Chapter 405: The Honest Hall 1

~7 min read 1,214 words

Lei Kedun glanced aside, his thoughts not only drifted to Leonard, and as soon as the idea surfaced, his voice echoed around:

"This hall directly displays the inner thoughts of the living beings around it."

"It's perfect for playing Truth or Dare."

"I wonder what effect it will have to lure A Meng here."

Ke Laien turned his head toward Lei Kedun, and before he could speak, his voice already echoed around: "Truth or Dare? I recommend A Luodesi."

"Luring A Meng? Today's youth are more and more arrogant!"

A slightly hoary voice overlapped with Ke Laien's thoughts and echoed.

"The old man inside Leonard? He also

The idea just surfaced, and Ke Laien was stunned; more thoughts couldn't help but spread: "Uh, can I still withdraw now?"

"Calm down, calm down, don't overthink!"

Leonard looked puzzled toward the Ke Laien behind him:

"He knows me? Who is he? Why do I have no recollection?"

"Being so afraid of me finding out, could he be a wanted fugitive from the Church?"

Ao Daili's voice also echoed: "Mr. World knows this Mr. Nightmare? How curious."

"No, no, I'm not curious at all, I just..."

Ao Daili quickly employed her psychologist ability, soothing her emotions, and the swirling thoughts in her mind instantly settled.

"The psychologist ability is still very useful. Uh."

Ao Daili made a hand-over-mouth gesture, applying another "soothing" to herself.

"I'm also curious—whether they're hidden enemies or friends who can't recognize each other due to an accident."

"Um, I'm just brainstorming a novel plot, please don't mind."

"Mr. World has become completely gloomy, how terrifying; he can't be some crazy cold-blooded assassin, can he?"

"Calm down, calm down, can't keep thinking."

Fo Ersi closed his eyes, took a deep breath, quickly relaxed his spirit, erasing the constantly drifting thoughts.

"Do I look that terrifying? You two, don't come harassing my character!"

Ke Laien couldn't help but mutter another comment in his mind, his thought instantly turning into a voice that echoed around the hall.

Lei Kedun, beside them, made a belly‑laugh gesture; before he could gather his thoughts, his voice already echoed:

"Hahaha, this is so funny, calling them all here was definitely the right move~"

"This hall is a fountain of joy; the madness from the Hidden Sage has greatly amplified my humanity under pressure."

"Humanity?"

"Hidden Sage?"

"Mr. White Tower deliberately summoned us here?"

"This guy's condition is indeed problematic, and besides, I'm not happy at all!"

"Somewhat interesting~"

Everyone's inner voice echoed in the hall simultaneously, and even Pa Liesi couldn't help but sigh in his mind.

Lei Kedun's eyes flashed with a deep‑blue gleam, all thoughts in his mind instantly settled, and he began stepping toward the hall's depths.

A moment later, his thoughts scattered again:

"Since An Ge Erweide's scales arrived here, they've vanished; that old dragon couldn't have stealthily descended into this mental realm, could it?"

"Impossible. The returning one is only a Sequence Two Insight, unable to slip past my eyes easily."

Pa Liesi's hoary voice echoed in response.

"The old one is quite confident; it should be a Sequence One Thief."

"A Meng should only lack the trait of the Time Worm. Uh. I said nothing."

Ke Laien suddenly halted, reining in his thoughts. Pa Liesi's voice already echoed around: "Hmph! Today's youth have no respect for elders or love for the young at all."

"The Sequence One path of the Thief is called Time Worm? What a strange name."

Ao Daili muttered a slightly puzzled remark in her mind, and her voice instantly echoed through the hall.

She fell silent for a moment, then her voice echoed again: "Communicating here is convenient, perhaps a bit too convenient."

"Exactly, it's overly convenient; I don't even dare to let my mind wander."

Fo Ersi's voice, not echoing around, continued Ao Daili's words.

"Perhaps this place facilitates communication among giant dragons, or it is a spot where An Ge Erweide treats other dragons' psychological issues."

As voices echoed, Lei Kedun reached the hall's center, attempted meditation, and around the hall suddenly appeared numerous brass‑colored interlocking gears and pulling chains.

They turned clockwise or counterclockwise, forming a precise mechanical interior, with one sparkling star after another emerging in the gaps, interlocking into a cold, indifferent eye containing countless stars.

After a moment, the surrounding scene vanished, and Lei Kedun's voice echoed again: "This hall seems to aid meditation; it's easy to sketch one's meditation pattern in the mind."

"It can do that?" Ke Laien's voice echoed, then he tried closing his eyes and began meditating.

The hall's surroundings suddenly lit up with one star after another, densely packed and dazzling.

"Is this the pattern Mr. World sees while meditating? So beautiful!"

"Uh, I didn't mean to, no, I really am praising you, Mr. World."

Ao Daili, unaccustomed, tried to rescue herself from the earlier exclamation in her mind.

"Why can't I imagine such a beautiful starry sky? Do I truly lack the talent a writer should have?"

Fo Ersi's voice, tinged with self‑doubt, echoed around.

Leonard's voice also resonated then: "No way, being with this crowd, I can't rein in my thoughts at all."

"That's clearly your own problem; don't blame everything on others."

Klein was very adept at silently cursing Leonard in his heart, and his inner voice also echoed at the same time.

Leonard looked somewhat suspiciously at Klein on his left, and the hall already echoed his inner voice.

"Who the hell is this guy? He seems very familiar to me; I definitely know him!"

"Stop guessing, you couldn't possibly guess it."

Klein subconsciously answered Leonard's words in his heart, he paused, then forcibly diverted his train of thought.

"Can't think about it anymore, calm, calm—why did I agree to come explore the book world back then? I should have divined beforehand before deciding."

"Exactly, why did I agree without thinking back then? Did that guy influence my judgment while speaking?"

Rekton turned his head and glanced at the belatedly aware Klein; before he could speak, his voice already echoed.

"Back then my luck was relatively good; whatever I wanted to do would naturally succeed."

"\"Probability Dice! \" Klein's mind subconsciously flashed a thought."

"\"Probability Dice? What is that? \""

Audrey and Foerth's voices echoed simultaneously around.

"\"One die that can make people lucky, ladies and gentlemen, let's take a look at the mural. \""

"\"Stop talking over each other, I feel you could keep playing until next year; just treat that last sentence as if you didn't hear it. \""

Rekton felt slightly uncomfortable and shook his head, his gaze falling on the mural at the deepest part of the hall.

The mural depicts many dragons; the most conspicuous and tallest is a gray-white dragon overlooking the entire sky.

Its eyes are pale gold, pupils vertical, lacking much emotion, likewise no trace of madness, more like a calm, wise sage.

Beneath this dragon, several other dragons of different forms coil and gather; further down, there are some blurrier silhouettes.

What most attracted Rekton was the position beneath the right wing of the 'Imaginary Dragon' Angulweide; there only a faint trace remains, as if a dragon should have been there originally, but for some reason it has been blurred into nothing but a silvery-white all-seeing eye.
