Chapter 86: Delivering Goods
The next day.
Aaron stood on the balcony, bathing in the radiance.
Silently reciting the incantation of the "Radiance Method," he suddenly felt a bit more "Luminary" Spirituality being generated.
For a brief moment, his pupils turned pure white.
"I... see the light!"
Aaron murmured; the full Spirituality within his body told him he had reached a certain limit and could attempt to advance into a true Extraordinary.
He returned to the main hall to prepare for breakfast when he suddenly heard the doorbell ring.
Calculating the time, it should be the maid Sylvia arriving.
Aaron opened the door and, as expected, saw Sylvia dressed up.
"Mr. Yugesi, are there any chores?"
Sylvia bowed, her eyes glancing toward the living room.
"Leave those things for now, come with me!"
Aaron walked toward the basement.
Sylvia's hand tightened, and she immediately thought of the encounters her maid friends had spoken of.
As a vulnerable group, being sexually harassed by male employers was a very common occurrence, and often, in order to keep their jobs, they were unable to resist.
Some maids were even more miserable, becoming pregnant as a result, and then being dismissed by the mistress of the house.
'If Mr. Yugesi wants that, I, I...'
Although Sylvia was terrified in her heart, her body followed honestly, arriving at the basement, and then her lips parted slightly.
Candles were lit in the dim basement, and there was a strange Ritual Array on the floor.
"Stand in the center of the ritual; you are tainted with something ominous, and I will banish it for you..."
Aaron said: "This is also our agreement."
"Okay."
Sylvia felt a bit of trepidation, feeling that this employer seemed to have some strange role-playing fetish, but she still obediently entered the center of the ritual.
Not knowing if it was an illusion, she felt as if she had broken through a thin membrane and was isolated from the outside world.
"The radiance shines upon us..."
Aaron grabbed a handful of salt and sprinkled it into the ritual circle.
'The Ritual Array and props are actually not very important; what is most important for driving the ritual is Spirituality!'
'And "Luminary" is a symbol of radiance and creation; the "radiance" within it represents the authority of Purification.'
'So, I suppose this counts as being professionally qualified.'
Aaron calmly watched Sylvia in the center of the ritual, and then saw black air currents emerging bit by bit from her body.
It was like an earthworm, stubbornly drilling in and out of Sylvia's body.
'As expected... it was just tainted with a bit of the aura of a Spirit Soul, very faint...'
Aaron nodded to himself and snapped his fingers.
Snap!
The candlelight flared up violently, turning into white light in Aaron's eyes, enveloping Sylvia.
The black air currents on Sylvia's body vanished instantly.
And she herself gave a start, feeling her body become a little lighter.
"Alright, come out!"
Aaron let Sylvia walk out of the ritual area: "The bad luck on you has been purified, but I do not want you to talk about the details of the ritual to others, understand?"
"I understand, Young Master!"
Sylvia nodded hurriedly: "I promise I won't tell anyone!"
"Very good."
A smile appeared on Aaron's face, and a bit of Spirituality flowed away.
At his feet, another ritual representing "Secrecy" was activated; it could ensure that Sylvia would not go out and talk nonsense.
This ritual required the verbal guarantee of the person being kept secret, and the consumption was not high.
'As long as the detailed process is not leaked, even if that manager talks about it with a big mouth, others will at most think I am an Occultism enthusiast interested in studying Sylvia's bad luck... besides, the other party might not necessarily talk about it... leaking customer privacy affects business reputation!'
Aaron returned to the living room: "In the future, you will be responsible for cooking food, washing clothes, and cleaning the rooms... by the way, who was the employer you were originally rumored to have brought bad luck to?"
"It was Mr. Benjamin."
Sylvia answered in a low voice.
"Benjamin?" Aaron memorized it to himself, preparing to inquire about it later, and then took out the business card of Clark Das: "The first thing you need to do today is go to the address above, explain my intention to visit to the other party's butler or servant, and arrange a time."
This was the etiquette at the time; visiting directly was considered a great discourtesy.
To visit or invite someone, one must first have a servant go over to communicate, and then both parties agree on a time and place.
In Aaron's view, it was extremely trivial and troublesome.
When Sylvia went out, he also changed into a set of clothes, looking more like someone from the lower-middle class, wearing a gray flat cap, and slipped out the back door.
"Time to find a black market and buy a firearm or something..."
"Hmm, that pawn shop from last time should have some connections..."
Walking on the street this time was a different experience.
There were no rented carriages stopping to ask if he needed service, no smiling faces to be seen everywhere, only wary gazes, as if they were worried he would steal their wallets...
Aaron walked a few streets, returned to the block where the pawn shop was located, and then discovered he was being followed.
"Really... a persistent Spirit Soul!"
Aaron shook his head and took the initiative to walk toward those people.
"Kid, you were very arrogant before, daring to rob my, Bamian's, people. Can you finally not hide anymore?"
A gang leader came to Aaron's side, cursing and swearing, and revealed the firearm in his bosom: "Two choices: either come with me, or die here!"
"I will go with you!"
Aaron looked at the big men surrounding him from the left and right and nodded.
"You really know how to hide; we have been looking for you for a long time."
While walking, Bamian complained.
After his underlings were robbed last time, they had been searching for Aaron, but they were misled by the laborer's uniform he wore and found nothing in the Lower City District and the slums.
The upper-class neighborhoods and the slums in the big city of Invis were like two different worlds, never having any intersection.
But today, they finally waited for their enemy.
Aaron expressed that he was very innocent and followed them to a warehouse in the dock area.
"Boss, it's him!"
"It's him!"
Several big men inside, still wrapped in bandages and plaster, turned red-eyed when they saw Aaron.
"Rest assured, there will be a time for you to vent your anger."
Bamian pressed his knuckles, and his joints made a cracking sound: "Aren't you very good at fighting? Now sign this contract and become my boxer, otherwise you will become a corpse in the sewer... Don't think about playing tricks, that won't have the slightest effect!"
"I refuse!"
Aaron shook his head.
Bamian gave a grim smile: "It seems this little gentleman's brain is not quite clear yet. You lot, give him a good reception!"
"Your gun is not bad; now it belongs to me."
Aaron said earnestly.
Even if the opponent pointed a gun at him, he could use the Spirituality of 'Light' to create a flash and make the gunman lose his vision.
Yet this gang leader seemed to have him figured out, not even drawing his gun, which was simply ridiculous.
Slap! Slap!
His hands were like a Shadow, throwing the two big men beside him away.
Bamian just wanted to draw his gun when his fingers suddenly felt intense pain, as if they were broken, and he fell to the ground screaming.
Then, he saw that man holding his Zoulun, skillfully opening it, pouring out the bullets one by one, and reloading them.
"Nice bluing process..."
Aaron nodded and pointed the muzzle at these gang members: "Robbery... hand over all the money on you!"
He happened to be a bit short of money recently.
Those few big men wrapped in bandages were practically on the verge of tears, feeling that the scene before them was so familiar...
