Chapter 150: Private Rabbit Custom

~9 min read 1,752 words

The trading segment ended, and during the following free exchange segment, the Hanged Man was the first to start sharing information:

"A new pirate general has appeared at sea; she has subjugated the fleet of Storm General Qi Lingges."

"Her?" Miss Justice Audrey, noting the Hanged Man's wording, said with great interest.

The Hanged Man A'erjie nodded slowly and said:

"She was previously a famous pirate, the diseased maiden Tracy; have you heard of her?"

"No, I don't know much about this area."

Miss Justice Audrey shook her head honestly.

Aside from the Hanged Man A'erjie, who roams the sea, only Lei Keton, who once spent time at sea, had any knowledge on the matter.

The scene fell silent for two seconds; A'erjie did not waste time explaining and continued:

"Last month she subjugated Qi Lingges's fleet, renamed the ships 'Black Death', and called herself the 'Diseased General'."

"She excels at curses, black flames, and frost abilities; those who oppose her invariably contract various diseases. No one knows which sequence she belongs to, but it is certain her power is at Sequence Five level."

"Witch Path: this Diseased General should be a Sequence Five Pain Witch."

Amid the crowd's surprised or enlightened gazes, Lei Keton continued describing the traits of pain:

"Witches of this sequence possess active enchantment abilities, even causing enemies to abandon resistance to approach them. Prolonged interaction, repeated enchantments, can embed affection for the target deep into their bones."

"They excel at destroying beauty and harvesting pain; this is both a role requirement and, um, a certain psychological distortion that occurs when a man becomes a woman."

Miss Justice Audrey's lips part in surprise, wanting to say something but not knowing where to start.

The Hanged Man first nodded slightly, then after a brief pause said:

"It is said that after the fleet of Qi Lingges was taken by this Diseased General, it indeed became very loyal, more so than when it served under Qi Lingges himself."

Under Ke Lai En's control, Mr. World also spoke:

"Witches always accompany disaster and chaos."

Thump— thump—

The sound of knocking on the bronze long table came, and everyone turned again to look at the foremost Mr. Fool.

Ke Lai En let out a slightly contemptuous chuckle, then said:

"This is their proximity to the Primeval influence."

"Primeval?" Miss Justice and the Hanged Man both exclaimed in surprise.

The word 'Primeval' carries a different meaning.

But the Mr. Fool shrouded in gray mist gave no further explanation, leaving Audrey unsure whether to speak.

Lei Keton shook his head slightly; Ke Lai En, directing himself, did not finish, likely only knowing this much, perhaps gleaned through spirit communication with that witch.

Suppressing the fluttering thoughts, Ke Lai En could constantly observe everyone's state here; he did not want to reveal that he was distracted during such a serious topic.

Lei Keton raised his hand slightly, gave a light cough to attract attention, and said:

"Cough! I can answer some of your doubts."

"The Primeval mentioned by Mr. Fool should refer to Sequence 0 of the Witch Path, the Primeval Witch, also called the Chaos Witch."

Without giving others a chance to ask what Sequence 0 is, he continued:

"In the Demon Medicine System, within the same path, higher sequences naturally suppress lower ones; as the sequence rises, this effect becomes more pronounced."

"Beyond Sequence 0, one has absolute control over the entire path; all extraordinary beings who walk this path inevitably gravitate toward them."

While everyone was stunned beyond words, Ke Lai En, shrouded in gray mist, was the first to react, having understood many things.

Why does the Acting Method exist, why does Russell describe the Acting Method as stealing power from the Demon Medicine, why have major churches for millennia only mastered one or two paths, and only one path is fully mastered.

Then Ke Lai En, his body slightly leaning back in the gray mist, laughed lightly and said:

"Ha! This is the origin of the Acting Method."

"This is the origin of the Acting Method?" Miss Justice Audrey was momentarily stunned, then began to let her thoughts wander.

So the Acting Method enacts the deity corresponding to the path? Yet there are only seven True Deities; could some paths be played by Evil Gods? For example, the Witch Path mentioned by Mr. White Tower earlier is enacted by that Primeval Witch.

No wonder Mr. Fool emphasized when he told us about the Acting Method that we are merely playing!

If one loses oneself, will extraordinary beings be assimilated by the corresponding deity?

The Hanged Man A'erjie also thought of these questions; being in the Storm Church, he understood this better, for although the church's extraordinary beings each have their own personalities, any extraordinary being on the Sailor Path inevitably shares many common traits.

"No wonder the church fully controls only the Sailor Path; it's not that they can't obtain other paths, but that this path is wholly under the Lord of the Storm's control!"

Inside, Hanged Man A'erjie couldn't help but think of more; without exception, these are all blasphemous thoughts.

Only Little Sun did not show excessive worry, because he knows the Sun is the authority of the All-Knowing All-Powerful God worshipped in Silver City.

