Chapter 421: Niuins

~7 min read 1,300 words

Xia did not reply to Phoenix's words; instead she turned her head toward the Prophet's avatar and said in an even tone:

"Sir Prophet, who has mastered the higher‑level occult knowledge of the Fate Realm, what is your view on this?"

The Prophet's avatar lowered his gaze, a silvery white sheen appearing; his eyes suddenly deepened and lost their focus.

A scene quickly rose in his mind: a massive pirate ship floating on the sea, a bronze‑colored door covered with indescribable mysterious patterns standing on the deck, countless undead pouring out and battling the ship's pirates.

Inside the cabin, golden liquid flowed everywhere like melted gold, wailing and struggling as if it were a living creature.

The scene flipped rapidly, becoming extremely vague; only a female silhouette could be seen crawling out of the bronze door. The Prophet's avatar's eyes cleared quickly, he furrowed his brows, and the final image he saw left him puzzled.

He looked up at Phoenix and Xia, who were staring at him, and, after a pause, said:

"No problem. After dawn passes, there shouldn't be any night‑owls among the pirates."

"It would be best to come and go quickly; once my presence is exposed, it could attract the Storm Church's scrutiny and attack."

Xia changed from her lazy posture, looked at the Prophet's avatar with great curiosity, and asked:

"I'm curious—couldn't the person who stole the Sea Wave Church together with A Meng be you?"

"You know A Meng?" the Prophet's avatar asked back curiously.

"Ha, that's not a secret. The Knowledge Church has recorded almost all information in this world; however, due to confidentiality levels, most members don't know everything."

Xia swayed the wineglass, which held little wine, and laughed lightly as she said.

"Everyone, do you mind if I join your discussion?"

A resonant voice rang out, and a figure with a hint of a smile burst straight through the invisible barrier Xia had created.

"No problem," Phoenix replied coldly, his gaze unfriendly as he stared at the sudden intruder.

The Prophet's avatar turned his head toward the other, the fellow with whom he had previously clinked glasses across space; after a moment's pause, he smiled lightly and said:

"I don't know, Mr. Hunter, what is your name?"

"How did you know I'm a hunter? Because of my hair color?"

The man opposite, dressed in hunting gear, lifted his slightly brown eyebrows and asked back curiously.

"You possess the bearing of a seasoned hunter."

The Prophet's avatar smiled lightly in response.

"The bearing of a seasoned hunter?" the man on the opposite side showed his doubt on his face.

"Hunters who have passed the Provoker stage always become punch‑worthy."

The man in front seemed not to have expected such a reply; after a brief stunned moment, he laughed lightly as if something amusing had occurred and said:

"You seem to know hunters quite well."

"My name is A Bu Si·Mei Di Qi, and I am currently adventuring at sea."

"Medici, were you living in Bansi before?"

The Prophet's avatar sighed, then asked curiously.

A Bu Si·Mei Di Qi's eyes flickered, a curious expression appearing, and he said:

"Why ask that? But indeed I was born in Bansi."

"Are you always this honest when talking to others? You don't seem like a conspirator at all."

The Prophet's avatar spoke with a sigh; the aura around A Bu Si·Mei Di Qi contracted, and he could not accurately discern the other's rank, only guessing based on a prophet's intuition.

"Lying before a remarkable who can easily see through deception is meaningless; staying honest actually shows more sincerity, doesn't it?" A Bu Si·Mei Di Qi said conversationally, without refuting the accusation of being a conspirator.

Looking at this descendant of the Medici family, the Prophet's avatar felt his inspiration stir and said after a pause:

"In Bansi Port, is the weather deity worshipped by your Medici clan also a family member, or an embodied trait?"

"Hm? Why do you think it is an embodied trait?"

A Bu Si·Mei Di Qi was momentarily stunned, apparently not expecting the other to know so much about the Medici family and to ask so directly.

"Just asking casually."

The Prophet's avatar brushed off with a casual remark, then turned his head toward Phoenix and Xia, smiling lightly and said:

"I'll go take a walk outside; just let me know when you're ready."

Having said that, he stood up and left the tavern.

A Bu Si·Mei Di Qi reached to touch his slightly sallow eyebrows, curled his lips, and followed out.

When he stepped out of the tavern, the Prophet's avatar was already out of sight; he gave a helpless smirk and whispered:

"I thought the ancestor would make the person I'm searching for extremely troublesome, yet I ran into them just after setting foot on Niuins Island."

"Although he showed no sign of pressure, my hunter's intuition kept reminding me that this is not a target one can hunt."

He whispered two sentences, then chose a random direction and hurried away.

A moment later, a pale violet, cold and indifferent eye faintly appeared on the gaslamp post opposite the tavern; its color quickly faded as if being erased repeatedly with an eraser.

Around three A. M., the Prophet's avatar followed a nature spirit through the dock; the dock was small, so he spent little time and soon reunited with Phoenix and Xia near the clock tower.

A massive white bone arm emerged from the ground, followed by a skull engulfed in dim green flame, then the whole body. The gigantic skeletal skeleton crawled up from the earth, and when it stood upright it was about the height of a three‑story building.

The Prophet's avatar calmly scanned the massive skeleton, noting its strength near Rank Five, and that a giant's path lay ahead.

Then he saw the skeleton, at Phoenix's signal, grab his shoulder with one hand and Xia's with the other; their figures quickly lost color, became transparent, and entered the spirit realm.

Blue‑white radiance swirled in the Prophet's avatar's eyes as he simulated the astronomer's extraordinary ability, breaking his body into countless shimmering starlights that surged like a tide into the spirit realm.

In the vividly flamboyant spirit realm, the Prophet's avatar's form coalesced from the scattered starlight; his eyes flashed with a hint of silver, but after a moment they cleared again.

He turned his head toward the massive skeleton supporting Phoenix and Xia, laughed lightly and said:

"This way."

As soon as his words ended, a solidified deep‑blue stellar glow materialized beside him, enveloping his figure and propelling it swiftly forward.

Near a turbulent sea, an ancient‑looking, dark‑hued, massive three‑mast ship, as if long soaked by seawater, was moored here; its billowing sails bore a huge sea monster with twisted tentacles—a flagship of the deep sea, the Niuins!

Under the scarlet moonlight, a vague massive shadow could be seen moving back and forth beneath the sea surface, like a giant sea monster lying in wait.

The next moment, a faint spiritual fluctuation surfaced at the bow, and specks of brilliant starlight surged forth from the Spirit Realm, once again coalescing into the figure of the Diviner's avatar.

The moment the figure appeared, he pulled a scroll made of grayish-brown hide from his robes and murmured a Dragon-language word:

"Concealment!"

As the scroll in his hand activated, a layer of tranquil night silently enveloped the pirate ship.

The crimson moonlight in the sky seemed to dim for an instant, and the wailing sea wind abruptly fell silent.

The next moment, two enormous bone arms reached out from the void behind him, set Phoenix and Thea onto the deck, and rather than withdrawing, the massive bone arms directly pulled their entire body out from the Spirit Realm.
