Chapter 324: King of the Five Seas
This part of the ruins has completely collapsed, and even affected by the recent battle, the remaining walls and rubble are also covered with tiny cracks.
Only upon reaching the end did he see an exquisitely luxurious chair, buried under stone debris from the surrounding collapse, with only part of the backrest visible.
On the left wall of the chair, the still‑intact section of wall bears a damaged mural depicting two opposing figures.
The figure standing on high ground strides on the waves, head crowned with dark clouds, body wrapped in storm, he has a softer, somewhat Eastern facial outline, holding a spear made purely of lightning, behind him raging, all‑engulfing violent waves surge.
Opposing him below is a male with blurred features, wearing a simple white robe, behind him a halo of radiant light like a miniature sun.
"'Elf King' Suniya Suolemu and the Ancient Sun God."
Leikton murmured softly.
"This Elf King shows no trace of madness or ferocity; instead he's quite handsome—no wonder it's an elf relic."
Klein sighed softly.
Following his spiritual intuition, he found a flattened gold cup in a corner; on the cup's base was an elvish inscription: "Calamity, Gauginam."
"Who would engrave their name on a wine cup for no reason? There are too many identical cups, afraid of picking the wrong one."
Leikton stepped closer from the side and sneered.
"Well, maybe this is just how elves show affection."
Klein stared for a moment, then actually found the other's point reasonable—who would engrave their name on a cup for no reason?
Whoosh!
A sound like shattering glass rang out suddenly.
Leikton gazed upward at the ruins, purple light flowing in his eyes; his sight pierced the layers of obstruction, seeing in the spirit realm above a huge black‑hulled three‑masted sailing ship appear.
Lanterns hung on both sides, it was nearly a hundred meters long, bearing three sheets of black sail.
"The Black Emperor." Leikton's voice grew heavy.
His gaze fell on the ship's prow, where stood a man about 1.9 meters tall, wearing a scaled‑down spire crown, clad in a black‑robed robe with silver trim.
His facial lines were hard, his forehead bore noticeable wrinkles, he kept a short black beard, and deep black eyes flowed with crimson light, his gaze meeting Leikton's across the void.
A heavy, oppressive majesty came through the gaze, making Leikton feel his heart rate thump a little faster, and an unconscious tension rose in his chest.
Immediately, the light in his eyes shifted from purple to pale blue, his rationality took over, entering a state of absolute reason and suppressing the surging emotions within.
"'King of the Five Seas' Nast! Was he drawn here by the Black Emperor card?"
Klein heard Leikton's earlier murmur of "Black Emperor," his mood suddenly turning heavy—could the reaction have come so fast? Is the King of the Five Seas himself nearby?
"The Black Emperor is the strongest, top‑tier ghost ship; it can also become incorporeal and wander the spirit realm."
Leikton's voice gave a brief explanation, then he added:
"You bind the scepter into your spirit body; when danger strikes, you end the descent directly."
Klein nodded lightly, then asked:
"Are you sure you can leave?"
"Only the Black Emperor can freely travel the spirit realm, not the King of the Five Seas; as for the path, aside from the Sun path, I command the most extraordinary knowledge."
Leikton said this with great confidence.
Before his words faded, Leikton's heart surged with an unstoppable fighting spirit, his reason unable to hold it back.
"Damn!"
Just as he opened his mouth, Leikton instantly restrained his emotions, extended his right hand forward, made a pulling‑back motion, and drew an intangible thing from nothing, draping it over himself.
"The Emperor's New Clothes" let him temporarily become nonexistent; using this state, he avoided the mental distortion imposed by the King of the Five Seas, and then gradually calmed himself.
He then raised his hand, scattering a sheet of starlight, intercepting Klein who had already rushed a distance away.
"Calm down!"
His voice carried a spiritual wave that seemed able to soothe the heart, and Klein gradually regained his own state.
"Just now."
"The distortion at Sequence 3 level, the Black Emperor card cannot exempt you from."
"Just end the descent directly; I'm not good at handling this distortion, I can't look after you."
Klein's words were cut off before he finished by Leikton.
He nodded heavily, fully encompassed the scepter within his spirit body, then ended the descent; the figure in black armor, head crowned with a blood‑stained, rust‑tinged crown, vanished abruptly.
Only one sentence remained: "Chant my name!"
As Klein's silhouette vanished, Leikton was submerged in a surge of pale blue light, layers of brilliant starlight spreading, completely assimilating the surrounding ruins.
Immediately, he slightly lifted his head and opened his left palm toward the upper diagonal.
