Chapter 67

The only difference was that she possessed elven bloodline, while her best friend Jiang Churan possessed succubus bloodline!!

The succubus bloodline, besides granting Jiang Churan extremely high dark-attribute affinity, powerful body recovery ability, and the ability to sense demon race members.

It would also naturally emit a kind of charm power.

And her best friend herself was already a stunning great beauty with a figure that turned heads and breathtaking looks.

Paired with this charm power.

Nearly every person who saw her would fall under its spell for a moment.

Of course, if the level gap between the two was too great, it would not have this effect.

"This guy is a senior from the fourth year?"

Xia Lan hurriedly asked.

Fourth-year students at top universities were almost all around level 27 or 28.

Yet Jiang Churan was only level 14, so it was normal that her charm power did not work.

"No, just like me, he's also a freshman.

Moreover, his level is even one lower than mine, only level 13."

Jiang Churan shook her head slightly.

During registration, she had secretly glanced once and memorized all of Zhou Yi's information.

"Hmm? His level is lower than yours, yet he could resist your charm power?"

Xia Lan's heart surged with monstrous waves.

This was something that had never happened before.

After thinking for a moment, she analyzed: "Then his willpower must be very firm!"

Generally speaking, the firmer a person's willpower, the less they were affected by charm power.

And with eyes that remained clear, not even a moment of falling under its spell, that could only mean his willpower was terrifyingly strong!

"I thought so too, but whether that's truly the case still needs to be verified."

A strange brilliance flickered in Jiang Churan's beautiful eyes.

This was still the first guy she had encountered who could resist her charm power.

Before this, even those heaven's proud sons praised to the skies would fall under its spell just the same.

......:

Just as Jiang Churan was chatting with her best friend.

Suhang University, the very central teaching building, 8th floor, Vice Principal's office.

Su Mei, already changed into a gorgeous mentor's robe, swayed her figure as she stepped inside.

Behind the office desk, a lean middle-aged man with gold-rimmed glasses and short hair was working.

Seeing Su Mei walk in, he slightly raised his head:

"Back?"

His voice was very deep, carrying an unquestionable sense of authority.

"Mm, the provincial top scorer Zhou Yi has been safely delivered to the school and is currently handling enrollment procedures."

Su Mei nodded slightly, her exquisite face utterly solemn.

Chen Fan, Vice Principal of Suhang University, a level-56 third-turn Priest.

In front of this big shot, she, a level-42 second-turn Mage, didn't even dare to breathe heavily.

"During this period of contact with Zhou Yi, how do you feel about him?"

Chen Fan's hands were operating something on a virtual interface, but unlike ordinary people, his hands had already turned into afterimages.

"Very impressive—steady, calm, with extremely fierce combat technique and formidable strength."

After a pause, Su Mei added:

"And... resilient in character, loyal and righteous."

"Oh? How so?"

Chen Fan's fingers operating the virtual interface paused slightly, an intrigued expression appearing on his face.

"Zhou Yi's background is tragic. Ten years ago his father died in the beast tide of an otherworld invasion. A year ago his mother passed from illness, and his younger sister was diagnosed with a strange illness urgently needing money."

"And after selling his house and failing to borrow money everywhere, he still did not choose to give up, stubbornly enduring through the most difficult period with the perseverance of working three jobs a day."

"From this, one can see some of his character qualities."

Suhang University never only looked at grades when recruiting students—character qualities were also within the scope of examination.

And as Zhou Yi's special-recruitment mentor, Su Mei had clearly investigated Zhou Yi's background very thoroughly.

"From what you say, this Zhou Yi is indeed a good seedling."

Chen Fan nodded in agreement, then sighed:

"Thanks to national policy adjustments, this year's college entrance exam—candidates from across the entire Zhongxia Kingdom are much stronger than in previous years.

In past years, existences who could become provincial top scorers could only place second or third this year.

And the freshmen we've recruited this cohort can also be said to be the strongest lineup in recent decades—several provincial top scorers alone."

"But more provincial top scorers also brings trouble—everyone is a heaven's proud son, and none of them submit to another."

"I set Zhou Yi as sequence 001, and I don't know if that harmed him."

"Zhou Yi is sequence 001?"

Su Mei was stunned.

During this period she had been in her hometown Anyang City and hadn't paid much attention to school matters.

She hadn't expected Zhou Yi to actually be designated as sequence 001.

"That's right."

Chen Fan nodded. "Judging by the strength he displayed in the college entrance exam, there is no doubt that Zhou Yi is definitely number one."

"But after a month, whether Zhou Yi can hold onto this 001 sequence is uncertain."

"After all, his output capability will grow increasingly weaker the further along it goes."

As a level 56 third-tier priest, he possessed quite rich combat experience.

He saw Zhou Yi's current problem at a glance!!

His output capability is too weak!!

Other combat classes, such as the Berserker.

As their level increases, their output capability becomes increasingly powerful.

But for the Paladin, as the level rises, what improves is the healing and buffing support capability.

Although they possess a certain amount of combat power, compared to a pure output class like the Berserker, they fall far short.

When the level is low, it is not yet visible.

But as the level rises, this gap will become increasingly obvious!

And after school starts, all new students will receive basic credits and various resources.

Their strength will enter a stage of crazy improvement!!

And Zhou Yi's shortcoming will very likely be exposed at the new student tournament a month from now.

By then, he, who has occupied the 001 sequence for a month, will probably be targeted by everyone.

Su Mei also understood Chen Fan's meaning.

However, she was quite optimistic:

"The default ranking upon enrollment is based on the strength displayed in the college entrance exam."

"Zhou Yi displayed the strongest strength in the exam, so he should obtain the 001 sequence."

"By then, even if his ranking drops during the new student tournament, it is because his own strength did not grow fast enough, failing to quickly make up for his shortcoming."

"Moreover, I do not think he will fall from the 001 sequence."

A strange light flickered in Su Mei's beautiful eyes.

"Oh, it seems you have a lot of confidence in Zhou Yi."

"Then let us wait and see."

Chen Fan said with a faint smile.

Regarding Zhou Yi's performance at the new student tournament a month from now, he was also very much looking forward to it.

After all, this is the only provincial top scorer from the northern part of Suhang Province in recent years.
