Chapter 550: Harmony Coexistence

~9 min read 1,608 words

After striking a deal with Miss Justice, Kelei En continued to manipulate the World, saying:

"I still have two traits here, namely 'Arsonist' and 'Sailor'; the former costs 1,200 pounds, the latter 300 pounds."

"'Arsonist' excels at extraordinary fire abilities; if forged into a magical item, it should have decent offensive power."

The following sentence is a supplement addressed to Justice Aodaili; the members of the Tarot Gathering, aside from this aristocratic miss, the pirate‑general "Hermit" Jiadeliya, and "White Tower" Leiketon who owns his own enterprise, are not very wealthy, so whenever he sells something he first wonders whether Miss Justice will buy it.

These two traits were his loot from the night he was attacked by the Rose School in Baiyam, obtained from two pirates entangled with the Storm Church's sealed objects.

At that time he and the other extraordinary beings around him were teleported in front of the Punisher Squad; after a clash erupted, he quickly broke free from the dream, using the secret companion Mìou Jierxi'aisi and a powerful magical item to hold the Punisher Squad at bay, and casually picked up the two extraordinary traits.

"Arsonist" sounds pretty good; having the ability to manipulate fire offensively largely compensates for the early weakness of the Spectator. My bank account balance this month is already low; although after reaching adulthood I can freely manage my own assets, that doesn't mean my money will increase—in fact, with my expenses my savings keep dwindling.

Hmm, I could ask A'erfulide for a loan; buying magical items is normal for an extraordinary being, and he's the only one in my family who knows I've become extraordinary, so borrowing from him at a time like this is natural.

Justice Aodaili thought for a moment, then turned her head toward the World at the far end of the bronze long table, raised her hand and said, "I want to purchase that 'Arsonist' trait."

After speaking, she turned her head toward Leiketon ahead of her, and, with a slightly hesitant tone, said:

"Mr. White Tower, are you still accepting commissions to forge magical items?"

Leiketon nodded lightly and said:

"Of course, you can state your requirements for the magical item; I have very professional 'craftsmen' here."

The Hanged Man A'erjie slightly turned his head to glance at Leiketon, his mind swirling with thoughts: professional 'craftsmen'? 'White Tower' has even cultivated his own craftsmen— is he building a personal faction? Does he want to break away from the Knowledge Church?

The professional 'craftsmen'. The Hermit Jiadeliya murmured to herself, not knowing why she instantly thought of her first mate Frank Li—what am I thinking, Frank can only…

Justice Aodaili rested both hands on her chin, thought briefly, and said:

"I want a conveniently portable magical item, something you might carry in daily life, with minimal side effects, preferably one that can be easily resolved."

"Hmm, just try to meet these conditions as best as possible; as long as the negative effects aren't too hard to tolerate, that's fine."

Leiketon nodded lightly, speaking calmly:

"No problem, that's simple; even if the forging fails, I can smash the item to recover the trait, try a few more times, and eventually succeed."

"Is this an Angel?" his tone was flat yet arrogant; just forging a magical item, and if it fails it can be remelted. Kelei En kept cursing himself in his mind while calmly scanning the room.

After a brief silence, he manipulated the World, cleared his throat lightly, and said:

"I have no more trades."

As soon as the World's words fell, the Hanged Man A'erjie, who had been waiting nearby, looked at the Hermit Jiadeliya and said:

"I want to know where there are Ogunis sea monsters not belonging to the Storm Church."

Storm Church members don't need to seek external help, unless he truly isn't a member of the Storm Church, or intends to leave it. After a brief thought, she calmly said:

"I'll inquire for you; once we have solid leads, we can discuss the price."

"Fine." A'erjie let out a silent sigh.

The scene fell silent again for a few seconds; Leiketon looked toward Jiadeliya ahead and said thoughtfully:

"Do you need my blood? Although I'm not an Angel of the Fate Path, for certain reasons I've interacted with a highly ranked entity of the Fate Path, leaving some traces on me, which can also help you ascend to a Prophecy Master more effectively."

"What must I give?" the Hermit Jiadeliya asked without hesitation.

Leiketon lifted his hand, forced a slight smile, and said, "You can listen to me finish before deciding."

"My blood not only can help you ascend to Prophecy Master more effectively, but if you obtain the corresponding trait, it also grants you an advantage in later sequences."

