From now on, you are Yang Anru's junior disciples. You may assist her with all matters of Shengjifeng."
The girl said. "I am in perpetual seclusion. Do not disturb me unless it's a matter of utmost importance. All affairs of Shengjifeng are under your full authority. Yang Anru, the rise or fall of Shengjifeng rests on your management. Do you understand? You are the chief disciple."
"Yes, Master. I will make Shengjifeng the number one among the three hundred and sixty-five peaks."
Yang Anru hurriedly replied, then turned her gaze to Fang Yu and Fang Qingxue. "Let's go outside. Don't disturb the Master's seclusion. There's much you can ask me."
"Understood."
In that brief moment, Fang Yu and Fang Qingxue had joined the Kanlishen Sect—the process was absurdly simple.
The girl-like being appeared to care for nothing but cultivation, but Fang Yu knew it wasn't that simple—she had accepted them as disciples not out of kindness, but because she recognized their strength and intended to use them as enforcers for Yang Anru.
Of course, he wasn't truly joining this sect—he was merely seeking advantages.
Now outside the hall, Fang Yu held the Shengjifeng token and felt that the pure yang immortal energy of the entire peak could now be absorbed by him more swiftly.
Especially within the token itself was a number: three million—"contribution points."
It bore a strong resemblance to the Black-White Academy of the Manghuang Ji world—when he had joined the Black-White Academy, he had received Black-White Points, which could be exchanged for many things.
He didn't yet know what could be exchanged for these three million contribution points.
At this moment, Fang Qingxue stood beside Fang Yu, also holding the Shengjifeng token, studying it intently, as if pondering something.
The two extraordinary geniuses from Yuhua Sect, gazing at the Shengjifeng token, both felt a sense of unreality.