"I am approaching the All-Knowing All-Powerful God; if assimilation can save Silver City, I am willing!"

Little Sun's inner thoughts differ from others; being in the God-Abandoned Land, he cares more about saving Silver City than himself.

Miss Justice Audrey hesitated, glancing at the foremost Mr. Fool, then at Lei Keton ahead to the side.

"Miss Justice, what would you like to ask?"

Lei Keton, seeing Audrey's motion, could guess she wanted to ask which deity corresponds to the Audience Path.

Ke Lai En also guessed, but he did not know the answer, so he pretended there were no hints.

Miss Justice Audrey nodded slightly and said:

"Mr. White Tower, do you know which deity corresponds to the Audience Path? What reward is required?"

"Reward? You can custom-make some clothing for small animals for me; I'll tell you the exact sizes and styles later."

Lei Keton prepared to order custom clothing for his own Tu Ba Ge. Over time, Tu Ba Ge's little vests and cloaks had become damaged, making it perfect for Miss Audrey to privately—no, privately custom-make a few sets for it.

"Tu Ba Ge? Clothing that Miss Justice personally orders must be a noble exclusive! I never thought I'd one day envy a rabbit," Ke Lai En thought helplessly.

"Clothing for small animals?"

"Alright, no problem; I'll have my favorite designer make it for it."

Miss Ao Daili was very interested in the little creature Mr. Bai Ta mentioned, wondering if she could have Mr. Bai Ta personally find someone to tailor clothes for it, and whether, like Su Qian, it was also a magical animal.

I wonder what animal it will be? A dog? A cat? Or something else? Could it, like Mr. Bai Ta, be a Reader Path, in which case it would need a pair of custom glasses.

Ao Daili fell into imagination about another magical animal and for a moment forgot to ask Lei Kedun the answer she wanted.

"Ahem." A light cough brought Miss Justice back to herself, and Lei Kedun then spoke:

"The Audience Path currently has no deity."

"No deity for now? So it might appear soon?"

Miss Justice Ao Daili discerned the implication hidden in Lei Kedun's words.

Keeping a smiling expression, she gave a slight nod toward Lei and then fell into thought.

Mr. Bai Ta meant that the Audience Path already has an entity close to a deity; he hopes that one is not an evil god, otherwise he would have to consider changing paths.

"The Audience Path has no deity? Hmm, that matches my related speculation."

Under the gray mist, Ke Lai En gave a slight nod; those whose sight was blocked by the mist could not see this subtle movement.

Having obtained the information she wanted, Ao Daili turned to share some things she knew about Bei Ke Lan De:

"Bei Ke Lan De recently experienced a serial murder case, 11 incidents in total, except one that was confirmed to be a copycat."

"The hallmark of this serial murder is that it targets women who once worked as street prostitutes but now have regular jobs; the killer opens their abdomens and removes all organs."

The Little Sun sitting to Lei Kedun's right suddenly spoke:

"I know this ritual."

"A ritual? You know?" Ao Daili asked back, both surprised and delighted.

Xiao Taiyang Dai Li Ke nodded:

"I recall this ritual; I saw it in a textbook. It is quite ancient, a ceremony demons use to aid their own ascension, often appearing when Sequence Six ascends to Sequence Five."

Ao Daili asked, rather astonished:

"A ritual demons use to aid their own ascension?"

"Yes, Sequence Six of the Abyss Path is called Demon, which is why the race is named Demon."

Xiao Taiyang Dai Li Ke answered very seriously.

Then, under Ao Daili's further questioning, Xiao Taiyang Dai Li Ke recounted the ritual's specifics.

"At minimum 13 people, at most 49; the more complete the ritual, the better the effect."

"There must be at least three days between two murders, otherwise it may go out of control, but it also cannot exceed nine days, or the ritual will reset."

"After each murder, the demon consumes the victim's organs; from then on, it remains in a violent, blood‑thirsty state, desiring to harm others until that urge is satisfied."

"How terrifying."

Ao Daili, after hearing Xiao Taiyang's description, sighed from the bottom of her heart, saying that the scene was so cruel that even just imagining it felt brutal.

Lei Kedun, recalling Ke Lai En, who was invited by Ai Xingge·Si Tandun to investigate the case, added some information about demons:

"Because of the Abyss Path's nature, extraordinary beings who walk it are prone to losing control; even if lucky enough to avoid it, they gradually become cold‑blooded, cruel, and insane, easily dominated by blood‑lust and murderous urges."

"Moreover, demons that evolve from different races each have distinct abilities, so the descriptions of demons in stories and legends vary accordingly."

Ke Lai En slightly lifted his head, gazing at Lei Kedun as he described demon traits; he felt the remarks were a reminder to himself.

"Al's meaning is that the demon in this case might not be human?"