A layer of starlight spread out, the ruins' dome vanished in an instant, the barrier between spirit realm and reality briefly disappeared, revealing the vibrant spirit realm above and that huge black‑hulled three‑masted sailing ship.
Leikton clearly saw the figure standing on the prow, looking down below, looking down at himself—the "King of the Five Seas."
He then raised his right hand; his palm swiftly formed a mass of slowly rotating star sand.
Star after star appeared, dense and dazzling; under his will, these brilliant starlights surged toward the "Black Emperor" and toward the "King of the Five Seas" Nast.
Nast lowered his eyes, crimson light flowing; the distance between them was distorted, letting the starlight rush forth yet never able to reach the Black Emperor.
"Just now there was another person—how did he leave?"
Nast's majestic voice ignored the distance between them and rang directly in Leikton's ear.
"What do you want to do?"
Leikton replied casually.
Around him glittering starlight coiled, streaks flying away from his vicinity, no longer targeting the Black Emperor or Nast, drifting randomly through the surrounding spirit realm.
"Hmph!"
Nast let out a soft snort, his eyes narrowing slightly; the constantly darting starlight around him suddenly seemed to lose its sense of direction, becoming chaotic, even trending toward dissipation.
"Can the Sequence 3‑level 'chaos' already make the structure of unfocused ability wobble? If he goes all out, my starlight will vanish in an instant as its structure is destroyed."
Nasr's gaze swept majestically over the ruins below; when he had approached this place earlier, he had felt an attraction coming from this very pathway.
"The one who left—did he carry the Black Emperor, or an item from the angelic level of this pathway?"
His voice carried an irresistible majesty, making Rekton unable to restrain the urge to answer his questions truthfully.
He had just opened his mouth when thick grayish-white mist suddenly surged into his field of vision, and deep crimson light rose up, condensing into a tall angel bearing twelve pairs of pitch-black wings.
In the next instant, he was wrapped in layer upon layer of wings by this tall angel.
The gray mist in his field of vision quickly dissipated; Rekton's parted lips closed once more, and he calmed down again—the thought that had nearly been forgotten by him due to the distortion resurfaced as well.
Without any hesitation, he chanted the Fool's honorific name:
"Fool who does not belong to this era, mysterious Lord above the gray fog, King of Yellow and Black who wields good luck."
After chanting in a low voice once, his gaze turned back toward Nasr.
He thrust his right hand forward, rapidly condensing a long spear; the spearhead was inscribed with mysterious symbols, and the shaft resembled a segment of a tree branch.
The Spear That Must Hit, "Gungnir"!
In the next moment, the long spear in his hand was thrown, and a blazing white trace like a flash of lightning appeared between him and Nasr.
This trace seemed to cross an endless distance, constantly drawing closer to Nasr.
His expression grew more serious; this spear had not only locked onto him as a target in both the physical and mystical senses, but had also grafted a thread of karma—a fate that must hit.
"A Mysticologist?"
Nasr murmured aloud; this peculiar magic reminded him of the strange mystical reenactment that Beiernadai was very skilled at using.
Even as a Mage of Madness, he could not instantly distort and scramble this spear's lock on him.
Clang!
Nasr's right hand moved slightly, flicking out a gold coin.
In the next moment, the white trace Gungnir had traced through the air instantly bent, accurately striking that gold coin, and then returned to his hand.
This was a distortion of the identities of himself and that gold coin; he could not distort Gungnir's lock on him in a short time, but he could easily distort himself, letting other things take his place and be attacked—Rekton narrowed his eyes slightly, making a guess in his mind.
"Who does this peculiar mystical reenactment come from? Beiernadai, or a legacy left by Emperor Roselle?"
Nasr's voice remained deep and majestic, as if it could make spirits tremble, bearing an indescribable pressure, but it no longer carried that Beyonder ability that distorted one's will.
Was it blocked by the angel's blessing? Or did he never affect me to begin with?
After a brief hesitation, Rekton answered with a light chuckle:
"You are very respectful toward Roselle; if he knew, he would probably laugh proudly and say that this is his personal charisma."
The aura on Nasr's person grew even more majestic and heavy, and his words carried an indescribable, irresistible majesty as he said:
"Has He not yet completely fallen? Or has He already been resurrected?"
As he spoke, he reached his right hand forward and made a grasping motion with his palm.
Rekton found that even without any Beyonder ability acting on his mind, a trace of hesitation arose in him. He was already not far from an angel.
Immediately after, he felt that the structure and scale of the ruins he was in both fell into chaos in an instant, and even the starlight with which he had been assimilating the surrounding buildings unavoidably fell into chaos.
This vast ruin collapsed with a roar, crumbling thoroughly from the outside inward.
