Chapter 353

~7 min read 1,292 words

The Disease Brigadier General Thuris's captive, I recalled that this pirate admiral was very likely a witch. Klein's gaze fell on Rex, and thinking of his earlier words, a strange image surfaced in his mind.

If this is love, then it's indeed quite melodramatic. Klein silently muttered in his heart.

I recall that after Sequence 4, the Hunter pathway forces a gender change; Iron-blooded Knights can only be male, just as witches must be female.

In the quiet palace, Rex's muttering voice was especially noticeable.

Irene of the Loren family likely is a Hunter pathway Beyonder, captured by the witch Thuris. What am I thinking! A male assassin and a female hunter. No, I can't keep thinking—what devil is this guy! Klein felt the urge to wave his hand across his face.

At the previous tarot gathering, 'The Hanged Man' A'erjie had mentioned this pirate admiral; they also discussed the pathway of Disease Brigadier General Thuris, and Rex had said then that this pirate admiral was very likely a witch.

Under this premise, the expressions of the tarot gathering members changed somewhat.

'Justice' Audrey raised a hand to lightly cover her mouth, momentarily unsure what expression to make.

Sitting beside her, 'The Magician' Forsyth's expression was similarly stiff, but soon she became excited. This is excellent writing material; I have a feeling that writing a novel of this kind might sell even better than *Storm Mountain Villa*.

'The Hermit' Jadelya glanced at Rex with some shock, as if saying: Why are you thinking of this?

'The Hanged Man' A'erjie stared for a moment, then spat out a word in his heart: 'Boring.'

Such thinking is still too ahead of its time for people in this world. No, no, even on Earth this idea is overly ahead of its time; Klein silently complained while thinking about how to expand the next topic.

We must not let this guy corrupt the pure hearts of the tarot gathering companions.

Cough cough!

'The Moon' Emlyn gave a light cough, drawing everyone's gaze.

He did not know that Disease Brigadier General Thuris was a witch, nor was he interested in a captured fallen noble; after everyone fell into a strange silence, he could not wait to clear his throat and speak:

"I have carefully studied the history passed down in our bloodline. Before the great catastrophe, there was no Silver City, only the Silver Kingdom!"

After observing the reaction of 'The Sun' Derrick, he clicked his tongue and continued:

"The Silver Kingdom originally did not worship the Giant King Ormiel, but rather His queen, Amaybeira."

"Amaybeira?" 'The Sun' Derrick blurted out doubtfully: "Our Silver City has no record of this, nor any record of the Giant Queen being called Amaybeira."

Before Emlyn could smugly mock the little sun, Rex pondered aloud:

"Amaybeira is called the Harvest Goddess; she later became the true god of this pathway, the Earth Mother Goddess!"

"Mother Earth Mother Goddess?"

'The Moon' Emlyn widened his eyes, looking at Rex with some difficulty accepting. "You were just going to say mother goddess, right? This vampire is already close to believing in the Earth Mother Goddess from the heart," Klein silently complained, and his attention was quickly drawn to the name Harvest Goddess.

"The false Harvest Goddess' mysterious manifestation being effective shows that the former Harvest Goddess, now the Earth Mother Goddess, is being impersonated by some entity! This is one of the Seven Gods!"

No wonder he always uses Sun pathway supernatural abilities when fighting; this kind of mysterious manifestation, before even being used, would be directly struck by divine punishment.

Klein pondered for a moment, seeing that everyone no longer intended to continue exchanging information, he chuckled and said:

"Everyone, see you next week."

"As you wish."

Under the leadership of 'Justice' Audrey, everyone immediately rose and saluted.

Strands of crimson light rose, and everyone's figures vanished entirely within this grand ancient palace.

In the room of the Byram Inn, Rex lay half-reclined in an armchair with his eyes closed.

After a moment, his eyes slowly opened, and a hint of crimson light faded in his pupils.

Just as he regained his senses, he felt his spirituality stirred; following his intuition, he turned his head to the small round table beside him, where a pale yellow sheet of paper lay quietly, with a half-orange, half-red Tenera fruit pressed upon it.

He slightly raised his arm, rose from the armchair, gazed out the window at the clear sky, and casually said, "Whose letter is this?"

Tu Ba Ge, sprawled on the sofa flipping through a botanical encyclopedia, answered without lifting his head: "That idiot pirate captain said the Blood Pirate Crew has been taken over again, by someone calling themselves the Scarlet Queen."

Queen? Is she comparing herself to the Pirate King? At least she is a Sequence 4 Beyonder. The Rose School—this is worrying about a recurrence of past events—a demigod; the Rose School's move is so big, aren't they afraid of provoking reactions from all factions? While thinking, he had already walked to the small round table, tossed the Tenera fruit pressed on the paper to Tu Ba Ge, then picked up the paper and read carefully: "The Golden Dream's outpost in the Suniya Sea has received news: the Blood Admiral's pirate crew has been regrouped, belonging to a Beyonder who calls herself the Scarlet Queen; she has also reclaimed some scattered pirates, forming a team larger than the previous Blood Pirate Crew."

"It is said that merely being gazed upon by her brings a curse; she can easily heavily damage or even destroy any creature she sees, she is adept at dark-type spells, and that's all the information that has circulated. I think she might not be a Beyonder of the Aberrant pathway."

"A group of Nagas came to the Golden Dream; they call themselves servants of the gods, and they earnestly learn various common knowledge from me, although their learning aptitude is not even up to that of most of the Golden Dream's crew."

"The studious Naga Wajie·Weir is attempting to make the Nagas change some habits, to become a race that loves learning and loves knowledge? That probably isn't easy."

Just as he felt a sigh, Rex's eyes suddenly became deep and unfocused, his vision a blank expanse.

In his mind, a series of images surfaced:

That was a group of sea monsters seriously reading books on reefs in the sea, including fish-people, Nagas, and also sea serpents, mermaids, etc., basically encompassing all intelligent marine species; the scene quickly shifted to a large ship reflecting golden light under the sun, its deck gathered with a large group of people, Edwina standing at the forefront, in front of a small blackboard, explaining something; the scene shifted again: there was an owl wearing glasses, a black cat holding a pen in its mouth, a goat with a calm and steady posture, and a rabbit with eyes on its body standing before them, Tu Ba Ge raising a staff, striking a small blackboard taller than himself. After a moment of blankness, Rex's eyes cleared again; he gave a complex glance at Tu Ba Ge still sprawled on the sofa flipping through the botanical encyclopedia, really unable to overlay that image from his earlier vision onto him.

"What does this prophecy mean? The spread of knowledge should not be limited to humans, but to all intelligent beings, including but not limited to sea monsters and bizarre spiritual entities? This is not a prophecy, but more like an alternative revelation or oracle." Rex frowned, pondered for a moment, then chuckled and shook his head, setting aside this little interlude, and walked toward his bedroom, which had a desk and a pen.
