Chapter 193: Klein and the Red Light
"Do you Seven Lights of the Spirit Realm have a way to reach the Divine Abandoned Land? A Meng already knows of its existence."
Lei Ke Dun opened the discussion first, and while speaking he glanced at Ke Lai En.
A Meng discovered my existence. He, from the start, already knew that I am the so‑called Fool?
Lei Ke Dun's brief remark instantly sent ripples through Ke Lai En's mind, leaving no energy to contemplate A Meng's question or Red Light Ai Er Mo Rui Ya's odd attitude toward him.
Red Light Ai Er Mo Rui Ya cast a slightly solemn side glance at Ke Lai En, and after a brief pause said:
"A Meng's true form resides in the Divine Abandoned Land; it will not act lightly until it truly verifies your identity or uncovers important clues."
"Of course, Your Highness, you still need to guard against it; it is the greatest obstacle to your return to that supreme throne."
"In the near future, between you and it, there will inevitably be an all‑out struggle!"
After admonishing Ke Lai En, Ai Er Mo Rui Ya turned his gaze back to Lei Ke Dun and answered the earlier question:
"The Spirit Realm of the Divine Abandoned Land is also isolated from the outside; even we, who are closely linked to the Spirit Realm, cannot cross this barrier."
"I do know a way to enter the Divine Abandoned Land, but I do not advise you to step there now; for you at present, it is an extremely dangerous place."
Lei Ke Dun gave a slight nod and chuckled:
"Rest assured, I have no intention of granting anyone traits."
The study briefly fell into a hush; no one spoke again, only a cold vortex swirled in the middle of the room, stirring the scattered herbal powder into undulating clouds.
Ke Lai En reorganized his thoughts, his gaze drifting between Lei Ke Dun and Ai Er Mo Rui Ya.
Ai Er Mo Rui Ya seemed to perceive Ke Lai En's hesitation and said in a very friendly manner:
"Your Highness, you may ask me any question; whatever I know, I can tell you now."
"There's no need for such courtesy." After a brief pause, Ke Lai En inhaled deeply and continued:
"In your view, which things now should I know and be able to know?"
Ke Lai En considered rephrasing his questions; this way was more convenient than asking them one by one.
Ai Er Mo Rui Ya's expression grew a bit stern, and after a moment of thought chose his words and said:
"Knowledge of higher tiers is inherently tainted; Your Highness, your current Sequence is not high, so what I can tell you is limited."
At this point, Ai Er Mo Rui Ya met Ke Lai En's gaze, seeming to see through his thoughts, and continued:
"The peculiarity on you stems from the Source Keep, and the Source Keep is the primal essence of the three paths—Diviner, Thief, Apprentice—and is a requisite for reaching Above the Sequence!"
"Just as one must master Uniqueness to become Sequence 0."
"The link between the Source Keep and you will leave distinctive marks on you, marks that high‑rankers of those three paths will perceive."
"At the same time, other paths' high‑level beings who wield portions of destiny will also see them!"
"This peculiarity can only be concealed once you become a demi‑god."
Ke Lai En listened in silence to Ai Er Mo Rui Ya's account, his eyes lingering on Lei Ke Dun for a while.
After seeing Ke Lai En's reaction, Ai Er Mo Rui Ya lifted his hand, stroked his beard, and said with a smile:
"He is a devotee of 'Knowledge'; this 'Knowledge' refers not only to the Knowledge God but also to the primal essence that symbolizes knowledge."
"That activated primal essence and the Source Keep belong to the same tier of items; his knowing your identity is not unusual."
"Strictly speaking, the stature of the Knowledge Wilderness is lower than that of the Source Keep."
Lei Ke Dun glanced at the Red Light who had just leaked information to Ke Lai En, cleared his throat lightly, and corrected a minor slip in Ai Er Mo Rui Ya's wording.
"Knowledge Wilderness, Source Keep. How does it feel like everyone except me knows the secret on me? Is it a secret only to me!"
After digesting the information Ai Er Mo Rui Ya provided, Ke Lai En's lingering doubts were finally answered, yet more questions arose.
"Why do I have a connection with the Source Keep, and what does the Source Keep have to do with my transmigration? Al has no link to the Source Keep, so his transmigration must relate to that Knowledge Wilderness. What, then, caused Russell's transmigration?"
Ai Er Mo Rui Ya's imposing voice sounded again:
"In the Extraordinary World there is a saying: once your own Extraordinary Path is determined, your enemies and friends are likewise set."
"All angels of the Diviner, Thief, and Apprentice paths will become your enemies!"
Ke Lai En furrowed his brows deeper: the angels of the three paths—I'm still only at Sequence 7.
While pondering, Ke Lai En shifted his gaze to Lei Ke Dun beside him.
