Chapter 613: Communication
Above the gray mist, KeLaiEn, perched on the high‑backed chair belonging to the "Fool", radiated gloom, depression, loss, bewilderment and melancholy, looking uninterested in anything.
If it weren't for the gray mist, LeiKeDun would have no doubt that KeLaiEn would lose control; his earlier promotion to "Mysterious Mage" already left him in a poor state.
"Did you already know?"
KeLaiEn's tone was very certain; he didn't say what he knew, but trusted that LeiKeDun could understand what he meant.
LeiKeDun nodded, his voice calm, "If you're saying this is Earth, I knew that from the start."
At the head of the mottled long table, KeLaiEn swung between anger and confusion, then let out a long sigh, "Indeed, you were never hung up either."
"I should have thought of it long ago, but I kept refusing to admit it, subconsciously avoiding the question."
LeiKeDun lightly tapped the table edge with his right hand, producing a thudding sound; fragments of starlight spilled from his fingertips, radiating an invisible ripple that gradually soothed KeLaiEn's increasingly intense and extreme emotions.
After two seconds of silence, he lowered his voice and said:
"Time is a distance harder to cross than space, but once you wield the authority of history, you can at least gaze upon the past in the river of time. So, does that make you feel a bit better?"
Hoo~~ he exhaled a long breath, KeLaiEn stared at LeiKeDun expressionlessly, his tone flat as he asked:
"Besides me and LuoSaiEr, who else is a time‑traveler? Or who else is a remnant of the ancient era?"
"The two you know well," LeiKeDun curled his mouth and said:
"'Night Goddess' AManNiXiSi, and the 'Ancient Sun God'."
KeLaiEn widened his eyes in surprise; he indeed doubted the identity of the "Ancient Sun God", but hadn't expected that the "Night Goddess" he first encountered was also a time‑traveler.
He sank his thoughts and murmured:
"Goddess. No wonder."
"So, from the beginning, the goddess had noticed me?"
"If she hadn't intervened, you'd have already fallen to the ground and become a corpse."
LeiKeDun leaned half against the chair back, answering leisurely; he gave no concealment to KeLaiEn's doubts.
Neither spoke again; after a long silence, LeiKeDun leaned forward and sighed, "Time cannot be reversed. No matter how the world changes, we will ultimately move forward, and can only move forward."
"But before that, you need a psychologist."
"I've already made an appointment with Miss Justice," KeLaiEn said calmly, nodding.
LeiKeDun lightly nodded, shifting the topic; he reached into his coat pocket, pulled out the Defiling Card he had brought up to the gray mist, tossed it onto the table before KeLaiEn, and said, "Given by Medici, you can use it to play a costume‑change game."
KeLaiEn took the card, whispered the small text in the upper left corner, "Sequence 0: 'Red Priest'."
With spiritual infusion, the hidden information on the card also revealed itself:
"The Red Priest's ritual requires: to unleash a continent‑sweeping war, achieve sufficient victory, and in the sorrow and cheers of triumph, consume the demon elixir."
He recalled a page from LuoSaiEr's diary he had seen before, which speculated about the "Red Priest":
"'Red' refers to the red of war; 'priest' can be understood as the sacrificer of the essence of power."
"As long as the 'Red Priest' exists, it naturally influences those around, causing them to swell, evolve into violent conflict; if willing, this influence can also become pollution."
Placing the Red Priest card face‑down on the table before him, KeLaiEn leaned back in his chair and sighed, "Too bad it's not the Fool card."
LeiKeDun's body tilted slightly backward, his voice calm, "That Defiling Card is on the main peak of the HuoNaQiSiShanMai, likely drawn there by a holder who was attracted, but ultimately could not get out."
"HuoNaQiSiShanMai—what's there? It shouldn't be just the birthplace of the Antigonus family you once mentioned, right?"
KeLaiEn whispered a line, then followed up with a question.
LeiKeDun gave no concealment, speaking plainly:
"Half a 'Fool'—the Antigonus went mad, sealed there by the Night Goddess."
"Half a 'Fool'." KeLaiEn's already poor complexion stiffened, faintly showing transparent worms writhing under his skin.
After a while, he tugged at the corner of his mouth, chuckled lightly, "Being called half a 'Fool' means He has already surpassed a typical Angel King, mastering uniqueness and a double or triple sequence‑one extraordinary trait?" LeiKeDun nodded calmly:
"Two, but now He only retains one 'Mysterious Secret' servant trait; the other has been taken by Charatu."
"I see." KeLaiEn nodded lightly, exhaled a long breath, his tone and emotion extremely restrained as he asked the next topic, "Can you tell me what happened before, when I was hunting YinSiZanGeWeiEr, what occurred?"
