Chapter 190: The Second Level (Please Subscribe)
After being startled awake by a voice like a thunderclap from Aaron, those Wild Beyonders woke as if from a dream and scattered in all directions to flee.
The closer they had originally been to those major factions, hoping to rely on the other side's powerhouses to resist the curse, the more they regretted it now!
A large number of Extraordinary fled, some even going so far as to use Talismans, which immediately triggered a reaction from the mist on all sides; humanoid curses formed once again, throwing the scene into complete chaos.
As for Aaron and his two companions, they were positioned on the outermost perimeter and took advantage of this opportunity to easily escape the encirclement.
"Hehe... 'Sting Sword', your last few sentences were truly... truly wise."
Clark said with a chuckle.
Liliyat, however, retorted: "Old gentleman, you originally wanted to say 'vicious', right?"
"What is truly vicious is the arrangement made by the master of the Lingmu; I merely stated the facts..."
Fiona analyzed.
"Three more Offerings are needed!"
The Witch of the Moon gasped.
"It's not me!"
To Evil Domain believers, no guarantee is credible unless sworn by the deity they worship!
Yagebu, Fiona, and Kasuluo immediately looked toward the Witch of the Moon and Sasuluofei.
"It's not me either!"
A thought surfaced in Yagebu's mind, and he spoke up: "Agents of the Investigation Bureau must never be sacrificed; we are not an Evil Domain organization like yours that can use members as Offerings!"
Qikatiluo suddenly spoke.
"The gate leading to the second level of the Lingmu... has opened!"
Aaron led the two of them, taking a casual turn through the mist.
A black-robed figure fell to the ground, blood flowing toward the gate and being rapidly absorbed.
By now, near the gate, no minor characters dared to linger.
If the first level alone devoured so many lives, how terrifying must the second level of the Lingmu be?
"We have no choice left..."
"Hehe... I have a proposal."
Aaron wiped his face and replied without a hint of shame: "After those major factions observe, they should reach the same conclusion as I have... and if enough Wild Beyonders cannot be caught, what will happen?"
The Witch of the Moon and Sasuluofei exchanged a glance, seemingly tempted.
Qikatiluo snorted coldly: "The longer the delay, the more unfavorable it is for us... who knows what other changes the curse here has... If you cannot bear it, I can help you..."
He looked at the Witch of the Moon and Sasuluofei, then at the Philosopher Xisituosi beside him.
Qikatiluo growled: "I swear in the name of the deity I worship, I did not do it!"
Qikatiluo threw his head back and roared, rending the robes on his body to reveal a hideous and twisted Ghoul physique.
"But we cannot rule out that you possess some Magical Item!"
This true big shot of the kingdom had been in a state of 'Cognitive Tampering' ever since entering the Lingmu, and only the three giants of the Investigation Bureau could observe him.
"So... there still exists a second type of curse, specifically targeting those who remain motionless?" Sasuluofei realized with a start: "Damn Aaron Sotos... he really is a demon; has his manipulation of the human heart reached such a point?"
Yagebu growled, his hideous firearm aimed at Qikatiluo's head.
Snap!
His body disintegrated halfway, and streams of blood were swallowed by the gate.
His expression changed drastically as he watched this member grab his own neck with both hands and pull his head out along with his spine...
Yagebu had the most agents under his command, and he refused with a firm tone at this moment.
Sipeite also let out a long breath.
Although it was dim all around, that dark red mist was gone!
"We clearly remained motionless..."
Just then, within the Investigation Bureau, a capable agent who had been standing still like a statue suddenly began to run rapidly, charging toward the blood-red gate leading to the underground.
"You should know my Extraordinary Ability has nothing to do with mind control!" Sasuluofei also did not want to become a target of the Investigation Bureau and explained.
"But no one can guarantee there isn't a third type of curse specifically targeting this situation..." Kasuluo shrugged his shoulders.
Sipeite grabbed the other person's shoulder but felt as if he were grabbing a block of ice.
The next moment, he heard an exclamation from afar.
"One cannot remain motionless, nor can one engage in strenuous exercise... maintaining a state of slow movement might be the key to resisting the first level's curse."
"Finally, I can use my Extraordinary Ability to my heart's content."
When he came to his senses, Yagebu found himself standing at the edge of a burial pit.
Bang!
The headless corpse fell to the ground, and another wave of blood converged toward the gate.
The Witch of the Moon said calmly.
Liliyat, however, had a look of reluctance on her face.
"Ah!"
Immediately, a stream of blood flowed over and converged around the viscous, Scarlet gate.
Beside him, figures flashed one after another.
Then, not far from them, several Investigation Bureau agents walked slowly and with difficulty, chasing toward another direction...
"I object."
"Is this the second level of the Lingmu?"
"What we must do now is wait, wait for the first door to open."
"Stop!"
Fiona looked around: "The curse... seems to have vanished!"
Visible to the naked eye, the two door leaves opened a little more, and a passageway could be vaguely seen.
A sense of weightlessness and Darkness arrived simultaneously.
"The Philosopher does not seem willing to show himself right now... Is he guarding against something?"
Clark was no saint either; hearing this, he immediately laughed.
"Qikatiluo!"
The third victim!
After absorbing this one's blood, those two door leaves finally swung open with a boom, revealing a downward passageway.
Before the door leaves wrapped in Scarlet, viscous blood.
Qikatiluo observed the Scarlet door leaves and reached a conclusion.
Sipeite gazed at that great door, feeling a sense of dread.
"That is truly worth looking forward to..."
The second victim!
"It wasn't us..." Yagebu looked toward Qikatiluo, whose aura had become extremely dangerous, and suddenly sighed: "I understand... this is the curse of the Lingmu!"
"Finally... finally..."
"Hmph... boring hypocrisy!"
Glancing at Xisituosi and discovering that this "Philosopher" did not object, he was the first to step forward and enter the passageway.
Yagebu sighed; with no way to retreat, they had no choice but to move forward.
Just as Kasuluo spoke, the last member of the Lotus Eater Society, besides Qikatiluo and Sipeite, had their eyes instantly lose focus and ran toward the Scarlet door leaves.
On the first level, he and Qikatiluo had been incredibly stifled; after their Extraordinary Ability of 'Red' and 'Darkness' were sealed, they had almost only been able to rely on their physical bodies to withstand those Cuzhou Renxing!
"Damn Lingmu, damn Aaron Sotos!!!"
