Chapter 164

In the entire scene, only Zhou Yi's tall, slender figure, shrouded in sacred radiance, remained.

The Xiong Guai that had been charging in frenzy earlier were as if they had never appeared at all......

And the originally eerie, terrifying atmosphere, under the illumination of the dazzling light around Zhou Yi, transformed completely, becoming incomparably sacred as well.

"Sixteen Xiong Guai—were they instantly killed just like that?"

Someone swallowed hard, eyes wide.

And the surrounding students were likewise stunned into blank stillness.

For a moment, the entire spectator seating fell into an eerie silence......

The students in the stands were dumbfounded and bewildered.

The many instructors on the etiquette platform couldn't help but pause in surprise as well.

The same doubt arose in their hearts:

Sixteen Xiong Guai, just instantly killed like that?

Could it be that the Xiong Guai were too weak?

A teacher glanced at the screen of another specially-recruited student who had likewise chosen Abyss-level difficulty.

On the screen, that specially-recruited student who had class-changed into a Gunslinger had only just barely managed to slay the sixth Xiong Guai.

He was using the 'Slide Step' skill, dodging the Xiong Guai everywhere to avoid being surrounded.

And the specially-recruited students on the other screens who had chosen Abyss-level difficulty were the same—all still immersed in battle.

Since the Xiong Guai's strength wasn't the issue, that could only mean—

Zhou Yi's damage was simply too high, reaching the point of instantly killing the Xiong Guai!

"I sensed a thick fire-element aura from that golden flame."

The dean of the Element Academy, Zhou Huayang, spoke up with keen interest.

Originally, the Holy Knight class had no way of being linked to the Element Academy no matter what.

But now, the skill this person had displayed gave him a strong interest in Zhou Yi.

This little fellow is rather interesting......

"Holy Light Cross, a B-rank skill, can cause enemies within a certain range to continuously suffer light-attribute fire damage every second.

However, this skill is mainly supportive in nature—only through prolonged burning can enemies be killed.

How did it become an instant kill in Zhou Yi's hands......"

The dean of the War Academy, Wu Mang, was somewhat puzzled.

Through the college entrance exam recordings, he naturally knew the 'Holy Light Cross' skill that Zhou Yi possessed.

But what he hadn't expected was that the moment Zhou Yi released Holy Light Cross, he instantly killed all the Xiong Guai of the first stage.

"Could it be because his Intelligence stat is too high?"

A teaching instructor from the Element Academy speculated.

Nearly all magic-type skills were related to the Intelligence stat.

The higher the Intelligence stat, the stronger the damage of the magic skill released, naturally.

"Not sure, but if we keep watching, we should find out."

The dean of the War Academy, Wu Mang, shook his head.

There were many reasons for high skill damage.

Intelligence stat, buff-skill amplification, even some heavenly materials and earthly treasures consumed—all were possible......

Just seeing one battle scene, one simply couldn't determine.

Moreover......

Wu Mang glanced at the seemingly useless light wheel behind Zhou Yi.

A hint of doubt showed in his expression.

With his vast experience, he actually couldn't recognize what skill this was, nor its effects......

"True enough, the Xiong Guai were instantly killed, the flames naturally vanished, and there's no way to see more."

The surrounding instructors, hearing this, nodded in agreement and continued watching.

They saw that among the thirty-plus windows floating in midair, Zhou Yi, who had instantly killed all the Xiong Guai, was naturally in the lead.

He stepped directly into the next stage.

"Judging from his performance in this first stage, Zhou Yi didn't waste this past month or so."

"On the contrary......"

"His strength has improved considerably."

Wu Mang was quite gratified.

At the same time, his gaze swept across the other few windows.

The other specially-recruited students performed well too; although it wasn't as shocking as Zhou Yi's instant kill,

their kiting and positioning were clearly very practiced, not at all overwhelmed by the pressure of the Abyss-level Xiong Guai.

To save time, quite a few of them had also activated powerful skills.

Within mere dozens of seconds, people began passing the first stage one after another, stepping into the next.

"Indeed, choosing Abyss mode was the wisest decision."

Wu Mang smiled slightly.

When the college entrance exam clearance records of each specially-recruited student had been placed before him back then, he had keenly noticed—

This batch of new students was much stronger than previous batches!!

Zhou Yi

Wu Mang

Xiong Guai

Zhou Huayang

The top three from previous cohorts, if placed among this year's newcomers,

would barely rank around thirtieth or fortieth!

How absurd is that?

Especially the top five newcomers—they're stronger than ever before!!

Therefore,

after discussing with the other deans, he decisively activated the Abyss Mode.

Now it seems, his choice was indeed correct...
