Chapter 101: Leonard and His Grandfather (Please Vote for the Monthly Ticket!!!)

~9 min read 1,693 words

After leaving the captain's cabin of Jade Liyia, Lei Kedun went to Fu Lan Ke's laboratory and found Tu Ba Ge and Pa Si eating fruit and dried fish.

"Boss, why are you here? Are you going to look for a fight again?"

Tu Ba Ge saw Lei Kedun walk in, didn't even shift his rear, and, lazily gnawing on fruit, said.

Lei Kedun looked at the cat‑like rabbit with a hint of helplessness.

"We shouldn't have let it stay with that rogue cat Pa Si all the time," he thought silently.

Lei Kedun took a deep breath, restrained the urge to kick the plump rabbit, and said:

"I'm here to say goodbye to Fu Lan Ke; we're about to leave the Future."

"Leaving the Future?" Fu Lan Ke repeated, surprised.

"Yes, I have a new mission and can't stay at sea for now; the experiment part may still need your help. I'll leave a messenger spell; if any issues arise, you can contact me through the messenger at any time."

Lei Kedun finished speaking in one breath.

Fu Lan Ke nodded:

"No problem; we already have a result here."

While speaking, Fu Lan Ke rummaged through the lab, pulled out a pile of mushrooms, packed them into several burlap sacks, and handed them to Lei Kedun.

"Here! These are the mushrooms improved per your suggestion; their biggest advantage is rapid reproduction, and I also specially made a few fruit and sea‑fish flavors based on Pa Si's and Tu Ba Ge's input."

Fu Lan Ke said proudly, then explained the mushrooms' details:

"These mushrooms I simply gave a bit more flavor; fundamentally they're still ordinary mushrooms."

"However, their rapid growth requires certain nutrition and humidity; they can't be cultivated everywhere, and long‑term planting can cause some environmental damage."

"This cannot be avoided without the influence of extraordinary power."

Lei Kedun nodded and took the mushrooms Fu Lan Ke handed over:

"Alright, I understand; that's already good. After leaving the Future, I'll contact the Great Earth Church and clarify that these mushrooms were optimized by you."

Finally, he added:

"I think the people of the Great Earth Church will look at you differently, though their opinions don't matter; perhaps the Great Earth Mother Goddess might also cast an appreciative glance your way!"

"Praise the Mother Goddess!" Fu Lan Ke said in a devout tone, praising the goddess.

Lei Kedun nodded without replying; his position wasn't suitable for praising the Mother Goddess.

Especially since a Wise Angel of the Knowledge Church could glance at him at any moment.

Lei Kedun turned his gaze toward Pa Si, who was watching him:

"Do you want to leave with me?"

"No, I want to be a pirate, meow!"

Unsurprisingly, Pa Si rejected Lei Kedun's proposal; he had long realized the house cat had turned into a wild cat.

"Hmm, but later I'll tell Yi Li Sha's brother about your pirate activities on the Future."

During his stay on the Future, Lei Kedun never mentioned encountering Pa Si in his correspondence with Ya Si.

"Meow~"

Pa Si shook his head and meowed, like an ordinary black cat that doesn't understand human speech.

"Stop just eating dried fish; you still haven't paid the captain for the Sequence Eight potion material! Beware of working a lifetime on the ship without wages or dried fish."

Lei Kedun warned the rogue black cat.

He then carried the sack of mushrooms Fu Lan Ke gave, returned with Pa Si to his room, packed his belongings, and using telepathic magic linked to the deep library of the Spirit Realm, placed everything into the library.

"All set, the matter's settled; we should set off for the next place."

Lei Kedun packed the remaining items into a leather suitcase, and Tu Ba Ge hopped onto his shoulder and perched.

A pale blue glow covered Lei Kedun's eyes, and then his body, together with the Tu Ba Ge on his shoulder, became transparent and vanished on the spot.

"Wait, meow!" Pa Si rushed over.

He missed and slammed into the wall panel of the room.

"Leave the little bed for me! I don't want to sleep on a plank! Meow~"

Pa Si's voice sounded mournful, but the room was already empty.

After six or seven consecutive Spirit Realm transits, Lei Kedun finally arrived in the Luen Realm, holding Tu Ba Ge's toy staff, and used the Divination Staff Method to divine a path.

Finally, after three Spirit Realm transits, Lei Kedun and Tu Ba Ge successfully reached Tinggen City.

"I don't know which point the story has reached now; I don't recall the timeline details," Lei Kedun thought.

He casually found a passable inn in the city and booked a room.

Following the principle of seeking the Hidden Sage when in trouble, Lei Kedun dropped his suitcase in the room and began praying to the Hidden Sage:

"Sage who perceives the world, eyes that probe truth, embodiment of endless knowledge and spirit numbers!"

"I beseech you for a prophecy: where should the next events unfold?"

