Chapter 523: The Triple Barrier (Seeking Monthly Votes)
Inside the ruins of a building somewhere.
Aaron looked at the characteristic gifted by his giant whale friend, his expression complex and unreadable, but in the end, he tossed it into his mouth and swallowed it in one gulp.
As the Spirituality he had accumulated on the path of the 'Crowned One' grew increasingly dense, by this time, devouring a portion of the Seventh Primordial Substance's characteristic only caused his pupils to change color slightly, and there were no other abnormalities.
"Thank you!"
Aaron said thanks to the air, then immediately closed his eyes and began Meditation.
Time passed, he knew not how long, and he opened his eyes again; the purple hue in his pupils was even more brilliant and pure: "It is time!"
By devouring the seven 'Immortal' characteristics of the 'Son of Dawn' clones, combined with what he had obtained from hunting, his accumulation of Spirituality had advanced by leaps and bounds.
Finally, Aaron arrived at the opposite bank of the Crimson Long River and saw a divine tower that seemed to be painted with countless pigments, a tower that could not be described in words!
The Tower of Babel!
The Spirit World originally had no concept of height; it was this that defined the height of the Spirit World!
That flicker of flame was like a reef standing amidst the waves; no matter how the tide of Spirit Bodies crashed against it, it remained standing firm, burning even more fiercely!
A terrifying majesty surged over, but to him, it was nothing more than a breeze brushing his face.
Among the jungles, a large number of lost spirits wandered.
On both sides of those steps, various statues and guards stood erect.
Aaron announced in a solemn voice: "I am the 'Crowned One'! The Spirit World also crowns me! I have the right to obtain Glory equal to that of the Sovereigns!"
"In other histories, I would need to face more than one Sovereign, but in this layer of history, there is only one variable!"
He walked upon the roaring crimson flow, yet the surging Scarlet Long River could not push him back even a fraction!
At the bottom of the river, one drowned soul after another stretched out pale palms, wanting to grab Aaron's ankles and drag him into the riverbed.
Then, a second, a third...
The ground melted and then solidified, revealing a glass-like texture.
"Since the 'Rancher' has already gone mad, they might not care about the appearance of a mere Worldly Immortal!"
Moreover, these guards had already merged with the Tower of Babel and were a part of this Spirit World wonder!
Any Extraordinary of the Sixth Primordial Substance with even the slightest flaw or regret would be washed away by the Crimson Long River, leaving only their corpses to forever accept the pain of cyclical drowning in the great river!
"I am the 'Perfect Person', I have no flaws whatsoever!"
"The moment you step onto the Tower of Babel, you will be dismembered by us, and your Spirit Body will suffer ten thousand years of torment!"
They were ethereal in form with blank expressions, but the moment Aaron appeared, all those soulless pupils looked toward him.
High-concentration Spirit World Ether gathered and manifested above his head, transforming into a dazzling crown!
When they saw Aaron arrive before the first step, all the statues emitted a resonant voice: "This is the Tower of God; mortals cannot ascend, only Sovereigns may climb!"
"Blasphemer!"
Clang! Clang!
The great sword capable of destroying Immortality reached the surface of the crown, only to be blocked by an invisible membrane, unable to advance even a fraction further.
Aaron, wearing the crown of the Spirit World, continued upward level by level.
The two humanoid statues leaning on their great swords raised them high and struck down fiercely.
His footsteps landed steadily on the river surface, as if stepping on solid ground!
"I walk upon the river as if walking upon the earth!"
The two statues retracted their long swords and knelt respectfully on both sides...
Aaron's expression was solemn, and following the guidance of his spiritual intuition, he took a step forward!
The world changed instantly!
"Regardless, this is the best opportunity!"
'Burn everything in the world that can be burned! All spirits... shall become succulent fuel!'
—The 'Gate of Longevity'!
The 'Gate of Longevity' that originally existed only in concept, but was materialized by the joint efforts of the Sovereigns!
A smile appeared on Aaron's face; he was about to step into the void and push open the true 'Gate of Longevity'...
Ordinary 'Immortals' only need to obtain the permission of the Sovereigns to imprint upon the 'Gate of Longevity'.
Aaron looked at this scene, a hint of a smile rising on his face, and he lifted his foot to step onto the river.
Wearing the spiritual crown that existed between the tangible and the intangible, Aaron stepped onto the first step of the Tower of Babel.
Aaron's figure slowly emerged.
Finally, Aaron arrived at the top of the Tower of Babel and saw a huge, bright, pure white, flawless circle—tangible yet intangible—as if composed of pure radiance!
This door seemed to encompass all Secrecy, yet it blocked all sight from below; every curve interpreted the meaning of 'perfection'...
Aaron knew that what They said was true.
The guards along the way either retreated directly or, after attempting to stop him and discovering they could not, issued curses filled with resentment and jealousy.
Even with Aaron's tempered mind, he could not help but feel a trace of excitement.
But a perfect halo of Light constantly shrouded Aaron, causing those countless palms to return empty-handed.
A ruined, decaying Spirit World!
Pure white 'Furnace Fire' erupted, and an illusory Spirit Body was burned directly in mid-air by the flames, dissipating into a wisp of green smoke.
These were the Spirit Bodies of those who failed to impact the 'Gate of Longevity'; they roamed the Pale Forest and became the first trial for those who came after!
But those spirits, as if they knew no fear, turned into a pure white tide, wanting to extinguish the 'Furnace Fire'!
Aaron did not stop his pace, weaving through the jungle, letting one Spirit Body after another throw themselves like moths to a flame into the fire surrounding his body.
Walking along this crystal path, Aaron passed through the Pale Forest and arrived at the side of a constantly flowing Crimson Long River.
Aaron recited the incantation in his heart, and the "Furnace Fire" erupted violently, burning a path through the jungle.
Roar!
Appearing before him was a pale forest, where various tree forms beyond human understanding and imagination converged.
By this time, it was already on the verge of the Node for Ascension!
The river roared; that Scarlet river seemed capable of washing away all tangible and intangible things in the Mortal World, and at the bottom of the river were countless twisted Shadows, like corpses accumulated over vast stretches of time!
Even true "Immortals," or even "Ascendants" and "Imprinters," if not recognized by Babel Tower, would only meet death upon ascending it!
His expression was calm, and his right hand gently brushed the top of his head, as if touching a crown.
Seventh Primordial Substance—【Changsheng】!
Philosopher's Stone!
"Life Scientist"!
This had been Aaron's pursuit all along; after all, life is short!
And at this moment, Changsheng was right before his eyes!
But none of this could stop Aaron from moving forward and upward...
And the trials Aaron endured were a thousand times greater than theirs!
Regarding this, he was utterly fearless and walked into the jungle.
Among them were gargoyles, humans wearing armor, and various complex and twisted Mythical Creatures of the Spirit World.
The expressions of the illusory "Spirits" suddenly became ferocious and filled with Greed as they lunged at Aaron.
Aaron continued to take his second step, his third step...
Just at this moment, a sudden change occurred!
Layers upon layers of sludge suddenly appeared, wrapping around the entire Babel Tower like a mass of rotting swamp, from which countless foul-smelling bubbles emerged.
From within the black mud, a large number of "Primordial Worms" above the Seventh Primordial Substance surged out frantically and lunged at Aaron!
"Rancher"!!
