Chapter 321: Spirit Realm

~9 min read 1,615 words

"It ended so quickly?"

"Has that Sea God already recovered? Or has it truly already fallen?"

Isang murmured to himself, feeling that the matter had ended rather hastily; the Sea God's fall hadn't even caused any stir in Baiyam.

After a moment of contemplation, he thought of something, turned, and left the room.

In the hall with a furnace blazing, Fei Ni Ke Si sat quietly by the fire, writing a letter.

Isang, draped in a black robe, took a few steps forward, dragged a chair over, and sat down, saying:

"You haven't gone to sleep yet? It's just a letter, right? You've been thinking all night and still haven't finished it?"

"Did you notice the change in the weather outside?"

"Hmm."

"The confrontation between the Sea God and the Sea King has ended."

Fei Ni Ke Si gave a slight nod, speaking in an even tone.

Isang lounged lazily in the chair, enjoying the furnace's warmth, then said:

"You say, who won between them?"

"The Sea King."

"Why not the Sea God? Can't it have already restored its condition?"

Isang retorted.

Fei Ni Ke Si shook his head slightly, his gaze lingering for a moment on the moonlight streaming through the window, then said:

"Intuition."

"That Sea God was gravely wounded by the Storm Church two hundred years ago, barely surviving since, and could not suddenly discover a way to heal itself."

After speaking, he buried his head again, pondering how to reply.

Isang looked at Fei Ni Ke Si with a puzzled expression and said:

"You even know this?"

"Just asked."

Fei Ni Ke Si didn't lift his head, responding flatly.

Isang pursed his lips slightly, adjusted his posture, turned his body sideways, and casually scattered a handful of silvery dust onto a nearby cabinet.

He caused the coffee pot, cups, and other utensils there to levitate and drift slowly into his hand.

Then, with practiced movements, he brewed coffee over the furnace.

Fei Ni Ke Si looked at him with curiosity:

"Aren't you going to sleep?"

"That Sea God won't act again; it has most likely already fallen."

Isang's hands kept moving, a faint smile curling his lips as he chuckled:

"Since we're awake, why not wait for the aftermath; perhaps there'll be an extra development."

"Opportunity belongs to those who are prepared!"

Dock District, Azure Breeze Inn.

Ke Lai En, stimulated by spiritual energy, jolted awake from the bed, quickly recalled something, turned his head toward the window, and through a slit in the curtains glimpsed the scarlet moonlight outside.

He hummed for two seconds, then withdrew his gaze, rolled out of bed, walked backward four steps, and re-entered the gray mist.

He sat upright at the head of a weathered long table, casually manifested a coin, tossed it into the air, and performed a simple divination:

"Ka Wei Tu Wa has completely perished."

Snap~ the gold coin fell back into his palm, heads up, indicating affirmation!

A Tier‑3 Sea God met such a simple death; aside from its followers and a few extraordinary beings, no one would even know what happened these past two days.

He then radiated spiritual energy, reaching the deep‑red star representing Lei Ke Dun, transmitting that the Sea God Ka Wei Tu Wa had perished and the exact coordinates of its hidden ruin.

After completing that, he manifested his usual yellow crystal pendant and quickly divined the danger level of exploring Ka Wei Tu Wa's lair.

Soon, he received a result indicating some danger, but within tolerable limits.

The danger wasn't great; where did it stem from? The ruin itself? Or the Sea King also searching for Ka Wei Tu Wa's hideout?

After a brief contemplation, he ceased pondering the issue, enveloped himself in spiritual energy, left the gray mist, and began preparing for the upcoming exploration.

Fei Nei Bo Te, Sai Wei Ya.

Lei Ke Dun arrived at the warehouse pre‑arranged by his clone; the scene before him blurred briefly, then dense gray mist surged out.

Ke Lai En's flat voice echoed in his ears:

"Ka Wei Tu Wa has completely perished."

Along with it came the precise coordinates of a location in the Spirit Realm.

Is this an invitation for me to join? Indeed, the Sea King is also searching for Ka Wei Tu Wa's hideout; after a brief pause, Lei Ke Dun casually tore out a pale‑yellow paper figure and tossed it into a corner of the warehouse.

Then his figure faded swiftly, vanishing on the spot.

In the Spirit Realm, Lei Ke Dun's form continually moved toward the coordinates given by Ke Lai En.

He passed by countless indescribable, transparent, illusory shapes, while around him bizarre Spirit Realm creatures appeared and vanished beyond imagination.

Even though it was no longer his first step into the Spirit Realm, Lei Ke Dun still felt it was wondrous, like a fairy tale—only a dark‑styled one.

