Chapter 705: Revival Failure
In the captain's cabin of the Dawn, Bierna Dai listened to the familiar voice echoing in her ears, and a vague silhouette reflected in her eyes, the figure she knew so well making the corner of her mouth involuntarily curl into a smile.
Aboard the Future sailing the Sunia Sea, Jia Deliya's body suddenly stiffened; a deep, light‑purple flash passed through her eyes as she carefully scanned the ship and the surrounding waters.
"Is that… Emperor Luo Sai Er's voice? He—no, He has revived?" Jia Deliya's voice slipped into disbelief.
She had never seen the legendary figure, but through her connection with Bierna Dai she knew quite a bit about Luo Sai Er and felt admiration in her heart.
Feeling the voice still faintly reverberating in her ears and the illusory figure appearing in her sight, her intuition as a "Mystic Scholar" told her this was Emperor Luo Sai Er, returned in the form of a great existence!
While traversing the spirit realm aboard the Black Emperor, the figure of Naste, King of the Five Seas, blinked and stepped out of the cabin onto the foremost deck.
The Black Emperor's jet‑black hull phantasmalized, swiftly leaving the spirit realm and appearing on the surface of the Mist Sea.
Naste gazed deeply at the sky shrouded in thin mist; brilliant starlight pierced the fog, casting a hazy star river below into the eyes of every Inditis person, letting them see Luo Sai Er's silhouette and hear his voice.
In the northern continent's Inditis Republic, the entire nation fell into a strange silence, most people's eyes showing bewilderment, excitement and helplessness, unable to believe what they saw and heard, yet unwilling to disbelieve.
Extraordinary individuals who learned more and knew more also remained silent, their emotions complex—both incredulous and oddly excited.
Thanks to Luo Sai Er's legendary exploits and his outstanding contributions to both reality and mystic studies, in Inditis anyone who is not of the Soren family or other noble descendants he once suppressed holds him in high regard; he is a target and idol for many youths.
For a "Black Emperor", a true god, this is a natural advantage, because every Inditis citizen who reveres him is his anchor, the faith that steadies his own state.
Because of the existence of the God of Steam and Machinery Church, even the former royal Soren family of Inditis could only suppress and curtail Luo Sai Er's influence, not directly act in darkness to forbid everything about him.
And now they deeply regret not having withstood the pressure of the Steam Church, erasing Luo Sai Er completely from Inditis's history.
On the Mist Sea, among Inditis's fleet, almost everyone heard the echoing words at their ears and saw that hazy, oppressive silhouette.
This influence did not last long; accompanied by a rust‑ and blood‑stained lightning flash, a hidden Weather Mage in the fog used angelic‑tier "mind communication" to tightly link every ship in the fleet, stripping away Luo Sai Er's effect.
Within the abstract, illusory Star Realm, black shadows continuously flowed out, spreading outward and dimming the entire Star Realm considerably.
Under the interwoven shadows, a world of dark order seemed to take shape, where a black, solemn throne stood; Luo Sai Er's figure sat upon it, overlooking the world, planning order and ruling the earth!
This state did not endure long; under the empowerment of the Black Emperor's stature, the virtually unique resistance was absorbed by him.
With a foothold, he also moved from a conceptual, abstract state into reality, reappearing in the Star Realm, bringing the Black Emperor's revival to its final step.
Luo Sai Er, unimpeded, linked with the three unclaimed Murdered Order Prince traits, amplifying their aggregation effect so they spontaneously broke their seals and flew into the Star Realm.
But the process was not as smooth as he imagined; he only attracted two of the Murdered Order Prince traits, the third was held back by some force, and even relying on the Black Emperor's stature, he could not retrieve that trait quickly.
Luo Sai Er followed the connections among the extraordinary traits, turning his gaze toward Ruen in reality, toward the palace of Beckland.
"The third trait is in Ruen's palace—damn, it must be the Lamp God's doing; I told you we shouldn't have let Him pollute Augustus I so quickly."
While muttering to himself, he tried to use his own stature to interfere with the Lamp‑tainted William Augustus I.
Like chains of order shadows, they descended from the illusory, abstract Star Realm, stabbing inexorably into the palace in Beckland.
Almost simultaneously, within the Star Realm, a phantom domain of rising steam and turning gears scattered shards of light.