LeiKeDun scrutinized KeLaiEn deeply; his mental state slipped further, looking as if he might at any moment lose his human form, collapsing into a mass of writhing worms.
Starlight speckled from his fingertips, carrying soothing and purifying effects, echoing through the ancient, grand palace above the gray mist.
KeLaiEn remained seated on the high‑backed chair, letting the starlight slide over him, dispersing his accumulated emotions.
Feeling his condition improve a bit, KeLaiEn raised his hand, his voice calm as he said:
"I won't lose control so quickly; although my mind isn't great, my self‑control is clearer now."
"Well, I should say, since my mind went awry, I feel more spirited overall."
"When you say that, you should look in a mirror; the spirit worms under your skin can't stay hidden any longer."
LeiKeDun sighed, paused, no longer tangled in the topic, lazily leaning against the chair back, and began recounting the grand drama he and the True Creator had plotted:
"When you were hunting Yin·Zangweier, I, AiRuiHuoGe, um, that's AnGeErWeiDe's current identity, I, He, and WuLuoLiuSi were battling the A Meng brothers for 0-08."
At the end, LeiKeDun pressed his somewhat dry lips, leaned slightly forward, his voice unable to hide excitement, "The final result was that the 'Lord of the Storm' deity descended, the obstruction failed, the True Creator broke free from the seal of the God‑Abandoned Land, descended upon the Southern Continent, Adam merged with the True Creator through self‑sacrifice, and fell into slumber; this world's best psychologist must treat his own psyche in a dream."
"Self‑treating psychologist?" KeLaiEn let out a light sigh, then continued, "Adam isn't the child of the Ancient Sun God, but a persona split off by the Dreamer's ability, a resurrected backup, just as AnGeErWeiDe left AiRuiHuoGe behind?"
"No wonder He is an Imaginary Angel; when I saw AnGeErWeiDe I should have thought of this."
KeLaiEn exhaled a long breath, looked down at the golden‑shell pocket watch he had manifested, and smiled at LeiKeDun:
"Let's stop here for today; it's time for my appointment with Miss Justice for therapy."
LeiKeDun nodded calmly, deep crimson light rose around him, dissolving his body and carrying his spirit away from the space above the gray mist.
Scanning the empty hall, KeLaiEn rose from his seat, manifested a small room on the side of the hall separated by a wooden board, intended for Miss Justice to treat his psyche.
After sitting on the other side of the small room, KeLaiEn raised his hand, summoned the already‑scheduled Miss Justice, Odaira, into the gray mist.
In the outskirts manor of Pas, LeiKeDun stepped out of the spirit realm, happened to see Anderson standing before the bathroom mirror, holding a pitch‑black, lightless short blade, gesturing at his own abdomen.
Locking eyes with Anderson for two seconds, LeiKeDun expressionlessly nodded and said:
"After you kill yourself, remember to clean the blood, don't dirty my bathroom."
Andesen's mouth corner twitched twice, he made a somewhat speechless retort: "If I've already committed suicide, how could I still clean up the bloodstains? Become a living corpse or a vengeful spirit shade?"
"If you don't mind corpse transformation, I can help you."
Lei Kedun nodded, and while speaking, he threw the miniaturized strange helmet wrapped in transparent amber from his hand toward Andesen, and at the same time said: "This is the trait of the Iron Blood Knight; you only need to complete the advancement, and you can absorb the excess part of that trait within your body through your own status."
"You can see it?" Andesen lowered his head to look at his own lower abdomen, then raised his eyes to look at Lei Kedun.
"Yeah, it's been almost two months." Lei Kedun lightly nodded, made a joke.
Andesen was speechless for a moment, only uttering: "This isn't pregnancy."
Lei Kedun nodded indifferently, turned and walked toward the direction of the manor hall; in the process, a translucent, headless, paper-thin undead creature burst out from under the floor, leading the way for Lei Kedun like a personal maid.
Following this undead maid behind, they arrived all the way at the guest hall located at the side of the hall, and Lei Kedun saw a woman wearing the black night church clergy's long robe.
She looked about thirty years old, well-maintained, the skin on her face still had a luster, her hair was dark bluish-black, and she wore relatively heavy eyeshadow, as if to cover up nonexistent dark circles.
Seeing Lei Kedun approach, she rose to her feet, tapped her chest four times, drawing the shape of a Crimson Moon, and greeted him gently:
Good morning, Mr. Tainsi, I am Yiliya, the High Executor of the Black Night Church responsible for South Continental affairs.
