Chapter 313: Dreams Repeatedly Invaded
Edwina's voice reached the center of the room, her back to the window, as she asked concisely:
"What happened during this period of time?"
Daniz's spirits lifted, and he began to recount at length everything he had experienced during this time:
"This needs to be told starting from Damir Port."
In verbose language, he described the miserable experiences that had occurred along the way, from his attempt to recruit Gehrman Sparrow, to being forced to travel with him, all the way until they arrived at Bayam.
"Poor old Lin'en, 'Steel' Maiweit of the Blood Pirates found them and ambushed the crew of the Golden Dream there."
"I dealt with 'Steel' there for a long time, but was ultimately outmatched and could only choose to flee for my life."
"After that, I lured him to that madman Gehrman Sparrow. Oh right, Captain, that glove Gehrman Sparrow wears on his hand should be the Squirming Hunger that belonged to 'Hurricane Lieutenant' Qilingsi, the one you mentioned. There must be a powerful faction behind this madman adventurer."

While Daniz was rambling on about Gehrman Sparrow's image, he heard the lock cylinder turn and the sound of the door opening.
Daniz subconsciously turned his head to look toward the bedroom behind him, and a stone-faced Gehrman Sparrow walked out of the bedroom.
Daniz's eyes went wide, and he pointed at Klein in utter disbelief, saying:
"You! How did you come out?"
Tu Ba Ge swiftly darted forward and leaped onto Klein, and after confirming that it was truly Klein's consciousness that had appeared in this dream, it said in great surprise:
"Huh? You can make Nightmare Charms too?"
Klein's back muscles violently tensed and flexed so that he wouldn't get knocked down by Tu Ba Ge. Feeling the weight on his shoulder, he silently sighed—this rabbit had indeed gotten quite a bit heavier again; it really needed to go on a diet, for its own health!
Maintaining Gehrman Sparrow's persona, he responded with an icy voice:
"Sleep Charm!"
Then, with Tu Ba Ge perched on his shoulder, he stepped forward and approached the wary Daniz, as well as the Iceberg Lieutenant behind him who was sizing him up.
Under Daniz's wary gaze, he stopped his pace and spoke in a flat tone:
"Hello, ma'am~"
"Hello, Mr. Sparrow."
Edwina responded in an equally flat tone.
After that, neither of them spoke, and the room fell so quiet it felt somewhat excessive.
Daniz looked left, then right. He couldn't help feeling that he was now just like that fat rabbit—somewhat superfluous.
His gaze caught sight of Tu Ba Ge sprawled on Gehrman Sparrow's shoulder, and he immediately reached up to cover his mouth, stopping himself from laughing out loud.
Wait, this is my dream, so why should I still be afraid of Gehrman Sparrow? At this thought, Daniz instantly felt confident again.
The next moment, he received an icy glare from Klein.
Daniz reacted instinctively, ducking behind Edwina. Why am I afraid, this is just a dream, damn it! Hasn't my image in the Captain's mind turned into that of a timid coward!
"Ahem! I—"
Daniz coughed lightly twice and stepped out from behind Edwina, preparing to find an excuse to salvage some of his image in the Captain's mind.
He had barely opened his mouth when he saw the rabbit perched on Gehrman Sparrow's shoulder pull out a green bean from god knows where and casually toss it onto the floor.
The next moment, the green bean instantly grew, transforming into thick, verdant vines that surged upward ceaselessly, sweeping everyone up and breaking through the roof, shooting straight into the clouds.
Just as Daniz felt he was about to be startled awake from the dream, these ceaselessly growing verdant vines finally stopped, covering the surrounding area like a torrential rain.
They intertwined and wove together, rapidly forming a forest, layered and overlapping, with no end in sight at all.
"What is this thing?"
Isn't this my dream? Daniz stood rooted to the spot, not daring to move an inch.
"Very peculiar magic, somewhat like the 'Fairy Tale Magic' used by that 'Mysteries Queen.'"
Edwina surveyed the surroundings curiously. She was somewhat curious to understand the principles behind this peculiar magic—unfortunately, this was a dream, and this magic was merely a product of imagination, lacking any real substance.
Tu Ba Ge jumped down from Klein's shoulder somewhat awkwardly, cradling its head with both paws, and said:
"I just wanted to test the ability of the 'Nightmare Charm.' Who knew this dream would be so easily changed."
