Chapter 621: May Day Happiness (Extra Chapter)

~8 min read 1,407 words

Luo Sai'er waved his hand indifferently and said:

"You can't possibly let an old man like me run around on the sea by myself, can you? How dangerous would that be?"

"Moreover, the fact that the desk is piled with so many documents shows you never even considered dealing with them."

As he spoke, he walked onto the deck, approached the high‑backed chair near the cabin, and seemed to hesitate whether to sit down.

He hoped that after Bishop Luca's promotion, he wouldn't be too surprised to see the untouched files in the lounge; moreover, after becoming a "Weaver of Dreams" he could split off an identity to share his workload. As the idea drifted, Leikdun gradually persuaded himself.

The next second, the surrounding scenery swirled rapidly; although no one moved, the environment shifted swiftly from the deck into the cabin.

A heavy, authoritative voice echoed through the cabin: "You, are you really Emperor Luo?"

Leikdun's gaze fixed on the figure seated on the high‑backed chair atop the platform ahead, a deep pale violet flickering in his eyes.

A commanding figure lounged in the dark high‑backed chair, a proportionally miniaturized spire crown atop his head, a long robe of black with silver trim, a hard‑lined face with faint forehead wrinkles, a short black beard on his chin, standing about 1.9 meters tall, exuding great authority.

His aura was unmistakable; anyone who had seen him would never doubt his identity—one of the Four Pirate Kings, the acknowledged Pirate King, the most renowned strongman on the seas! The "King of the Five Seas" Naste's deep black eyes shimmered with a dark red glow, his gaze carrying a hint of disbelief as he calmly stared at Luo Sai'er below. A profound authority radiated from him, making the cabin air feel viscous, as if breathing became difficult.

The crew of the Black Emperor inside the cabin, as well as the second mate Bode Masten who had been shifted in together with Leikdun and Luo Sai'er, involuntarily bowed their heads, their chests heaving violently as they gulped the cabin air to ease their suffocation.

As a mechanical automaton, Luo Sai'er completely ignored the pressure and stifling air from the "King of the Five Seas" Naste; he stepped forward two paces, lifted his head, and met Naste's gaze.

After a second, he suddenly laughed in a daze, then said:

"As your guest, won't you invite us to sit down, Naste?"

"Please sit." Naste lifted his hand; his words carried an indescribable authority that made people instinctively want to obey.

However, that authority had no effect on Leikdun and Luo Sai'er; the two, unfazed, each found a chair and sat down.

The cabin fell silent for two seconds, and Naste looked at Luo Sai'er in a deep voice:

"A mechanical automaton that contains the traits of a 'Fallen Count' should, in theory, not be able to ignore my influence so easily."

He closed his eyes, as if sensing something, and after a moment continued:

"There is something about you that instinctively gives me a shiver."

Luo Sai'er gave no answer to Naste's puzzlement; he leaned back against the chair, his tone boasting as he said:

"Beiernadai has already been promoted to 'Sage'; when do you plan to become a duke?"

"In fact, without external pressure, I think staying at Sequence Three is the best choice; at this stage, the extraordinary possess various anomalies, a lifespan far beyond ordinary people, yet they haven't reached the point of qualitative change. They aren't heavily affected by demonic elixirs or the top of the sequence, and they won't actively or passively choose a faction."

Luo Sai'er babbled on, sounding like an old father trying hard to brag about his daughter, yet also like an elder admonishing a junior.

Aside from the crew of the Black Emperor, their faces were not good; Luo Sai'er's earlier words seemed to mock Naste, mocking that he still hadn't advanced to Sequence Two to become an angel active over the Five Seas.

"He's a bit punchable; this guy calling me over probably isn't to make me his bodyguard, right?" Leikdun's thoughts kept swirling, then his gaze calmly scanned the expression of the "King of the Five Seas" Naste.

Seated high, Naste said in an even tone, "Having lived through the Solomon Empire era, the 'Black Emperor' path no longer has any living mythic beings; the remaining traits have either become sealed objects or belong to the angels of the Tu Duo and Te Lunsuoste families."

"So you need some help, allies with the strength to hunt angels for you."

Luo Sai'er chuckled lightly, looking at Naste's dark‑red‑glowing eyes, seemingly confident the other would not refuse.

Naste slowly shook his head, "That's not enough; you need a reason that can persuade me."

"As you just said, I'm not in a hurry to advance to Sequence Two; I still have enough lifespan to patiently wait for the right moment."

Luo Sai'er lifted his neck, exhaled a long stream of foul breath, and said in an unusually flat tone:

"No, you have enough lifespan to wait, but this world may not have enough time; only by becoming an angel can you protect yourself and those you wish to protect when the end of the Fifth Era arrives."

"... because of the apocalypse?" Naste's tone showed hesitation; regarding the so‑called apocalypse, he knew little, only having heard firm descriptions from saints of many churches during past exchanges.

He paused, then continued, "All major churches have statements about the apocalypse, yet few details; they merely claim that when the apocalypse comes, the deity they worship will become this world's savior. Stripping away the unreasonable parts, I'm curious about the cause of the apocalypse—something no church or secret organization mentions."

Luo Sai'er shook his head, his voice calm, "Before you become a duke, merely knowing this information would cause contamination."

"No wonder," he murmured softly; Naste quickly steadied his emotions and chuckled, "

"How do you intend to cooperate?"

Leikdun looked at Luo Sai'er with curiosity; he too wondered what the other intended to cooperate with the "King of the Five Seas" on.

Luo Sai'er scanned the cabin, his gaze landing on Leikdun; he nodded at him and said, "Provide a concealment, and also make the crew forget we were ever here."

"Sure." Leikdun gave a faint nod, snapped his fingers; dark golden patterns resembling dense scales surfaced on the mechanical glove on his right hand, his eyes turning a pale gold and vertical before quickly returning to normal.

The candlelight in the cabin suddenly dimmed, and one star after another materialized in the air, darting swiftly and tracing symbols that signified concealment.

The cabin, shrouded in hazy starlight, became detached from its surroundings both physically and mystically, isolating it from any external assaults.

"Bringing you along really… makes things a lot easier," he whispered. Luo Sai'er turned to look at Naste seated on the highest high‑backed chair, his expression now solemn, and explained with a light laugh, "Before I truly resurrect, my identity cannot be revealed."

After a pause, he continued, "I wonder if you've been following Luen's news; I suspect someone in Luen's royal family is preparing to ascend to 'Black Emperor'."

"Do you need me to help stop him?"

"As the 'King of the Five Seas', my movements are constantly watched by major churches and royal houses; I cannot stay on land for long. The Black Emperor's spirit‑realm wanderings always leave traces, making it unsuitable to go to places like Beckland."

As he spoke, Naste leaned back slightly, searching his mind for known information while recalling rituals related to the Black Emperor.

A moment later, he seemed to have an epiphany and nodded, saying:

"The Storm Church has been investigating population disappearances in some sea colonies; this wasn't noteworthy before, but now I have a new perspective."

When Naste fell silent, Luo Sai'er finally rose from his seat, looking straight at Naste, his tone leisurely, "Stopping the ascension ritual has someone more suitable than you…"

"I need you to do another thing for me; it helps me and also helps you."

"When the time comes, I'll lend you the Black Emperor (Item); you only need to go to the corresponding spirit realm in advance, using the aggregation effect of extraordinary traits to draw the failed 'Black Emperor' ascendant's traits…"

"As a reward, I will grant you the traits belonging to the 'Duke of Entropy'."