Lei Ke Dun raised an eyebrow slightly and said:
"The Knowledge Wilderness has only two paths, the Seeker of Secrets and the Generalist; I only need one Steam God."
"Why is there no Hidden Sage?"
Ke Lai En timely voiced the question.
Ai Er Mo Rui Ya answered this question for Ke Lai En before Lei Ke Dun could speak:
"The activation of the Hidden Sage is deeply linked to the Knowledge Wilderness; that evil god has long been under the Wilderness's control."
"If he were to strike the Hidden Sage, he would become the next Hidden Sage."
Lei Ke Dun found the scene amusing; as one of the Seven Lights of the Spirit Realm, Ai Er Mo Rui Ya was a walking encyclopedia before Ke Lai En.
Lei Ke Dun, seeing Ke Lai En's bitter expression, chuckled and reminded:
"There's no need to think about such distant matters; after all, we aren't even demi‑gods yet."
"Maintain a good mindset; before becoming demi‑gods, it is the easiest stage to accumulate humanity."
"Thanks, that was no comfort at all," Ke Lai En retorted sarcastically.
"Do you know the magician's role guidelines?"
The information obtained today gave Ke Lai En a sense of urgency.
He must quickly raise his Sequence, at least to reach Sequence 4 demi‑god level soon, to conceal the Source Keep's marks on him.
Lei Ke Dun, looking reminiscent, thought for a moment and said:
"I know four points:
1. Perform more proactive acts, but do not act without preparation;"
2. Challenge the impossible, even if the final result is merely false;
3. Strive to earn the audience's cheers;
4. Keep the target's attention under control.
KeLaiEn pondered for a moment; it was not far from his own conclusion, and then he turned his head to cast a seeking glance at Ai Er·Mo Rui Ya.
Ai Er·Mo Rui Ya gave a slight nod and said in a voice full of authority:
"Basically that's it; each person's role is different, and you need to find the method that suits you."
In Silver City, inside the chief office at the top of the Round Tower.
Ke Lin·Yi Li Ya Te, the chief of the six‑member council, stood by the window, gazing at Silver City shrouded in darkness and lightning.
The dim candlelight in the room illuminated his graying, disheveled hair, the twisted, snarling old scar on his face, the deep nasolabial lines on his cheek, and his eyes full of worry.
Seeming to sense something, Ke Lin turned his body, looked toward the dark corner, and asked in a deep voice:
"Anything discovered?"
In the corner where Ke Lin's gaze fell, a shadow rose, its pitch‑black silhouette projected onto the wall, constantly twisting and wavering.
A voice with a metallic scraping quality rang out from the room:
"After Dai Li Ke·Bo Ge returned home, his behavior showed certain abnormalities."
Ke Lin, unsurprised, gave a light nod and asked in a flat tone:
"What did he do?"
By using the mysterious artifact at the base of the Round Tower to become a light being, he dealt with the rogue and, after confronting A Meng's avatar, he has constantly suspected that the matter was not fully resolved.
The former expedition squad leader that Dai Li Ke mentioned became A Meng's avatar, and after Dai Li Ke had been in contact with A Meng's avatar for so long, he suspects the other party has unknowingly become that A Meng avatar as well.
He does not know whether today's events are a clash among evil gods, a test, or an attempt to gain his trust.
But he must respond in a way entirely different from the previous handling.
On the wall, the black shadow that trembled ever so slightly answered:
"After he entered the room, he sat by the bedside and muttered to himself for a while. Because I was worried the mysterious person would notice, I didn't get too close, so I couldn't hear exactly what he said, but it was certainly an abnormal behavior."
"After his muttering, Dai Li Ke seemed very fatigued and fell asleep quickly, but not long after he suddenly awoke and performed a ceremony, a ritual containing secret pact elements."
"The ritual appears to have received a response!"
Ke Lin furrowed his brow, his expression solemn, and after a moment of thought said in an increasingly heavy tone:
"Indeed. He is communicating with A Meng's true form through this method? Or perhaps with the evil god that established contact with him, helping him purge A Meng's residue from his body!"
"What is its or their purpose?"
The black shadow on the wall remained silent; it could not answer the question and continued:
"After the ritual, Dai Li Ke seemed unchanged. Should we act immediately? Whether it's A Meng's true form or the evil god that contacted Dai Li Ke, neither is something we can deal with."
Ke Lin was silent for several seconds before saying:
"No need for now. Neither that evil god nor A Meng has shown us sufficient malice, so letting them influence and restrain each other is more advantageous for us."
"Do you remember that prophecy? As the disaster approaches, the dangers we encounter increase; danger, for us, may also be an opportunity!"
"We will follow your will, Chief!"
The black shadow on the wall slowly receded into the floor until it vanished completely.