"This also carries negative effects, stemming from me; even though I suppress the instinct to assimilate things of the same path, you will still be drawn to me—in a sense, you could be considered my devotee."

"If you're undecided, you can seek help from Beiernadei; whether they refuse or agree makes no difference."

"I understand; I will give you an answer at next week's Tarot Gathering." the Hermit Jiadeliya nodded heavily, while doubts continued to rise in her mind.

"White Tower's" blood seems somewhat different; his description makes me feel it's like the blood of a True God of Sequence 0, and he harbors a great secret, perhaps involving some arrangements of the Hidden Sage.

At the far end of the mottled long table, Kelei En's figure shrouded in gray mist furrowed his brow subconsciously: this isn't the blood of a normal Angel; an Angel's rank can't achieve assimilation‑level control over same‑path entities, unless it's an Angel King like A Meng, which is possible; this seems more like Sequence 0's control over its own path.

He had previously begun to doubt his identity; after becoming an Angel, did he suffer a complete mental split? Or did he rediscover his true self, becoming an incarnation of a returned ancient god or evil deity?

Klein let out a soft sigh in his mind; he suddenly regretted not insisting that Mr. A'zi Ke also attend today's Tarot Gathering—if A'erjie suddenly went berserk, this Fool of mine couldn't stop him now.

The Tarot Gathering started off so high‑brow that I couldn't interject at all, and I even struggled to understand The Moon; Ai Mulin sighed inwardly, feeling that his sense of superiority as a member of the blood clan had completely vanished.

The Chariot Anderson turned his head to glance at Leiketon, wanting to ask the Iron‑blooded Knight about some demon‑elixir formulae, even if only a ritual, but considering his finances he reluctantly abandoned the plan, deciding to wait a while longer until I find some treasure, or some of the previous pirates.

Justice Aodaili scanned the surroundings; seeing no one speak, she raised her hand and said, "Everyone, does anyone know the demon‑elixir formula for the Spectator Path, Sequence 5, or any related information?"

The Hanged Man A'erjie chuckled lightly and said:

"You can go through the Psychic Alchemy Society's channels to obtain it from within; after all, you've just advanced, and you're not in a hurry for the next sequence's needs. Relying appropriately can increase their trust in you."

A'erjie's words gave Aodaili a sudden clarity; she smiled, nodded at him, and said:

"I understand, thank you, Mr. Hanged Man."

Then she looked around again and said, "I have no other requests for now."

The participants at the Tarot Gathering stared at each other in silence for a few seconds; the Fool Klein, seated at the far end of the mottled long table, tapped the table edge twice with his fingers and chuckled, "Feel free to converse."

The Hanged Man A'erjie scanned the crowd and, in an even tone, said:

"Some time ago, the pirates and adventurers hidden in the City of Generosity, Baiyam, suffered heavy blows from the Storm Church; most of them were imprisoned in underground cells, or turned into traits and magical items."

"Now, Baiyam has almost become a no‑go zone for pirates."

After a two‑second pause, he turned his head toward the World at the far end, and in a flat tone continued, "The Storm Church has recently been pursuing the mad adventurer Ge'erman Spalo, as well as the former crew of the 'Future' ship, the 'Arsonist' Al, who allegedly caused great chaos in Baiyam."

"Also, the 'Crimson Queen' who took over the 'Blood Pirates' under Seni Oer has been killed by the Storm Church, and her traits have been reclaimed."

"It is said she is a Sequence 4 'Witch King.'"

"'Witch King'—now the pirates have no news about Baiyam, yet the Hanged Man knows so quickly what occurred there; he must hold some position in the Storm Church," the Hermit Jiadeliya looked at A'erjie, not responding.

"Only traits reclaimed by the blood clan can be called 'recovery'!" The Moon Ai Mulin, somewhat displeased, corrected the Hanged Man's words.

The Chariot Anderson, curious, followed up: "Why did the Storm Church suddenly target pirates and adventurers, when they've coexisted harmoniously for so many years?"

"Harmony coexistence"—this is the first time I've heard someone describe the pirates' relationship with the Storm Church as 'harmonious coexistence'; to joke like that, this guy surely isn't a pirate. His earlier claim of being a treasure hunter— is it true? Famous treasure hunters on the sea are few, and his skill doesn't match that of an 'Ice Mountain General' crew member.

The Hanged Man A'erjie gave Anderson a vague look, his mind swirling, and he gently shook his head: "I don't know."
