Chapter 200: Epilogue

~9 min read 1,681 words

After watching the girls flee, Ke Lai En swiftly scanned the area and located Lei Ke Dun's position.

A cluster of flames darted, instantly devouring Ke Lai En's figure.

The next moment, beside Lei Ke Dun, in an inconspicuous corner, a discarded match flared into a blaze.

The Black Emperor‑clad spirit of Ke Lai En stepped out, his gaze lingered briefly on the frozen statue of He La Si and the Bone Staff gnawing at him, then quickly withdrew.

Lei Ke Dun's eyes swept the night sky above, penetrating reality to probe the crack between the spirit realm and the material world.

There, a vast net of countless strange symbols that influences perception and judgment had become almost transparent, looking as if it could vanish at any moment.

After pulling his gaze back, he whispered to the nearby Ke Lai En:

"If you want to do anything else, you must hurry; the imprisoned girls need to escape, and the sensory barrier I left around here will soon fail."

"Understood!" Ke Lai En nodded lightly.

He snapped his fingers, a burst of flame erupted from his body, engulfing his form and disappearing from Lei Ke Dun's sight.

Lei Ke Dun glanced at the Bone Staff still gnawing the frozen flesh of He La Si and reminded:

"Eat faster, someone will arrive soon."

Seeming to understand, the Bone Staff paused its swallowing motion, then accelerated, shivering intermittently as if the cold on the frozen flesh had stimulated it.

Lei Ke Dun turned, his figure instantly becoming transparent, turning into a statue of countless gathered starlight, then turning into brilliant stellar radiance that surged toward the villa.

As the stellar light surged, it easily passed through the gap and entered the treasure‑holding secret chamber; star‑like sparks reconvened inside, and Lei Ke Dun emerged from the points of light.

He surveyed the room, sweeping up all the easily portable jewels, gold bars, land deeds, antiques in one go.

He found a larger safe in the room, packed everything inside, then pulled a paper doll from his pocket and tossed it in.

Then, surrounded by a faint blue glow in his eyes, Lei Ke Dun raised his hand, sketching a symbolic door in mid‑air, briefly bridging the barrier between the spirit realm and reality.

With a gentle push forward, the safe was thrust into the spirit realm.

Having done all this, Lei Ke Dun's figure again turned into flickering stellar radiance and returned outside the villa, to the place where He La Si had vanished.

The ice‑like corpse of He La Si that had lain on the ground was gone, leaving only a dark iron‑colored metallic glove and a Bone Staff covered with a layer of white frost on the floor.

"Does this Bone Staff lack any extraordinary properties?" Lei Ke Dun asked Tu Ba Ge beside him.

Tu Ba Ge shook his head, pointing at the frost‑covered Bone Staff on the ground and said:

"No, it was eaten before it could manifest!"

Lei Ke Dun nodded slightly; this Bone Staff can house souls, and He La Si was likely devoured whole—flesh and soul alike.

During the conversation, Ke Lai En's voice drifted out from the villa again: "Alright, let's leave."

As soon as the words fell, Ke Lai En cancelled his own summons, and his spirit vanished on the spot.

Tu Ba Ge's mouth dropped open in surprise:

"Boss, the faint spirit, it's really a ghost!"

Lei Ke Dun ignored Tu Ba Ge's dramatics, picked up the Bone Staff and the dark iron glove from the ground.

He tossed the dark iron glove to Tu Ba Ge, moved closer, and twisted Tu Ba Ge's neck with his hand.

Shadows around writhed, covering Lei Ke Dun and the twisted Tu Ba Ge.

In the blink of an eye, everything around returned to normal, as if no one had ever appeared.

Lei Ke Dun led Tu Ba Ge through the shadows; after five or six seconds, they were back in the room they had been in earlier.

Ke Lai En's spirit had already transited through the gray mist, returned to his own body, and was tidying up the remaining ritual setup in the room.

As soon as Tu Ba Ge saw Ke Lai En, he darted, leapt behind Lei Ke Dun's trousers, dropping the dark iron glove he was holding onto the floor.

Ke Lai En looked at Tu Ba Ge's actions with a puzzled expression and asked:

"What's wrong with it?"

Glancing away embarrassedly, the rabbit, Lei Ke Dun said helplessly, "It's scared of ghosts; it saw your spirit form just now and got frightened."

"Uh…" Ke Lai En fell silent for a moment, unsure how to comfort the timid, impulsive rabbit.

"Let me clean up." Lei Ke Dun lifted the Bone Staff in his hand.

The surrounding shadows, a beat slow, began to surge like a tide, rapidly engulfing everything in the room, swallowing them into the thick black darkness.