As he drew nearer to the target, he sensed a stronger briny scent among the Spirit Realm beings; most bore slick tentacles, layered scales, and vividly colored fins.

After wandering the Spirit Realm for a while, Lei Ke Dun halted his advance, stopping before a nearly illusory collapsed structure.

Above the building floated a gigantic jellyfish‑shaped Spirit Realm creature.

It casually extended semi‑transparent, slime‑coated tentacles, claiming the surrounding area as its domain.

Each tentacle tip bore a white skull, emitting faint emerald glows that swayed with the tentacle's movement.

After a brief glance, he withdrew his gaze, then, with a hint of curiosity, looked up toward the highest point of the spirit realm.

Although the spirit realm has no concept of direction, most extraordinary beings habitually treat the location of the seven eternally hovering, slowly drifting beams of pure light of different colors—seemingly forever entrenched deep within the spirit realm—as the realm's uppermost point, a fixed coordinate.

Lei Kedun fixed his gaze on the highest point of the spirit realm, where the seven pure lights seemed to possess life, harboring endless knowledge, drifting slowly and unpredictably.

As if responding to Lei Kedun's stare, he sensed the gaze of those seven pure lights from deep within the spirit realm—emotionless, unbiased, a pure stare.

"Is this responding to me?" Lei Kedun guessed uncertainly in his mind.

A moment later, a figure clad in jet‑black full armor, wearing a strange crown stained with blood and rust, and a black cloak bearing red flame patterns fluttering behind, appeared in Lei Kedun's sight.

"Is this spirit that incorporates the Black Emperor (Item) and the Conqueror attribute?" Lei Kedun wondered, "Directly incorporating the Conqueror attribute—might that be a bit bold?" While he was pondering, Ke Lai En's spirit had already arrived before his eyes.

Purple light swirled in Lei Kedun's eyes, but it could not pierce the anti‑divination, anti‑prophecy effect of the Black Emperor (Item); he could only see a slightly deep black, with a vague pyramid‑shaped form faintly emerging.

Retracting the gaze of his secret‑seeking eye, he asked curiously:

"Did you directly incorporate that Conqueror attribute?"

"No, just carrying it."

"Through the special nature of the spirit state, I can invoke part of its power."

Ke Lai En, dressed as the Black Emperor (Title), opened in a slightly low voice.

Lei Kedun gave a slight nod, no longer focusing on the question; he pointed to the other side, toward the gigantic jellyfish that claimed the nearly collapsed building ring as its domain, and said:

"Would you try using your own special stature to drive it away directly? Randomly sparking a battle might cause Ya En·Kao Te Man, who is searching here, to notice a trace."

"I'll give it a try."

Ke Lai En gave a slight nod; the spirit dressed as the Black Emperor (Title) moved closer, and after the gigantic jellyfish noticed him, he swiftly activated the Black Emperor (Item) contained within his body.

An extreme depth of authority radiated from him; under the influence of the Black Emperor (Item), his gaze fell indifferently upon the gigantic jellyfish, meeting the skulls at the tips of its tentacles.

Lei Kedun, standing a short distance behind Ke Lai En, raised an eyebrow slightly. The skulls on the tentacles are the true bodies? Indeed, a bizarre spirit‑realm creature.

Although Ke Lai En's authority was directed at the gigantic jellyfish, he also felt that profound majesty, like an emperor seated on a high platform, overlooking all beings.

Purple light swirled again in Lei Kedun's eyes as he looked at Ke Lai En's spirit, at the false Black Emperor.

A vague image rose in his mind: one ancient, grand tomb after another, nine in total.

Their styles were uniform yet not entirely identical, each tomb seemingly representing a facet of the Black Emperor.

As Lei Kedun's gaze deepened, he saw much knowledge related to the Black Emperor; thanks to his unique path, he quickly comprehended and memorized the information, feeling only a brief dull headache and swelling, with no other abnormalities.

Knowledge of some extraordinary abilities from the Black Emperor path, as well as a briber's demonic potion formula—by gazing at Ke Lai En's spirit, am I, to some extent, also gazing at part of the Black Emperor's information?

While pondering, a majestic, low‑pitched word in ancient Hermes language echoed in his ears:

"Leave!"

A fear, an impulse to flee the spot, instantly spread through Lei Kedun's mind, but he quickly suppressed it.

The gigantic jellyfish with a skull for a head, after Ke Lai En spoke, swayed away from this spirit‑realm area swiftly.

The stature granted by the Black Emperor (Item) is truly useful! Ke Lai En, with a slight sigh, looked curiously at Lei Kedun behind him and asked:

"What did you just see?"