These lights spontaneously coalesced into thin, projection‑like scrolls that nevertheless felt immensely weighty.
The scrolls, bearing millennia of civilization, thick and expansive, blocked Luo Sai Er's sight and also hindered the chains he cast, preventing him from directly intervening in reality to retrieve the final Murdered Order Prince trait.
"Hmph, 'Steam'!"
Luo Sai Er's angry voice echoed through the Star Realm; without the final trait, he could not truly return.
On the Dawn, space suddenly twisted; layer upon layer of golden ripples opened out of nowhere, coalescing before Leiketon into a twisted, chaotic golden human silhouette. The Lamp God briefly broke the limits of the wishing lamp, allowing itself to affect reality and appear before Leiketon.
"You deceived me."
His tone was filled with anger, like layered, noisy babble.
Leiketon, looking at the golden vortex twisted into clumps, replied calmly, "I have already fulfilled the promise of our previous deal; there was no deception between us."
The Lamp God snorted coldly and said harshly, "You did help me infect a 'Hand of Order', but when I tried to reclaim the authority belonging to the Order Shadow, you forced me out of the tomb."
"Without my consent, the final 'Murdered Order Prince' trait wasn't so easily aggregated into the Star Realm; perhaps by the time the Black Emperor revives, everything will have ended."
As the words fell, the Lamp God's silhouette rippled inward layer by layer, disappearing from Leiketon's sight.
Watching the direction of the Lamp God's disappearance, Leiketon whispered, "How do you know I wasn't trying to make you delay Luo Sai Er's revival?"
"Hmph!"
On the empty deck, the Lamp God's cold snort echoed around, soon fading completely.
On the southern continent, at the easternmost coastal port of the Northern Province, crimson‑yellow flames intertwined in the air to form a scorching, searing spear of fire that shot toward the street below, aiming straight at the stunned "Secret Saint" Butis standing motionless.
Beneath a black robe, Butis's brown hair curled slightly, his deep eyes rigidly fixed in place, his thoughts muddled and immobile, his whole being like a machine wholly corroded by iron rust.
As a "Mystic", he could clearly sense the hidden forces around, the growing sense of danger, and his own abnormal condition.
. Mystic. accidental. transformation!
As his thoughts struggled to turn, he saw a silent figure appear before him: a middle‑aged man wearing a silk top hat and a black tuxedo.
He bore obvious Southern Continent racial features: bronze skin, soft features, eyes that were both weathered and sharp, like a high‑ranking noble.
Butis instinctively felt the stranger's face was familiar, yet his stalled thoughts prevented him from recalling more.
The moment the figure appeared, his body and soul grew icy, as if dying piece by piece; even his extraordinary traits were being inexorably consumed by death, his struggles and efforts vanishing in an instant.
Boom! A violent explosion roared, waves of fire surged, the blazing flames devoured all of Butis's thoughts; under the infection of death's power, he finally felt a thread of warmth fill his entire body.
In less than two seconds, all warmth and cold faded; he lost every spark of consciousness, his soul extinguished.
The surrounding crimson‑yellow flames converged ahead, reassembling in midair Anderson's body, which landed deftly on the ground.
He looked with surprise at the charred remains of the "Secret Saint" Butis on the ground, not expecting a half‑god famed for agility and mystery to die before him without any struggle or resistance.
Retracting his gaze, he turned to the softly‑faced, expressionless Azke, gave a respectful bow and said:
"Truly worthy of the Angel of the Death Realm, a saint dies like this, unable to muster any resistance."
"Honestly, I had just imagined dozens of different developments and counter‑measures, never expecting this hunt to end so simply, just as you previously helped Germaine Sparro hunt that 'Hell General' Ludwig."
Azke glanced at Anderson, slowly shook his head and said, "Do not underestimate yourself; a 'Blood‑Knight' fully unleashed 'Reaping' can overwhelm even the mightiest half‑gods, let alone the fragile 'Mystic'."
"I only placed some restrictions on him, making resistance and pleas impossible, while also interfering with any possible sight and divination."
As he spoke, pale flames fell from Azke's palm, completely erasing the ash and aura left by the "Secret Saint" Butis.
Yet moments later, even the charred trace on the ground vanished.