The room was quickly cleared; Lei Ke Dun bent down again to pick up the dark iron glove Tu Ba Ge had dropped.

He looked up and reminded Ke Lai En, "Hold onto me."

After confirming both Tu Ba Ge and Ke Lai En were in contact with him, Lei Ke Dun waved the Bone Staff again; the shadows writhed, covering the three of them.

The room soon settled, only the pale yellow firelight through the glass window faintly illuminated the empty house, which seemed to have been untouched for a long time.

In about ten seconds, a phantom gate ripped open in the sky above Ka Ping Villa, covered with intricate symbols.

The gate stood open silently, and a handsome man in his early forties, dressed in a crisp formal suit, stepped out.

His bearing was mature and elegant; his golden eyes scanned the area, quickly locking onto the main battlefield—the restaurant!

He was about to enter when a gust of fierce wind blew, and a silhouette rushed toward him at high speed.

It was an elderly man wearing a black robe embroidered with storm symbols; he was the Cardinal of the Storm Church, Archbishop of the Beckland Diocese, known as "Singer of God" Aise Sniek!

"Why are you here?" Archbishop Aise Sniek of the Storm Church asked directly, his tone far from friendly.

The extraordinary incident in Jo Wood District belongs to the Holy Wind Cathedral's jurisdiction; whether because of his rank or the fact that the other arrived first, he had reason to question in that manner.

The handsome man answered with a pallid complexion:

"I live nearby."

The two said no more, then looked down at the villa still ablaze.

A fierce hurricane, swirling with moisture, battered the villa from all sides, dousing the flames.

Within the villa, a fiery humanoid emerged, seemingly the arsonist of the fire, still recklessly setting flames and battling the wind‑laden storm.

"Exile!" the handsome man declared, eyes fixed ahead, voice authoritative.

An invisible force tore through the void, pulling the flame demon's projection into it, its destination unknown.

The two half‑human, half‑god warriors walked toward the restaurant, seeing many bodies blackened to ash, and their brows furrowed deeper.

The Storm Church Archbishop Aisi Sineke's face already showed visible anger.

Upon reaching the restaurant, they saw the scene strewn with Tarot cards and the blackened, twisted corpses inside.

The corpse of Kapeng, covered with Tarot cards, seemed to have been left with a relatively clear face for identification.

Two major Tarot cards covered Kapeng's face: the Emperor card, showing a figure in armor with a crown, and the White Tower card, depicting a tower soaring into the clouds!

Almost simultaneously, Holy Wind Chapel Archbishop Aisi Sineke and the handsome man spun around and rushed out of the villa.

They saw on the roof of the side building a majestic figure clad in black armor, wearing a black crown, its cape fluttering in the wind.

The figure gave them a slight nod, then vanished instantly where it stood.

At almost the same moment, a silvery‑white lightning bolt struck fiercely, but it did not hit the ground; it flickered in mid‑air and then disappeared.

The lightning's flash illuminated the surrounding area like daylight, every detail laid bare.

The Divine Singer Aisi Sineke withdrew his gaze, his face grim, and, without hiding the fury in his tone, said:

"Illusion?"

"Like vengeful spirit shadows? Doesn't seem like a true undead."

The handsome man with golden eyes looked at the spot where the Black Emperor's spirit image had vanished and said:

"It is a phantom that lies between reality and illusion, not a simple hallucination; if the user intends, they can harness this phantom to achieve certain deeds."

"However…," the handsome man glanced toward the restaurant inside the villa and continued:

"This is the second similar incident in the past two months."

The Divine Singer Aisi Sineke asked in a deep voice:

"When was the first time?"

"The True Creator's attempt to use a fraudster's arrival."

The handsome man spoke familiarly about the incident when Lan Erwu died.

The Divine Singer Aisi Sineke looked around and said:

"Perhaps it is a newly emerged mysterious organization."

"Let us see what actually happened here."

It was not until then that the Punisher arrived on the scene.

After slipping through the shadows away from Kapeng's villa, Leike Dun led Ke Lai En and Tu Ba Ge into the spirit realm, then roamed back to No. 15 Mingsike Jie.

"The phantom I left was triggered just now."

As soon as the figure materialized, Ke Lai En immediately said:

Leike Dun nodded slightly, speaking in a calm tone:

"Normal. With such a commotion, the Luen officials and the Storm Church members will certainly arrive immediately."

"Did you scatter Tarot cards on the spot?"

Ke Lai En sat down on the living‑room sofa, exhaled, and then said:

"Yes, I gave the summoned flame humanoid the order not to burn the Tarot cards or Kapeng's face, hoping it would obey."

"As long as there is anything left to burn, it will not disobey the command!"
