Chapter 374: Action Begins
When Ke Lai En and the prophet's avatar fell silent over how to connect the Spiritual Realm with the Mirror World, Azuk, sitting beside them, spoke gently:
"I have some knowledge in this area."
"Each gatekeeper can sense the entrance to the Netherworld and construct a door where the Spiritual Realm overlaps the Netherworld. With detailed coordinates, I can also construct a door where the Spiritual Realm overlaps the Mirror World."
The prophet's avatar rested his head against the chair back, reached up to adjust the glasses on his nose, and said:
"Then there is no problem."
Speaking, he turned his gaze to the foremost Ke Lai En and said, "Act quickly. Even with this gray mist's aid, with your current Sequence Six bodily strength, it is hard to endure overly powerful force."
Ke Lai En gave a slight nod and then asked:
"Do we need to inform the mysterious queen? She is also in the Luo Si De Sea."
The prophet's avatar shook his head lightly and said:
"No need. If help is truly required, she should be able to sense it."
Ke Lai En gave a noncommittal nod, let his spirit spread, touched the deep red star representing An Ge Er Wei De, and directly transmitted the coordinates in the Spiritual Realm of the ruin where Ka Wei Tu Wa had hidden.
Having done all that, he leaned against the chair back, closed his eyes to meditate, and adjusted his condition to the optimum.
A moment later, he opened his eyes again, looked around, took a deep breath and said, "Let's begin."
As he spoke, he already extended his left hand to grasp the strange crown stained with blood and rust, squinted at it for a moment, then infused his spirit into it.
"Spiritual Communication" unfolded among them; the three instantly shared minds, becoming as one.
Ke Lai En felt his power swelling rapidly, each moment a qualitative boost; he even sensed that his casually created air cannon could now reach the sonic blast level wielded by the Sea King.
The illusion of rapid power swelling, however, came from a half‑god and a weakened angel simultaneously transmitting power to me; I should now be infinitely close to the angelic tier, right?
While pondering, Ke Lai En saw another ripple behind the prophet's avatar, a ring formed of countless gears, and heard a voice praying to him: "Patron of Knowledge and Mystery, Sage from the Unknown, Eye that Peeks at Truth, Disaster of the Luo Si De Archipelago, Great Al Tai En Si!"
In the state of "Spiritual Communication", Ke Lai En and Azuk simultaneously sensed a strange link emerging, followed the automatic response of the revered name, and directly pinpointed the location where Lei Ke Dun, in statue form, stood.
Azuk turned his head toward Ke Lai En, saw him nod, and transmitted all his power and stature to him.
Ke Lai En felt his power swell a few more degrees, as if breaking a limit; his spirit suddenly rose infinitely, and the space above this gray mist seemed to become part of him. He saw, at the deepest part of the gray mist, at the very top, a light gate; inside, a hiss— a sharp burning sting on his hand came. He snapped back to awareness and looked at the strange crown he held in his left hand.
The rust on it had vanished, the mottled bloodstains turned into crimson flames that leapt continuously, as if cheering, shouting, and clamoring, driving Ke Lai En's emotions into uncontrollable excitement, making him hot‑blooded, exhilarated, a boiling battle spirit surging in his heart.
In an instant, a death‑like coldness and absolute reason seized the high ground of his mind, restoring his emotions to calm.
"Begin. Your body is already showing necrotic tendencies; if you delay further, it will be irreversible."
Azuk's voice sounded gently beside his ear, and Ke Lai En only then noticed his arm had become excessively pallid, with faint corpse spots beginning to appear.
I'm still too weak, even enduring this power is so difficult. As the thought flickered, he casually summoned a paper figure from the clutter and flung it out.
The paper figure twisted and expanded in midair; behind it, white feathers woven with mysterious patterns appeared, quickly clustering into pairs of wings cloaked in pale flames— twelve pairs in total. The paper‑angel, bearing the pale fire, plunged into the gray mist, descending toward the depths of the Spiritual Realm, to the place where the ancient elf ruin that Ka Wei Tu Wa once hid lay.
Ke Lai En lowered his gaze slightly, looking toward the boundless gray mist ahead, as if confirming something.
A moment later, he extended both palms forward forcefully, as if pushing open a non‑existent door.
The paper‑angel in the Spiritual Realm performed the same action in sync; in front of it, invisible forces surged and gathered.
In an instant, a bronze‑colored door covered with mysterious, indescribable patterns appeared ahead, shaking, creaking, and slowly opening backward.
Behind this door, a dim, illusory, unreal road seemed to connect with countless things and layered spaces, together weaving a deep, bizarre world unlike reality.
As the door opened, the Mirror World and the Spiritual Realm overlapped here, causing no ripple; the calm was as if nothing had happened.
Though clearly a bizarre door imbued with strong death overtones, at this moment it seemed quite harmonious, as if it belonged here; upon seeing it, one instinctively wanted to step inside.
Within the ancient palace above the gray mist, after linking the Mirror World with the Spiritual Realm and seeing An Ge Er Wei De's hidden figure, Ke Lai En directly tossed the crown ablaze with crimson flame from his hand.
He, weak, leaned against the high‑back chair, panting heavily; after a long while, he finally spoke:
"The great swings of power are truly painful; I suddenly find it hard to accept this weak self now."
"This is the real you; don't be fooled by the power we transmit to you, as it will affect your mental state, and for an extraordinary being constantly accompanied by madness, that is dangerous."
Azuk said in a warning tone.
Ke Lai En smiled lightly, nodded, and said, "I know. It's just the sudden drop in power that brought a wave of weakness; I'm much better now."
While speaking, he lifted his left hand before his eyes; the arm that had been pallid to the point of translucence, with some swelling and corpse spots, had already returned to normal.
Above this gray mist, even if I die, I can revive the next moment; the suffering still remains, though it would be nice to be immune to pain.
After resting a while, feeling his body largely recovered, Ke Lai En gently raised his hand, pried at the gray mist's power, and, through the lingering aura and influence of the paper‑angel, directly cast his gaze there.
Within the surrounding gray mist, deep crimson light suddenly rose, swiftly coalescing into the scene Ke Lai En saw.
In the dim, illusory Mirror World, a gray‑white statue was bound by invisible threads, being pulled forward.
In front of the gray‑white statue, two figures—one black, one white—stood; they were extremely beautiful women, whose appearance and aura were undeniably perfect.
The lady on the left wore a simple, pure white robe, her glossy jet‑black hair loosely draped, drifting idly in the windless Mirror World.
Each strand of her hair was linked to an invisible transparent filament, these filaments nearly wrapping the gray‑white statue into a transparent cocoon.
Beside her stood another beautiful woman in a black court gown; her jet‑black hair was neatly coiled, though a few strands were omitted, naturally hanging, adding a hint of allure to her solemnity; her red lips were slightly upturned, evoking pity.
Their appearances differed, yet they shared a common trait: from them one could perceive the charm of women at every age, and any creature, regardless of preference, would sincerely acknowledge their beauty.