Phew—Klein exhaled deeply, feeling the pressure on his body suddenly decrease—this rabbit's weight was completely disproportionate to its size.
A faint blue glow surfaced in Edwina's eyes and quickly disappeared again. She said in a calm voice:
"The 'Nightmare Charm' you used is of very high quality, and coupled with the fact that Daniz's dream has been invaded by several of us in succession, it would naturally be more fragile."
Poor Daniz—ah no, poor dream. Klein lamented inwardly, then turned his gaze to Edwina and asked expressionlessly:
"May I ask you two questions?"
"Please go ahead."
Edwina nodded gently in response.
Klein maintained his persona, his voice flat and his tone devoid of any inflection as he said:
"Where are the eyes of a Six-Winged Stone Gargoyle, or any clues?"
Edwina glanced at Daniz and said:
"I'll keep an eye out for you."
"If you want to attend Beyonder gatherings in Bayam, he knows some and can take you there."
Klein nodded gently and continued asking:
"How much do you know about the 'Key of the Death God'?"
Edwina glanced at Daniz, then slightly raised her right hand and directly manifested that "Key of the Death God" within Daniz's dream.
Poor Daniz—everyone seemed more like the master of this dream than he did. Klein lamented once more, then carefully examined the key Edwina had manifested, which was of an archaic design and roughly the size of an eight- or nine-year-old child.
A layer of brilliant starlight suddenly suffused Daniz's dream, and everyone nearly in unison looked up at the sky above.
"It's nighttime?"
"Wait, there's time in a dream?"
Daniz, full of doubt, muttered two sentences to himself.
Aidewenna quickly reacted, speaking in a calm voice:
"Someone has intervened in your dream."
Damn! This is my dream, not your come-and-go card room!
Daniz's face stiffened, then turned ugly; he felt his private dream was quickly becoming a public place.
Starlight scattered down, condensed in midair, and Leiketon's figure appeared.
He glanced around at everyone, slightly raised his eyebrows, and spoke in a very cheerful tone:
"Everyone is here!"
Saying that, he walked over to Daniz, and in his doubtful gaze, patted his shoulder and said:
"Perhaps you are more suited to the night path; I think you have the talent to be a nightmare."
"Your ordinary dream can withstand the simultaneous descent of so many people, including their alterations to the dream."
Daniz's face stiffened again; he felt he was being mocked. Damn! You guy should be more suited to be a provocateur!
You are also a good seed of the Hunter path; Kelaien and Daniz's thoughts are surprisingly consistent.
"Hunter and Sleepless do not belong to adjacent pathways; moreover, switching pathways requires at least Sequence Four."
Aidewenna was like the class study monitor, correcting classmates' mistakes with a serious and earnest tone.
Ma'am, he was probably just joking. As Kelaien muttered to himself, he once again updated his impression of Aidewenna. She was nothing like a part-time pirate adventurer; she was essentially a teacher with a cold expression but a warm and strict demeanor.
Leiketon chuckled, shook his head, and supplemented knowledge about adjacent pathways to Aidewenna and Kelaien.
"Besides the known exchangeable pathways, there are also some hidden adjacent pathways, or rather, adjacent pathways that have not yet been discovered and confirmed."
"Hunter and Sleepless belong among them, only with some restrictions."
"Hidden adjacent pathways?" Aidewenna muttered.
"What restrictions?" Kelaien asked directly.
"When the Hunter and Witch pathways exchange with the Sleepless, Corpse Collector, and Warrior pathways, upon advancing to a certain level, one must eliminate one's original characteristics, otherwise advancement is impossible."
"A certain level? Rather than a certain sequence?"
Aidewenna was very perceptive, grasping the key point in Leiketon's words.
Leiketon lightly nodded, then spoke leisurely without further explanation:
"This question, I can answer it once you become a demigod."
Above the Sequence, Kelaien was making guesses in his mind; because Daniz and Aidewenna were present, he did not directly ask this question.
Daniz stood there dazed, already looking foolish; what are they discussing? Everyone is extraordinary—what is there that I shouldn't not know? Why can't I understand a single word?
He somewhat hesitantly lowered his gaze, looking at Tu Ba Ge standing to the side.
What met his eyes was that fat rabbit wearing an expression of "I already knew all this," and Daniz felt a tightness in his chest. Why does even a rabbit know so much high-level occult knowledge!