The Hidden Sage responded quickly; an image of a small town flashed in Lei Kedun's mind. However, Lei Kedun couldn't identify the place, but the reliable Hidden Sage gave a clue: "Morse Town."

"Morse Town?" Lei Kedun thought for a while before recalling what storyline this was.

"The Divine Blood of the Eternal Blazing Sun! Though I'm not sure if ascending to Mystic Scholar requires a ceremony, obtaining it is definitely worthwhile."

Lei Kedun quickly decided what to do next.

He would retrieve the Eternal Blazing Sun Divine Blood from that sealed object, and, if appropriate, get to know the current Ke Lai En.

"Wait here; I'll step out for a moment."

Lei Kedun said to Tu Ba Ge, who was perched nearby, a bit dizzy from Spirit Realm transits.

Like a car‑sick rabbit, Tu Ba Ge swayed his paws weakly and fell silent.

Seeing this, Lei Kedun ignored the dizzy rabbit, tossed Tu Ba Ge's toy staff, and used Spirit Realm transit toward the direction indicated by the staff's tip.

Lei Kedun transited to Morse Town; appearing in a remote part of the town, his complexion turned pale and looked terrible.

"Damn! My spirituality consumption was too high; I almost fell into an unknown place."

Lei Kedun, feeling dizzy and disoriented, fell out of the spirit realm.

By analyzing and mimicking the spirit realm transit, the spirituality consumed is far higher than that of a traveler.

Lei Kedun meditated and rested on the spot, recovering some spirituality before moving.

Walking through the small town and observing his surroundings, Lei Kedun sensed a fluctuation of Solar Domain power not far away.

"Lucky, huh? Just arrived and already ran into it?" Lei Kedun whispered, surprised.

He then approached the direction where Solar Domain power erupted, and saw Ke Lai'en standing outside Mo'ersi Church; under his gaze, they seemed to react and looked this way.

Lei Kedun had no choice but to use spirit realm transit again, appearing directly inside Mo'ersi Church.

"Huh?" Ke Lai'en withdrew their gaze, puzzled.

He felt as if someone had just glanced at him, but there was nothing there.

"Was it the pressure from creating the Sunflare Talisman just now?"

Ke Lai'en whispered a line and no longer paid attention to the situation here.

Lei Kedun, now inside Mo'ersi Church, immediately took out a scroll.

"Secrecy," he whispered in Dragon Language; the scroll ignited automatically, releasing a secret power that sealed off the interior of the church.

"Who are you!"

A young man with jet‑black short hair, emerald eyes, handsome and dashing yet slightly unkempt, spoke warily.

He made a draw‑gun defensive motion, but suddenly halted, as if someone had told him the opponent was far stronger.

"Shh! Keep it down, I mean no harm."

Lei Kedun pressed his right index finger lightly to his lips and said.

But the nervous Lun Na De across from him clearly didn't believe, taking a hesitant step back. Lei Kedun felt helpless, as if he now resembled a perverted villain.

"Hello, old man, how about we make a deal!"

Lei Kedun offered no further explanation and spoke directly to Lun Na De.

"Old man?"

Lun Na De suspected the guy opposite him was a mid‑rank lunatic on the brink of losing control.

Lei Kedun realized Pa Lie Si was ignoring him entirely, and when he spoke again added more information:

"Pa Lie Si Suo Luo Ya Si De, as an angel of the Thief's Path, you should be able to sense what I carry. Let's chat! It's just a small trade; you surely won't refuse."

"Angel?"

Lun Na De's emerald eyes were filled with disbelief and shock.

"I refuse! The angel on you is at most a Rank Two angel; this is the Night Church."

Lun Na De spoke again, his voice now noticeably aged.

Seeing Pa Lie Si finally respond, Lei Kedun breathed a sigh of relief; as long as they're willing to talk, it's easy.

"You misunderstood me; I was referring to the Keeper of Knowledge title and the Earth Mother's blessing upon me, which should prove I bear no ill will toward you!"

Lei Kedun offered an explanation.

"Ha! This is Lu En, not Fei Nei Bo Te, nor Lun Bao!"

Pa Lie Si replied disdainfully.

"That's why I'm even less likely to do anything here!"

Lei Kedun waved his hand, helpless, as Pa Lie Si's vigilance toward him was too great.

"I'll start with my bargaining chip! I know the location of a demigod on the Thief's Path; it's severely wounded and can only parasitize a mouse to survive."

Lei Kedun first stated his conditions, then added:

"You needn't worry about any issue with this information; I can swear in the name of the God of Knowledge that the demigod parasitizing the mouse is a descendant of the Jacob family. It also nurtured a thief with no common sense; I think it could serve as a supplement for you to regain strength!"

Pa Lie Si fell silent, and the Night Church fell instantly into hushed silence.
